A rollicking revenge drama wrapped up in darkly funny rom-com packaging, 2021’s :a[Promising Young Woman]{href='https://www.empireonline.com/movies/reviews/promising-young-woman/' } marked the emergence of a bold new voice in British filmmaking – Emerald Fennell. Armed with exquisite needledrops, razor sharp social commentary, and a slick sense of visual style, the writer-director proved herself to be quite the provoc-auteur. And now she’s back, taking aim at the seedy, seductive world of the Oxfordian elite with :a[Saltburn]{href='https://www.empireonline.com/movies/news/new-saltburn-trailer-barry-keoghan-jacob-elordi-emerald-fennell/' }, which sees Barry Keoghan’s socially outcast student Oliver Quick lured to the sprawling titular estate of Jacob Elordi’s Felix Catton for a summer he’ll never forget. It’s also a period piece. “Which period?” we hear you cry? Why, the Noughties, of course!

House of the Dragon viewers are reacting to the news regarding a key departure just three weeks into the series.
The Game of Thrones spin-off, which is a prequel set almost 200 years before the original show’s events, has broadcast two episodes to date, with a third arriving on Sunday (4 September).
HBO has announced that the show will return for a second season following news of record-breaking ratings.
However, the series will be without a key name as it’s been revealed that co-showrunner Miguel Sapochnik will not be returning.
Sapochnik, who directed several Game of Thrones episodes, has been a driving force behind the prequel alongside Ryan J Condal and George Rr Martin, who is the author of the source material of both shows.
Rather than there being any bad blood, though, Sapochnik’s decision seemingly comes due to a desire to move away from Thrones-related projects.

An explosive new documentary explores allegations surrounding Armie Hammer, as well as the Hammer family history at large.
Released on Discovery+ on Friday (2 September), House of Hammer is a three-part examination of the alleged abuses of the actor, which then delves into the reported wrongdoings of Armand Hammer, the actor’s grandfather.
In 2021, a woman identified as Effie publicly accused the Call Me By Your Name star of raping and abusing her, a claim he denies. Since then, others have alleged sexual misconduct against the actor, two of whom appear on camera in the documentary series.
Hammer has repeatedly denied allegations of sexual misconduct made against him.
Directors Elli Hakami and Julian P. Hobbs use the allegations lodged against Hammer as a jumping-off point to explore all facets of his famous family.

Kelly Brook left her radio co-host Jk redfaced after showing him a risqué photo of herself that will feature in The Crown.
The model and presenter has revealed that producers of the Netflix series requested to use the photo in a scene in the show’s sixth season, which will be set in either 1999 or the early 2000s, at the height pf Brook’s fame.
Brook, who co-hosts Heart Breakfast with Jamiroquai singer Jk, showed “the picture in question” on her phone, revealing that “it would be printed as a poster, and it would be put up in one of the character’s dressing rooms”.
She then told Jk: “Right, I’m going to click on the picture and show you. Are you ready?”
After seeing the photo, which shows Brook posing in her underwear, he said: “Oh dear! Hello. Hang on a second… I don’t... no, I can’t see that.

Los Angeles, May 17 (Ians) Model-actress Kelly Brook has been with her beau Jeremy Parisi for years, but is not desperate to have children or tie the knot.
"I've got a bucket list and I have to say a wedding is not on it!" Brook said, adding that motherhood "isn't on her radar" at the moment.
"I feel like marriage and children are not things I've wanted. I like travelling and being with my partner, I like animals working and being independent and I like my freedom. I like being spontaneous," Brook told Notebook magazine, according to a report in femalefirst.co.uk.
She said having children is a huge commitment.
Brook said: "There are so many things I love, and I think marriage and children would stop me doing those things. I try to imagine how it would be, and when you have children it's a huge commitment."

Actress Kelly Brook is launching her brand of beer. The brand will be launched under the name Kelly Ann Parsons, her birth name.
Kelly, who plans to sell different types of beer and non alcoholic drinks, also has a gin bar and a coffee shop at her place.
"I've really enjoyed making my home space versatile for my working day and it's really helped to keep me feeling energised and happy. You don't need a lot of room, but creating different designated areas for activities, whether it's making a coffee or having a stretch, is a nice way to make use of all your space. I've created different areas in my home dedicated to things I like to do, like a reading corner, a yoga space, a little coffee shop and a gin bar. Former glamour model Kelly Brook says she never feels sexy as she is more of a goofy clown and is embarrassed to be regarded as a sex symbol.
"I've never felt sexy in my life. I'm the happiest I've ever felt in my own skin, but I don't wake up every day feeling sexy. I feel that is something that is projected on to me rather than how I actually feel about myself," Brook told Closer magazine.
She added that she got quite "embarrassed" about it even when she was a glamour model.
Kelly Brook said, "It paid the bills but it was weird for me. Twenty-one was never really a sexy girl -- I'm a bit more of a geeky, goofy clown."

I got a sense you thoroughly enjoyed writing this book, once you were over some initial research-y hurdles. Would that be fair?
Yeah, that’s fair. It was kind of a journey, really. A reassembling. I’ve had these memories, and it was really a chance to put them down on paper and order them. Everything fragments as you get older, and things come out,...

Kelly Brook plays a shop assistant turned outlaw in a breezy London tale that doesn’t do justice to writer/director Maeve Murphy’s talents
Ever envisaged Kelly Brook as a latterday Bonnie Parker? Me neither. But talented writer/director Maeve Murphy has other ideas, casting Kelly as disgruntled shop employee Kate who decides to rob her place of work when redundancy looms. It’s fluffy, sunny fare, shot in breezy London locales that go some way towards disguising the ropey plot and televisual contrivance.
Personally, I much preferred Murphy’s short film, Sushi, the tasty appetiser to this altogether more bland main course.

It has some appealing quirky touches, but Maeve Murphy’s comedy might have worked better on the small screen
Maeve Murphy is the award-winning theatre and film director whose debut feature Silent Grace (2001) was a tough drama about Irish Republican hunger-strikers in women’s prisons. For her new movie, she has gone for a larky comedy caper – for me it didn’t gel, despite some divertingly surreal touches. Kelly Brook plays Kate, an out-of-work actor dumped by her boyfriend on the same day as being laid off from her humiliating stopgap job selling cutesy home furnishings. In a rage, she conceives a bizarre plan to rob this store of its cash takings, imitating her secret heroine, beret-wearing outlaw Bonnie Parker of Bonnie and Clyde fame. There are some nice exterior locations in King’s Cross, London: a nod to the Ealing classic The Ladykillers. It has a quirkiness that might have worked better on television.

There are some nice exterior locations in King’s Cross, London: a nod to the Ealing classic The Ladykillers. It has a quirkiness that might have worked better on television.

We already know that Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron are set to star in a big-screen version of Baywatch, the iconic television show that immortalized David Hasselhof and an army of good-looking lifeguards wearing well-fitting swimsuits while running in slow motion on a California beach. But who will snare the female lead for the movie, to be directed by Seth Gordon (Horrible Bosses)? The original TV show featured women in prominent roles, including Pamela Anderson, Erika Eleniak, Yasmine Bleeth, and Alexandra Paul. Since Efron was added this past August, several names have already been floated: Kelly Brook, Kate Upton, and Charlotte McKinney. The plot is said to revolve around a by-the-book lifeguard (Johnson) who is teamed with a "rule-flouting hothead" (Efron) to save...

Oh dear: there's trouble in Strictly Come Dancing paradise. Judge Craig Revel Horwood has been stirring the pot by suggesting that pro Kristina Rihanoff was "gutted" to be paired with Daniel O'Donnell, while another report suggested that Oti Mabuse thought her celeb Anthony Ogogo was an "arsehole" before they started working together (Anthony's insisted that's not true).
But both of those duos could have had it a lot worse, as these six disastrous partnerships from the past prove:
1. Lynda Bellingham & Darren Bennett (series seven, 2009)
How far did they get? Finished in 13th place
What's the problem? We didn't know it at the time, but Lynda's widower Michael Pattemore revealed in his book My Lynda that she didn't get on with her partner Darren - because he was a "miserable git" who wanted to dance solidly with No Fun Allowed. Kelly Brook has laughed off reports that she will be appearing in the Baywatch movie reboot.
Tabloids had speculated that the actress would play Pamela Anderson's character Cj Parker in the reboot, but Brook took to Instagram to quash the rumours.
"The tabloids have gone mad," she wrote. "Love it."
Further mocking the reports, she also posted an image of her face Photoshopped on top of Cj Parker, as well as one of her boyfriend Jeremy Parisi morphed with David Hasselhoff.

Remember the first ever Love Island with its seemingly clueless single celebrities constantly bickering on a tumultuous and stormy (literally and metaphorically) Fijian island?
Even the show's co-hosts Kelly Brook and Patrick Kielty were baying for one another's blood when Kielty decided to declare during one live show that Brook had previously dated contestant Paul Danan.
Other memorable highlights included Abi Titmuss becoming more and more enraged as Fran Cosgrave repeatedly referred to her as Vanessa Feltz, swiftly followed by a tipsy and uncouth Rebecca Loos letting rip.
The series aired almost exactly a decade ago, so we found ourselves wondering - whatever happened to eventual winner Jayne Middlemiss? And the Love Island love god that was Lee Sharpe?
As the new non-celebrity series currently enjoys its ITV2 revival, we find out what the 12 star contestants have gone on to do since their 2005 stint below:

Gino ditches the tights when he becomes Batman's partner Robin, Pro Green is Jim Carrey's The Mask, Gok Wan is Psy of 'Gangnam Style' fame, and Charlotte Crosby becomes fellow Geordie Cheryl Cole.
Keith joins Gok for the 'Gangnam Style' dance before the pair share a birthday kiss together.
Gino, meanwhile, books a stripper for Keith as a birthday present, but it's not Kelly Brook as Keith hoped it would be.

NBC decided to hold One Big Happy until late in the TV season. That's typically a sign that the network has very little confidence in a series. How has this sitcom been doing? Is it a surprise ratings success? Will it be cancelled or renewed for a second season?

Britain's Got Talent's ninth series is well underway now - but everyone still remembers that famous week of series three when Kelly Brook was hired and promptly fired as a judge after just a few days on the show.
Brook has now revealed that she "wasn't bothered" by her swift axing, saying that Simon Cowell was difficult to work with.
"The way Simon made it look was that I went chasing him," she told The Mirror. "I didn't.
"He called me and asked if I would do it, like, the next day. So I called my stylist, got some clothes sorted and got there in time.
"Simon didn't, though - he was hours late. We would have to start at 9am and he wouldn't get there until 1pm. It was disrespectful to me, Amanda Holden and Piers Morgan."
She added that Cowell's attitude meant that she was not unhappy to leave the show,...

Nearly 18 years ago, Ellen DeGeneres made television history when she announced on her sitcom that she was gay. Now, the queen of daytime is about to change the landscape again with the new NBC comedy One Big Happy.
News: Ellen DeGeneres Thinks She Would Want Kids, But Will She?
Ellen executive produces the show, which follows the unconventional family of Lizzy (Elisha Cuthbert), Luke (Nick Zano) and Prudence (Kelly Brook). Lizzy, who is a lesbian, wants to raise a child with Luke by her side. Lizzy discovers she's pregnant just after Luke elopes with a free-spirited British girl (Prudence) -- and with that a new kind of family is born.

Welcome to the March 17, 2015 edition of Outrage Watch, HitFix's (almost) daily rundown of all the things folks are peeved about in entertainment. So much anger today! Top story: Daily Beast TV writer Kevin Fallon has a big problem with NBC's "One Big Happy." "As a sitcom, it’s as retrograde as it gets - a 'Three's Company' retread where instead of getting starkly different personalities, the characters get different sexualities. (Or, in Prudence’s case, an accent)," writes Fallon of the new Ellen DeGeneres-produced sitcom, which stars Elisha Cuthbert as a gay woman who decides to raise a child with her straight best friend (Nick Zano) -- only to have his hot new wife (Kelly Brook) move in. "Hijinks barely even ensue, replaced instead by broad lesbian clichés and stereotypes that are only recognized as jokes when the unsettling, maniacal laugh track kicks in." Fallon continues: "If...

With "Parks and Recreation" ascended to heaven, "Community" descended to Yahoo and "Marry Me" and "About a Boy" preparing to evaporate into the ether, you might say that NBC's comedy brand was in jeopardy. That, however, would make the completely false assumption that NBC has a comedy brand. As the network heads into the heart of the Spring 2015 development season, NBC has a couple half-hour blocks of laugh-intended programming, which does not a "comedy brand" make. The network's confusion at its place-filling strategy is evident in the new Tuesday block of "Undateable" and "One Big Happy," which premieres on Tuesday (March 17) with the not insignificant boost of "The Voice," which NBC presumably hopes will prevent the ignominy of a network having to start 100 percent from scratch, comedy-wise, at the May upfronts. On the surface, "Undateable" and "One Big Happy" feel similar, at least if your concept of similar is "All...

This review is based on the first two episodes of season one, which were provided to us for review purposes prior to broadcast.
Full disclosure: I was sent the first four episodes of NBC’s newest comedy sitcom, One Big Happy, and I only watched two. That sentence will probably do more to express my feelings for the show than this review as a whole, because, honestly, there’s just not much to criticize here. It’s the most basic, shrill, laugh track-using, oh-what-shenanigans-will-they-get-into-this-week kind of show that feels like someone at NBC tripped over a dusty old pilot episode in some forgotten hallway and remembered they needed a half hour to fill this spring.

What a difference 18 years makes. In 1997, Ellen DeGeneres made history when her TV character, Ellen Morgan, came out (as did DeGeneres herself). The groundbreaking episode drew in a whopping 42 million viewers and even won a coveted Peabody award. Fast forward almost two decades, and DeGeneres is now executive producing “One Big Happy,” a new sitcom about Lizzy (Elisha Cuthbert), a young lesbian, and her straight best friend Luke (Nick Zano), who decide to have a child together. One Big Happy, NBC‘s latest sit-com effort, is set to have a great premiere just off the back of promotion by executive producer Ellen Degeneres. The real question is whether or not people are going to come back, and if it can expand its market beyond the viewers who are dedicated Ellen fans.
One of the best indicators of its success (or lack thereof) may be its lead-in, Undateable. The shows are well-paired, with not only much in common, but a similar comedic style. They are also shows that aren’t exactly the kind of efforts that will shoot out of the gates. They need to grow on you a bit before you come around to appreciating what a blast they are. That’s a tough road in today’s world, as Undateable fans can attest, since it wasn’t a sure thing it would be returning for a while.
