After quitting showbiz in 1974 she studied law and became a registered lawyer. In 1990 Ms. Brokken was appointed as a judge at the district court of 's-Hertogenbosch. In 1995 she decided to have a showbiz comeback.
On March 3,1957, she won the second edition of the Eurovision Song Contest with a song called 'Net Als Toen'. She also performed in the 1956 and the 1958 edition of the festival.
