Exclusive: Carl Weber’s The Family Business New Orleans spinoff is rounding out its cast. Lela Rochon joins previously announced Brandon T. Jackson in a starring role, along with Ben Stephens, Pooch Hall, Quincy Brown, David Banner, Yvette Nicole Brown, Orlando Jones, Nicole Galicia, Erica Hubbard, Sarah Carter, Stan Shaw, Bern Nadette Stanis, Nayirah Teshali, Sacaiah Shaw, Jenson Atwood, AzMarie Livingston, Deric Augustine. Kayla Nicole, and Nicholas Turturro. Stephens, Stanis, Stan Shaw, Teshali, and Sacaiha Shaw guest-starred in the orginal series’ fourth season. Jackson and Rochon also serve as Associate Producers. The spinoff is currently shooting in New Orleans and Los Angeles with a premiere date on BET+ Tba.

Based on Weber’s bestselling crime drama book series, which wrapped its fourth season in October 2022, The Family Business follows the Duncans, an upstanding, tight-knit family led by L.C. Duncan (Ernie Hudson) that by day owns and operates an exotic car dealership in New York.

The Black Hamptons has a season 2 return date. The series based on the novel by The New York Times best-selling author Carl Weber will be back on BET+ Dec. 7.

The family drama set in Sag Harbor will welcome several new cast members including Richard Lawson, Steven Williams, RonReaco Lee, Blue Kimble, Niki Taylor, and Thomas Calabro, among others.

The Black Hamptons highlights the glitz and gloss of the Black elite while following the lives of the Brittons and the Johnsons and exposing the secrets of wealth and prestige. With a mix of legacy families, their friends, wannabes and thirsty developers, the drama in Sag Harbor is never too far behind. Lamman Rucker, Vanessa Bell Calloway, Elise Neal, Brian White, KaRon Riley, Mike Merrill, Angela ‘Blac Chyna’ White, Aaron Spears, Daya Vaidya, Cameo Sherrell and Jennifer Freeman will all reprise their roles from season one.

Morris Chestnut and partner Haven Mitchell's Dark Skin Productions are developing the romantic comedy "Ring My Bell" with Tri-Destined Studios.

Mitchell has written the project, which he and Chestnut would produce with Veronica Nichols and Tri- Destined partner N.D. Brown.

In addition to Brown, the Tri-Destined partners are Trey Haley and Greg Anderson.

New Wave Entertainment, Tri Destined Films and Blumhouse Productions are joining forces to bring the inspirational story of University of Texas track and field coach Beverly "Bev" Kearney to the screen.

Kearney, who was injured in a car accident in 2002, continued coaching championship teams as well as countless Olympians while teaching herself to walk again.
