Jiri Brozek is a Czech film editor and winner of nine Czech Lions for best editing.
The future film editor spent his young years in Roudnice nad Labem. In 1967 he was admitted to FAMU in Prague. It was a time when the New Wave of Czechoslovak cinema was at its peak. After school he joined the Barrandov Film Studio, where he began editing films by Jiri Menzel, Vera Chytilova, Karel Kachyna or Ladislav Smoljak. Among the most frequently re-released films are certainly The Golden Eels, Waiter, Scarper!, Cutting It Short, Jara Cimrman Lying, Sleeping, My Sweet Little Village or The Smoke. Jiri Brozek has received numerous awards for his work.
