Jeanette Milio is a veteran producer and financier of motion pictures and television programming. Over twenty-five years and working across three continents, she participated in producing and distributing film and television content totaling over $250 million in production volume to date. Jeanette Milio is the CEO of Alliance Cinema, a film and television content, finance, and production company located in Beverly Hills, CA.
Ms. Milio worked on the development, financing, production, and/or distribution aspects of over 50 film and television projects with Academy Award® winning talent in front of and behind the camera. Her projects have been successfully distributed by studios, networks, and streamers including Paramount, Lionsgate, Sony Pictures, Warner Bros, HBO, Showtime, ABC, USA Network, Discovery, TLC, National Geographic, as well as Apple, Amazon, and Netflix, in addition to networks and distributors in Europe.
Born and raised in Germany, Ms. Milio started her career in the entertainment industry with the German network station RTL, working on German adaptations of FAMILY FEUD, JEOPARDY, PRICE IS RIGHT, and other daily shows, before moving into fiction producing scripted series and films, including five seasons of the prime-time drama series WILDBACH for the German network ARD and the feature KREIS DER ANGST for PRO SIEBEN/SAT1.
After immigrating to the US in 1999, Ms. Milio realized motion pictures and television content for major studios, network stations, and streamers, including TIMESHARE a comedy starring Nastassja Kinski and Timothy Dalton (distributor:/ABC Disney/Freevee), 13, an action/thriller starring Jason Statham, Academy Award® winning actor Mickey Rourke, Michael Shannon, and Curtis Jackson aka 50 Cent (distributor: Paramount Vantage); THE EXPERIMENT, a thriller starring Academy Award® winning actors Adrien Brody and Forrest Whitaker (distributor: Sony Pictures, Netflix); and DARK TIDE, a thriller starring Academy Award® winner Halle Berry, directed by John Stockwell (distributor: Lionsgate), and more. In US Television Ms. Milio developed, financed, produced, and distributed fiction and non-fiction series including the competition series GLOBAL BEAUTY MASTERS (TLC) and its spin-off series THE LOOK ALL-STARS (CW Network). She further managed the TV series and brand DOG WHISPERER WITH CESAR MILLAN, which aired for nine seasons on the National Geographic Channel and sold in over 180 countries, and she recently co-created, financed, and produced two seasons for the new series DOG MASTERS, starring Laura Nativo and Alex Rossi. She also co-produced the series OPERATION HIDDEN TREASURES, which recently aired on the Discovery Channel and the American Heroes Channel. Since 2006 Ms. Milio focused on financing content and was active in all sectors applicable in the entertainment industry such as debt financing and asset backed lending with banks and debt lenders (incl. Comerica, Union Bank, JP Morgan Chase, Mercantile Bank, Deutsche Bank, Commerz Bank, and others), as well as bridge lending and equity financing with media funds in the US and abroad. Ms. Milio ran Far East National Bank's media fund, as well as the related Camden Equity fund, which financed over forty film and television projects under her management. Subsequently, Ms. Milio structured and launched her own film fund (Magnet Media), which financed theatrical features and series with a production volume of $60 million to date. Furthermore, Ms. Milio structures media funds for private clients, family offices and commercial institutions in the global alternative investment space, and she consults Film Incentive Offices in the US and abroad in optimizing their production incentive structures, and the training of local industry professionals in writing, production, entertainment finance and distribution.
Jeanette is represented by The Gersh Agency as the creator and writer of two television series, which are in negotiations with a leading streamer.
Jeanette B. Milio is the author of the recently published book ENTERTAINMENT FINANCE TODAY, a comprehensive guide to financing, producing, and distributing film and television content today. She is a member of the Producer's Council for The Producers Guild of America and the Cannes Film Festival Producer's Network.
Jeanette enjoys teaching for various educational platforms, including Stage32 and the UCLAx Entertainment Studies Program, where she recently received the 2022 Distinguished Instructor Award.
