There's an update on the final season of Stranger Things.  Production began on the eight new episodes in January and word is that filming on season five is halfway done.

Entertainment Squad, the boutique distribution company founded by Shaked Berenson, has acquired the relationship comedy In Fidelity, starring Chris Parnell (Saturday Night Live, Fallout) and Cara Buono (Stranger Things, Mad Men), as well as Dennis Haysbert and Illeana Douglas.

The company is planning a release early next year.

‘The Repair Shop’ Outfit Ricochet Signs Damon Pattison

The Repair Shop outfit Ricochet has signed up British indie vet Damon Pattison as its Creative Director. Reporting to MD Joanna Ball, Pattison will be responsible for developing, pitching and securing new commissions across all genres for the Warner Bros. Discovery-backed outfit. Pattison, who replaces Katy Thorogood, most recently ran Banijay-backed Beyond’s UK production arm but it was shuttered last year. He previously worked for BBC Studios and Keo Films, and set up Lucky Day Productions in 2007, which was sold to Zodiak Media Group. News has been slowly coming out about the next season of Stranger Things, which has now entered into production this week after a very long wait with the show impacted greatly by the strikes. In a new interview with the YouTube channel Steve Varley, actor Eduardo Franco has said he’s not currently involved in the fifth season likely ruling out the return of Argyle.

As a quick refresher, Argyle was introduced in season 4 following the Byers’ move to California and serves as Jonathan’s best friend throughout the series. The character is best known for his long hair and his job as a pizza delivery boy for Surfer Boy Pizza. He was an excellent and comedic addition to last season and quickly became a fan favorite.

The actor was interviewed for his recent role on Self-Reliance, which has been streaming on Hulu since January 3rd.

Netflix announced filming is officially underway on the fifth – and final – season of the critically acclaimed, award-winning drama Stranger Things. The streaming service released the first photo from behind the scenes on the much-anticipated (and much-delayed) season five.

The cast of the final season includes Noah Schnapp, Millie Bobby Brown, Joe Keery, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, and Finn Wolfhard. Sadie Sink, David Harbour, Winona Ryder, Cara Buona, Charlie Heaton, Maya Hawke, and Natalia Dyer also star.

When we last reported on the final season of Netflix’s smash hit series “Stranger Things,” production was targeting a start date of January 8, 2024. They met their target date; Netflix announced this morning that “Stranger Things 5” has officially begun production.

Netflix shared a behind the scenes image of the assembled cast accompanying the announcement, below.

“Stranger Things 5” will be the Final season of Netflix‘s hit series, and Netflix recently announced during their Tudum event that Terminator icon Linda Hamilton will star.

The director behind last year’s Hulu hit Prey, Dan Trachtenberg (10 Cloverfield Lane) is headed to the Upside Down to direct an episode of “Stranger Things 5,” we also learned.

The Season 4 finale set the stage for a final season that will bring the action entirely back to Hawkins, with the rift between Hawkins and the Upside Down now completely opened up by the monster behind it all, Vecna.

Edward R. Matthews, CEO of Adapt Community Network, announced today that the Adapt Leadership Awards will take place on Wednesday, March 13th, 2024, at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York City.

The awards gala will support the important ongoing work of the non-profit organization.

Stranger Things is now a stage play in London and a star-studded crowd stepped out for the world premiere’s opening night performance.

The TV show’s star David Harbour was joined by wife Lily Allen at the event on Thursday night (December 14) at the Phoenix Theatre in London, England.

Stranger Things actors Matthew Modine and Cara Buono were also in attendance, as were the show’s creators the Duffer Brothers.

A few months ago, it was announced that 10 Cloverfield Lane and Prey director Dan Trachtenberg will be directing an episode of Stranger Things season 5 – which also happens to be the final season of the hugely popular Netflix streaming series. That season was supposed to be deep into production by now, but has been delayed several months due to the writers and actors strikes.
