Edward Burnham had a lengthy career on screen which commenced in pioneer television as far back as 1938. He was best known for his two appearances on 'Doctor Who', claiming in an interview that he was given the part of Professor Kettlewell in 'Robot' "because he could create a mad professor hairstyle without the cost of a wig being added to the budget".
