John Peaslee, the writer and producer who worked alongside his longtime creative partner, Judd Pillot, on such sitcoms as Coach, Just Shoot Me!, According to Jim and Liv and Maddie, has died. He was 73.

Peaslee died Monday of natural causes at his home in Sherman Oaks, Pillot announced. The two had collaborated for 35 years.

“I will be forever thankful to the universe that I was with him for several hours that day, that I was able to hold his hand, recount all the stories — way too many to tell, but not nearly enough to fill the hole in my heart,” Pillot wrote on Instagram.

Peaslee and Pillot teamed on ABC’s Coach from 1989-93, on NBC’s Just Shoot Me! from 2002-03, on ABC’s According to Jim from 2005-09 and on Disney Channel’s Liv and Maddie from 2013-17.

Exclusive: Concord Originals has partnered with Outfest Fusion to launch a one-of-a-kind short film financing and IP licensing initiative, in support of up-and-coming Lgbtqia+ filmmakers of color.

During Outfest Los Angeles in July, eligible filmmakers will pitch original short films incorporating one of three Concord-licensed songs to Outfest’s Artistic Director Faridah Gbadamosi, Concord Originals’ Director of Development and Production, Charles Hopkins, and a special guest judge yet to be announced. Not only is she involved in Niki Byrne’s US homecoming drama Evan Wood but Covid-19 has brought her back to her native state of Victoria for an extended period.

As someone who spent more than three years living in Vancouver and regularly divides her time between LA and Australia, Bruce told If she felt “very lucky” to be able to reunite with her family in the rural town Ross Creek prior to the pandemic taking hold.

Created by Steve and Nancy Carell, the cop-show parody starred Rashida Jones as a lone-wolf Lapd detective alongside Hayes MacArthur, Jere Burns, Deon Cole and Andrée Vermeulen. The most recent season added “Boardwalk Empire” alum Bobby Cannavale as Jones’ son. Ira Ungerleider served as executive producer and showrunner.

The move to cancel “Angie Tribeca” comes nearly five months after TBS debuted the entire fourth season across two days in late December. The finale episode was watched by 273,000 total viewers.

There had been persistent chatter that Angie Tribeca was done after it wrapped its fourth (and now final) season in December. A number of cast members already have moved on, getting other gigs.

Angie Tribeca was in the same situation as two other TBS comedy series, Wrecked and The Guest Book. Wrecked officially was canceled last month, while there still isn’t a formal decision on the Greg Garcia anthology The Guest Book.

The cop comedy follows Angie (Rashida Jones), a detective with lone-wolf tendencies. Along with a squad of committed Lapd detectives, she investigates the most serious cases — from the murder of a ventriloquist to a rash of baker suicides. It’s back to the future this weekend for TBS’ screwball Lapd comedy. Just like it did for its rookie year in 2016, Season 4 of Angie Tribeca will be available to binge with a two-night marathon this weekend. Watch the new trailer above.

Episodes 1-5 of the new season starring Rashida Jones as the title cop will air starting at 8 p.m. Saturday, followed by 6-10 at 8 p.m. Sunday. The series launched with a 25-hour marathon in January 2016.

There are a couple of new series-regular faces for this go-round, with Bobby Cannavale playing Tribeca’s estranged son Angie Jr. and Kiersey Clemons as Maria Charo, a rebellious genius recruited from a local college who speaks 50 different languages — but only at the tourist level. She also is a tech expert, whose only weakness is computers.

Call off the search party: After a year and a half off the air, TBS’ cop comedy Angie Tribeca is back on the beat… this weekend, actually.

Season 4 of the goofy Rashida Jones-led comedy will premiere in its entirety this Saturday (8/7c) and Sunday (8/7c), with all 10 new episodes airing in two separate blocks. (Episodes 1 through 5 air Saturday, and Episodes 6 through 10 air Sunday.) All 10 Season 4 episodes will also be available to stream at TBS.com and on the TBS app.

North of Two has acquired worldwide distribution rights to the dark coming-of-age drama “Adolescence,” starring India Eisley and Mickey River with Ashley Avis directing, Variety has learned exclusively.

The film was produced by Winterstone Pictures and is set to make its festival debut this fall. River portrays a shy teenager who falls in love with a beautiful, enigmatic runaway, played by Eisley, and is lured away from his bland life and into her vibrant and unpredictable world. He slips down a progressively dark path, filled with raging parties, drugs, and eventually heroin addiction.

The cast also includes Romeo Miller, Tommy Flanagan, Elisabeth Rohm, Jere Burns, Ever Carradine, Michael Milford, and Zac Brown Band member John Driskell Hopkins.

This Week’s Dossier

Somebody’s harvesting organs for non-organ-donation purposes, and Mulder and Scully are on the case to figure out why — but there’s really not much mystery to it after we get introduced to the wacky cult created by former film and TV star Barbara Beaumont (Fiona Vroom, whose goofy performance is one of the episode’s biggest positives), who is working with Dr. Luvenis (Jere Burns) to use the organs of their cult underlings to give themselves eternal beauty and life. (And hey, it seems to be working, given that Barbara’s in her 70s and Dr.

Like the title of the next episode of The X-Files says, "Nothing Lasts Forever," and we're already coming to the final two installments of the eleventh season. While we'll have to wait and see if more new episodes await us in the future or if this really is the end for Mulder and Scully, a new trailer promises plenty of action, drama, romance, and family time in the final two episodes of season 11.

Workaholics is a wonderful comedy that fits right in at Comedy Central, but can the trio break out into the film world? If this teaser trailer for their new film Game Over, Man! has anything to say about it, then Yes.

This teaser is for the original Netflix film Game Over, Man!, an action comedy that looks like it makes fun of the action film genre. It is directed by Workaholics director Kyle Newacheck with Workaholics stars Adam Devine, Anders Holm, and Blake Anderson as the Leads. Also starring in the film will be Jere Burns.

The teaser is simple, but still shows some fun and the great chemistry of the main three leads. It's about three friends who are just about to get their video game financed when a terrorist takes over. Sounds like a Die Hard-inspired story, but with the Workaholic guys, and that is definitely not a bad thing.
