Born in Rosario, Argentina, in September 1962.
Graduated with a «Master of Arts in Image Synthesis and Computer Animation» from Middlesex University, UK (1993).
He has directed eight feature films, among them «El Ratón Pérez» (aka "The Hairy Tooth Fairy") (2006) huge box office success in Latina America and Spain, and Official selection at Toronto Film Festival 2006), Tribeca (2007) and Goya Award 2007, also «The Games Maker" (aka "El Inventor de Juegos» (2014), co production among Canada, Italia and Argentina, with and international cast leaded by Joseph Fiennes, David Mazouz, Ed Asner, Tom Cavanagh and Megan Charpentier, shot in original English language and stereoscopic 3D, and selected in sixteen top film festivals, like Sundance, Valladolid, Munich, Seattle, Dubai and Giffoni, and winner of the Jury's Award at Stockholm Film Festival (2015) and best film at "Barne Festival" , Norway, (2015), and three "Sur" awards (Production Design, Make Up and Costume Design) from the Argentinean Film Academy. In 2015 he directed the European movie "Tini, el gran cambio de Violetta", produced by The Walt Disney Co., and shot in Italy and Spain. He's creator and show runner for "El grito de las mariposas" (aka "The roar of the butterflies"), a fictional TV show based on the epic life of Mirabal sisters under Trujillo dictatorship, that will be worldwide released by Star+ by 8th march 2023.
Juan Pablo is founder and partner of Pampa Films, a leading film and TV production company, based in Buenos Aires. Since 2007, the studio has produced eighteen movies, most of them worldwide distributed due to their artistic and technical quality. Among them, can be highlighted "La Señal" (2007), "La leyenda"(2008), "Un cuento chino" (2011) (Goya Award 2012 as the best Iberoamerican film), "Peter Capusotto 3D" (2012), "Francisco, el padre Jorge" (2015), "Koblic" (2016), "Nieve Negra" (2017) . "Joel" (2017), "No dormirás" (2018), "La gallina turuleca" (2019) and "Un crimen argentino" (2022). In partnership with Disney Media Distribution, Pampa Films also developed and produced "Monzon", a thirteen episodes' TV show that has reached top reviews and massive audience attention, since its release in Latin America by Turner, last June 2019.
