- Born and raised in San Francisco, Rocky was the first to bring the stunt business and stunt groups to San Francisco Bay Area. Started SF Stuntman's Association over 25 years ago and the RCP Stunt Group in 1990, along with the RCP Charities a couple of years later. Still bases in Northern California, although working worldwide on over 600 plus productions.
- Named his Boxing training facility after actor Robert Conrad's Character in wild wild west, Gym West. Started boxing at age 6 and has trained other fighters, boxed and refereed in AAU boxing for over 30 years . Stills trains on a daily basis.
- RCP charities golf tournament, "The Stuntmans Scramble", is considered one of the most fun events in the industry. This "Caddyshack" style charity golf tournament is held annually in Carmel California, with awards going to worst dressed, teams score, worst sport or the horses ass trophy, plus the free owl of soup award to name a few. All proceeds go directly to individuals needing help through the RCP programs: Student and Teacher scholarships, The Christmas Toy drive for needy children, people ALS and Alzheimers , affected by Cancer, and injured or sick stunt people and other film makers. see the website at: http://www.rockycapella.com/charities/index.html
The RCP Special General Fund has been giving donations over the last few years for those affected by the fires in California and other emergencies. - Rocky began his stunt coordinating career working on Squada Anti Truffa (The Swindler), an Italian film shot in San Francisco. Rocky continued to work with the producers on several more of their Italian action films, directing the stunt action. Then on "Lightblast", a film starring Erik Estrada, Rocky got direct the first unit when the director quit the show for a couple of days, (a common occurance on these Italian films).
- After graduating high school, Rocky had an opportunity to attend the Naval Academy but instead pursued his dream of being a stuntman. Although his father was a Fighter Pilot and 27 year Naval Vet, he supported his decision. Rocky's parents, and entire family have always been close and have been his strength and support through out his career, with several of them working on his movies.
- The Guitar Man, a film Rocky directed, won the first film festival we entered. The Guitar Man won the audience award for best Narrative feature at the SF Indie Festival. Since our first Film Festival in 2018, Guitar Man has won awards in 9 of the 11 Film Festivals we have been accepted so far. See the website at: http://guitarmanthemovie.com.
- In Feb. 2018, Guitar Man, a film Rocky directed, won the Audience Award for Best Narrative feature film at the SF Indie Film festival. It was the first film festival that we entered Guitar Man in and we have been invited to many more since we won this event.
- Guitar Man, written and directed by Rocky Capella and produced by Ray Robinson was filmed in several correctional facilities throughout Northern California, including San Quentin. The Guitar Man team was allowed to shoot in places at San Quentin where no other production company was allowed to shoot in the past.
