The drama heats up on The Young and the Restless as the clock counts down to midnight in Genoa City. Lauralee Bell and Michael Damian sat down with Soap Hub to discuss the situation between Danny and Cricket as they try to ring in the New Year together.
Happy New Year!
New Year’s in Genoa City starts on December 30, 2024, and it will end on January 2, 2025. Both Damian and Bell will be on Y&r on December 30 and January 2. As the clock races to midnight on 2024, Cricket anxiously awaits Danny’s return to Genoa City. “Cricket leaves [the tour] a couple of days early to go see Nina [Tricia Cast] on her way home, and we meet in Genoa City,” Bell explains.
Unfortunately for the reunited supercouple, Danny experiences some difficulty getting back to town in time. Damian revealed that Danny is trying hard to make it home in time to ring in 2025 with Cricket.

The Young and the Restless characters come and go in Genoa City. When someone leaves the Wisconsin town, it doesn’t mean they’re gone forever. Y&r surprised fans this year with unexpected character returns. As 2025 nears, here are a few familiar faces we’d love to see.
Genoa City’s Newest Detective
The Genoa City police department needs more help, with Paul (Doug Davidson) retired and Chance’s (Conner Floyd) questionable detective skills. Who better to clean up the crime than Ronan Malloy (Jeff Branson)?
Ronan is Nina’s (Tricia Cast) and Chance’s half-brother. He was a central character on Y&r from 2010 to 2012. While the detective did a great job protecting Genoa City, his personal life was messy because of failed romances with Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson) and Phyllis (Michelle Stafford).
Ronan’s return would give Genoa City another detective and cause conflict with Chance. As for Ronan’s love life,...

The Young and The Restless spoilers and updates tease there’s a lot of buzz around Nina Webster’s potential return.
Even though nothing has been announced concerning a return of Chance Chancellor’s (Conner Floyd) mother, portrayer Tricia Cast’s latest Instagram post may hold a hint!
The Young And The Restless Spoilers – A Little Background Information
Tricia Cast has been portraying the character of Nina on The Young and the Restless intermittently since 1986, when the show had been on 13 years.
While Nina may have departed from Genoa City, Tricia has frequently returned to reconnect with her television family and friends. If the latest rumors hold any truth, we might soon see Nina making yet another comeback, although nothing’s in stone.

Tricia Cast has been playing Nina on The Young and the Restless on and off since 1986. Although Nina has left Genoa City, the author has often returned to visit family and friends. And if recent speculation is true, the character could be making another return soon.
Instagram Post Hints At Nina’s Return
After playing Nina full-time for 15 years, Cast left Y&r in 2001 when she decided to move from California to Tennessee. However, she was always willing to return to the soap opera when needed.
In recent years, Nina’s return has been centered around her son Chance (Conner Floyd) or her friend Christine (Lauralee Bell). Her last appearance came in November 2023 when Chance was shot in the line of duty. The character might be gearing up for another Genoa City return a year after her last visit.
Recently, Cast sparked rumors of a Nina return with an Instagram post.

Soap characters go through changes all the time. You never know what’s going to happen on daytime TV. That was the case for Conner Floyd’s character, Chance Chancellor, on The Young and the Restless. The actor teased that Chance will deal with a big change in the coming week.
Goodbye to the Corporate World
Floyd teased an update about his Y&R character on Instagram. On Monday, October 7, he shared a photo of himself holding Chance’s Law Enforcement Officer badge. Chance was previously working at Abbott-Chancellor. After getting shot, he thought he would have better luck in the corporate world.
However, the business world is just as lethal, albeit figuratively. Chance didn’t fit in with his new position, so he returned to his previous position as Genoa City’s police detective. Chance is needed since there’s been an investigation into Heather’s (Vail Bloom) murder.

On Sunday, The Young and the Restless will officially celebrate 50 years on CBS. For star Lauralee Bell, it’s more than just a celebration; it’s a tribute to the work of her dad William J. Bell, who created the No. 1 daytime drama with his wife, Lee, in 1973.
It’s also a heady reminder that Bell — along with her brother Bradley, who’s the head writer on The Bold and the Beautiful — is one of daytime’s most important stewards. “We’re representing dad in such big way,” said Bell of her father, who died in 2005. Her mom passed in 2020. “I was getting ready to do an interview the other day and out of nowhere this huge, overwhelming feeling came over me. I wondered, did dad ever consider that he wouldn’t be here at one point and did it make him feel a little bit better knowing that Brad and I were all in?...

Sally Spectra’s brutal firing from the fictional Newman Media may be nothing compared to the real-life pink slips just handed out in the writing department at CBS’s top-rated daytime drama “The Young and the Restless.”
Co-executive producer and head writer Josh Griffith has sacked all five writers that comprised the show’s breakdown writing staff, multiple individuals with knowledge of the situation told TheWrap.
According to one insider, Griffith said eliminating the breakdown writing staff — those writers responsible for mapping out story lines across multiple episodes — is a cost-cutting move, and that he will take on the task of writing breakdowns himself.
“The timing of the firings is suspect given that WGA negotiations were coming up and the show is celebrating a major milestone with its 50th anniversary,” the individual said. “Even more brutal is that four of the five writers of the breakdown staff are all women,...

On Aug. 26-27, the CBS soap will mark the one-year anniversary of Katherine's death with a remembrance ceremony in Chancellor Park that brings back actors Tricia Cast (Nina) and Michael Fairman (Murphy).

Jason Bateman scored his second career Emmy nomination this year for playing Michael Bluth on "Arrested Development," eight years after first being nominated for the role.
That's great and all -- but in a certain part of the pop-culture consciousness, he'll always be Matthew Burton.
You know, the lead character of "It's Your Move"? The one-season NBC sitcom from 1984-85?
Welcome to Before They Were Emmy Nominees. Each Tuesday and Wednesday between now and the Emmy Awards on Sept. 22, we're going to look back at some early and obscure roles of a few of this year's acting nominees. (See Zap2it's Before They Were Nominees photo gallery.)
"It's Your Move" came from Ron Leavitt and Michael G. Moye, the future creators of "Married ... With Children." Bateman's Matthew was a teenage prankster and scam artist who lived with his sister (Tricia Cast) and their mom (Caren Kaye). Matthew met his match...

Longtime fans of CBS' The Young and the Restless remember when Lauralee Bell's character Christine Blair — aka Cricket — was the abstinence-promoting saint of Genoa City. But since she left home to become a hotshot Beltway lawyer, Cricket has been scandalously nutty in her occasional returns to town, drunkenly making out with Nick (Joshua Morrow) and hitting the sack with her ex-husband Danny (Michael Damian). Now this! On Nov. 16, Cricket shares a kiss with her other ex-hubby Paul (Doug Davidson), who is currently in love with her best friend Nina (Tricia Cast). What the hell is our girl thinking? TV Guide Magazine spoke with Bell about this jaw-dropper development and what it's like to remain at Y&R after her sister-in-law, Maria Bell, was ousted as exec producer.

Jason Katims says a Friday Night Lights movie would start with a considerable time jump. Damon Lindelof does not appreciate Doug Hutchison being referred to as a Lost actor. Breaking Bad is likely to stay put on AMC. Tom Wlaschiha joins the cast of Game Of Thrones. Y&R's Jeff Branson excited to be back and working with Tricia Cast. Esta TerBlanche's return to All My Children confirmed by ABC. TV for women is at a crossroads. Women still watch considerably more television than men -- by almost 16 hours per month.
Friday Night Nights exec producer Jason Katims talks plans for a(nother) big-screen movie
Nothing is set in stone, cautions Katims, but the movie would probably “start with a time jump from when we ended the series, and quite possibly a considerable time jump.”

It’s Emmy time this Sunday, soap fans! Though the TV Academy also uses the annual ceremony (airing live on CBS at 8 p.m. Et) to honor game and talk shows, the real competition lies in the drama categories. Will James Franco’s much-ballyhooed appearance on General Hospital help the ABC soap take the top prize? Will the soon-to-canceled All My Children earn a sympathy trophy?
