“The Flight Attendant” is not getting another season at Max, Variety has confirmed.
The series, which starred Kaley Cuoco, aired two seasons at the streamer. It originally debuted on Max in 2020, with the second season airing in 2022.
“What started out as an attention-grabbing book cover quickly evolved into an extraordinary flight of a lifetime,” Cuoco said in a statement. “I always envisioned Tfa as a limited series and thanks to an incredible creative team, we were able to deliver two thrilling seasons. Personally, playing Cassie has been a dream come true and I am so grateful for everyone who played a part in bringing this extremely original series to life.”
The show was based on the Chris Bohjalian novel of the same name. It debuted to critical acclaim, with Cuoco and the series earning Golden Globe and Emmy nominations for the first season, while Cuoco was nominated for an Emmy...

The Flight Attendant will not be returning for a third season. The show, which was originally set as a limited series, aired two seasons on Max, with the second season ending in May 2022.
The move follows comments from star and executive producer Kaley Cuoco after the second season that the “plane had landed.” “I just kind of feel like we just ended,” she told People at the time.
The first season, which premiered in November 2020, followed Cuoco’s alcoholic, globe-trotting flight attendant Cassie Bowden who became embroiled in an espionage plot following her affair with a first class passenger, who winds up murdered after their night together.
The second season saw Bowden return with a fresh start in Los Angeles, sober and moonlighting as a CIA asset in her spare time. But when an overseas assignment leads her to inadvertently witness a murder, she becomes entangled in another international intrigue.

Year 2023 will be remembered in Hollywood for various phenomena — the strikes, Barbenheimer — but for Latinos, 2023 was the year that saw a relatively significant number of movies and TV releases from and about their community, in a variety of genres. With actors and writers spending about half of last year unable to promote their projects, the atmosphere at Neuehouse in Hollywood was all the more electric last Friday evening as a who’s who of Latin entertainment, media, sports and politics came together to toast the excellence they saw on the big and small screens.
The event, La Cena Los Angeles, was an expansion of the intimate multi-city La Cena dinner series started last year by culture and impact consultant Ruben Garcia, formerly co-head of cultural business strategy at CAA, to cultivate community among impactful Latino figures across disciplines.

Chris O’Shea has joined the HBO Max drama pilot “More” in a series regular role, Variety has learned exclusively.
O’Shea will star in the pilot along with previously announced lead Christian Serratos and cast members Ana Ortiz, Yvette Monreal, Georgie Flores, Ceci Fernandez, and Gore Abrams.
The show is inspired by the reporting of journalist Amy Chozick. Per the official description, “‘More’ follows the Lorenz family, a tight-knit clan of seemingly flawless Latinas led by mom/mastermind Leona (Ortiz). The Lorenzes are the Vanderbilts or the Astors of the Instagram era. They pulled their way up from debt and obscurity to reality TV stardom and forged a billion-dollar mega-conglomerate not from oil or steel but from something more elusive and modern: Influence.”
O’Shea will star as Timothy Wilde, described as a lesser British aristocrat engaged to Londyn (Serratos), making him one half of ‘Lonothy,’ social media‘s most buzzed-about and closely-watched celebrity couples.

Kaley Cuoco seems satisfied with two seasons of The Flight Attendant.

Cuoco said the best thing about the Season 2 finale, which aired Thursday, is that the series “could definitely be done or it’s definitely open to continuing.”

Kaley Cuoco and Zosia Mamet Share How ‘The Flight Attendant’ Season 2 Hit Close to Home at FYC Event
Sure, the HBO Max series “The Flight Attendant,” about an alcoholic airline employee who ends up becoming a C.I.A. asset, is best known for its impressively out-there story beats, but for its cast, Season 2 hits a lot closer to home than one would think.
“I was going through so much this year, and so a lot of it was real,” said star Kaley Cuoco of her Season 2 performance as the titular flight attendant Cassie Bowden. Speaking to the audience of the comedy’s FYC event on Thursday night at the Television Academy’s Saban Media Center in Los Angeles, she joked that it’s even “almost a little silly” when she receives compliments on her ability to access those darker emotions for the show’s more dramatic scenes.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for The Flight Attendant Season 2 finale, “Backwards and Forwards.”] The Flight Attendant Season 2 didn’t just leave Cassie (Kaley Cuoco) in a good place when it comes to her sobriety — 30 days, but seemingly in a better place to reach the one year she’d claimed she’d had but really didn’t — and her work (she unraveled the double mystery) and friends. It also gave hope for what’s ahead for her relationship with her mother, Lisa (Sharon Stone). But first, we had to actually meet Lisa, something that executive producer Natalie Chaidez pushed for. “I was initially resistant to it because I thought we dealt with the dad in Season 1. It feels like now to hand over to the mom, I don’t know what that’s gonna feel like, but Natalie was persuasive and we went in that direction and I think it was the right call,” executive producer...

When “Fresh Off the Boat” premiered in 2015, only a handful of shows with a predominantly Asian American cast had ever aired in primetime — and none of them lasted long. But the success of that ABC sitcom, which spanned six seasons, 116 episodes and made it to syndication, finally inspired a long-overdue boom in series and films featuring Asian American leads — including “Doogie Kamealoha, M.D.,” from “Fresh Off the Boat” producing partners Jake Kasdan and Melvin Mar.
“Fresh Off the Boat” may have ended, but Kasdan and Mar — who have been based at 20th TV for more than a dozen years — are continuing to lead TV’s expansion in Asian American and Pacific Islander representation. As Aapi Heritage Month coincidentally gets underway this May, Kasdan and Mar currently have eight active TV and film projects, all showcasing different elements of the vast Aapi experience.

"There's no world in which we weren't going to have Miranda back in some way, shape, or form. And I think this was the perfect opportunity," series creator Steve Yockey shared with TV Fanatic.
"She was a huge fan favorite in season one," co-showrunner Natalie Chaidez added.
"I think the fun of bringing her back in the unexpected way of stabbing a man in the back in a full-on, beautiful leather puffer and then getting shot in the leg again really leans into the fun of that character."
Chaidez adds that Miranda's bond with Cassie as her mentor was important, so...

First of all, in Iceland, Miranda (Michelle Gomez) comes to Cassie and Megan’s rescue — Megan has a bounty on her head from the North Koreans — and helps them get out of the country. “Miranda was, of course, a fan-favorite in Season 1, and we wanted to bring her back with a real splash in Season 2,” executive producer Natalie Chaidez tells TV Insider. “It was pure joy on the set to have [Kaley and Michelle]. The Flight Attendant Season 2 premieres Thursday, April 21, on HBO Max.
TV Fanatic got the chance to speak with the cast and showrunners ahead of the highly-anticipated premiere.
As previously reported in our Flight Attendant Season 2 review, Cassie (Kaley Cuoco) is in a much different place when we pick back up.
"When we meet Cassie at the top of season two, she appears to be an entirely new Cassie. She's a year into her sobriety," teases co-showrunner Natalie Chaidez.
"In fact, she has matching appliances. She does yoga. She has a super hot perfect boyfriend, so we were definitely making a choice to set where she is at the beginning of the season so that we could sort of unravel it and see what was beneath the veneer and peel away."
Chaidez says that this makes for a very different show because it highlights that Cassie is making better choices.

Kaley Cuoco has had enough of working with herself.
In Season 2 of “The Flight Attendant,” she returns to the HBO Max series as Cassie Bowden. Newly sober, she’s still a flight attendant, but has a side job working for the CIA. Throughout the season, Cassie encounters numerous clones of herself.
“Our team had many meetings with the team behind ‘Orphan Black’ because we did the same sort of thing,” Cuoco told me on Tuesday night at “The Flight Attendant” premiere at the Pacific Design Center. “I’ve never seen or done anything like this. I had many body doubles. Many girls that worked against me and acted against me.”
“Literally walk on Warner Bros. and you’d see so many of me walking around,” she continued. “They’re like, ‘I just saw you at the coffee.’ And I’m like, ‘No, I’m over in my trailer.’ There were...

The Girls on the Bus‘ long journey to the small screen has come to a successful conclusion with a straight-to-series order at HBO Max.
The drama series adaptation of Amy Chozick’s best-selling book Chasing Hillary, from Julie Plec, Chozick, Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. TV, originally landed at Netflix with a series order two and a half years ago and moved to the CW for development earlier in this broadcast cycle.
The project did not go to pilot at the broadcast network co-owned by Warner Bros. and ViacomCBS, though CW brass were interested in pursuing the project as a collaboration with Wbtv corporate sibling streamer HBO Max, I hear. That is not in consideration at the moment for the series, which has started casting its leads, sources said.

Steve Yockey, the creator and co-showrunner of HBO Max’s “The Flight Attendant,” has developed a new dark comedy series that has gotten a script to series order at Fox.
The single-camera project is titled “Cindy Snow.” The series follows the title character, who is the most popular local meteorologist in Savannah, Ga. But behind the cameras, she’s — not nice. When a freak head injury at work triggers surreal glimpses of the future, Cindy’s life quickly unspools. Cindy is then cosmically dragged towards being a better person, kicking and screaming the entire way.
Yockey will write the series in addition to serving as executive producer and showrunner. The show will be co-produced by Fox Entertainment and Warner Bros. Television.

Progress continues to be incremental in front of and behind television cameras in Hollywood. An October 2021 UCLA Television Diversity study examined 461 scripted television shows airing or streaming during the 2019-20 season. It revealed that only 32.1 percent of scripted broadcast network shows, 28.1 percent on cable TV, and 26.8 percent on streaming platforms, featured majority non-white casts. Each category saw an increase of roughly 2-3 percent over the previous season. In summary, despite popular claims of a “renaissance” for Bipoc creatives in Hollywood (especially for African Americans), there’s still much work to be done on the matter of inclusion in all job areas.
As their study states, the Bipoc group is not proportionately represented to their share of the U.S. population, even though audience interest in programming with talent that represents the nation’s diversity, continues to increase.
When Bipoc narratives are controlled by non-bipoc creatives, character story lines may lack authenticity,...

The Flight Attendant took off for HBO Max when it launched in November. So much so that the streamer and the team, led by star and exec producer Kaley Cuoco, decided to make a second season.
Cuoco’s character Cassie Bowen, who is caught in the middle of a deadly murder plot in Season 1, cleans up and moves to Los Angeles for the second season, helped by the fact that the series scored a tax break from the state of California.
“I was very clear when we decided we wanted to do a second season, that I didn’t want Cassie to all of a sudden be like an amazing FBI agent,” Cuoco said during the series’ panel at Deadline’s Contenders Television awards-season event. “We are going to be adding in that slight CIA asset on the side. [Cassie] moves to L.A., first year sober, and she makes all...

She teams with creator Steve Yockey
Natalie Chaidez has joined HBO Max’s “The Flight Attendant” as co-showrunner for Season 2. She’ll team with series creator Steve Yockey in the role.
“The Flight Attendant” is described as a “dark comedic thriller” starring Kaley Cuoco as a flight attendant wakes up in the wrong hotel, in the wrong bed, with a dead man — and no idea what happened. Season 1 was based on the novel of the same name by Chris Bohjalian, with Season 2 set to follow Cuoco’s character on a “new adventure,” per HBO Max.
Chaidez most recently served as executive producer and writer on USA Network crime drama “Queen of the South,” which earlier this month returned for its fifth and final season at the cable network.
