In West Germany from 1962, she then had theatrical engagements at the Volksbühne Berlin, at the Münchner Kammerspiele,the Deutschen Theater Göttingen and the Staatlichen Schauspielbühnen Berlin. She was an ensemble member of the Münchner Volkstheater from 2007 to 2008.
She was born Evelyne Gutmann, raised and educated in Bucharest, Romania, the daughter of a German-Romanian dentist. After attending the University of Bucharest, she made her screen debut in 1957.
