Ismat Chughtai was born on 21 August 1915 in Badayun, United Province, Uttar Pradesh, India. She was a writer and director, known for Garm Hava (1974), Arzoo (1950) and Fareb (1953). She was married to Shaheed Latif. She died in 1991.
