Veteran actor Cioffi has appeared on television and in films. He may be best-remembered for his roles as Tom Cruise's blue-collar widower father in All the Right Moves (1983), as revenge-seeking Ernesto Toscano on NBC's soap Days of Our Lives (1965), and, for those whose memories go a bit further back, as the killer stalking Jane Fonda in the thriller Klute (1971), for which she won her first Academy Award.

He can be heard on Pink Floyd's album, "The Wall". One of his scenes from Another World (1964) was used as the TV program in the background while the groupie is walking through the apartment ("Are all these your guitars?"), immediately before the song "One of My Turns". He can be heard saying, "Let me know when you're entering a room" which corresponds with the girl walking into Pink's room.
