Randel Cole graduated from Boston University School of Communications (1973) with a film major and he obtained his masters degree from Emerson College in Boston. He also was selected for the American Film Institute summer writing program. Mt. Cole began his career as a cinematographer in the Peace Corps, stationed in Rabat, Morocco. He returned to the unemployment lines and worked as a carpenter and union organizer while also free lancing as a cinematographer. In 1979, he took a position as a film technician at Emerson College and as a member of the adjunct faculty. In 1981, he founded Rampion Visual Productions in Boston with Steven Tringali. This film and video production company serviced corporate, commercial, documentary and original programming. The company featured a cyclorama wall studio with automated lighting grid, film and video editing suites, and a computer graphics and design department. Clients included Fortune 500 companies. In 1996, Mr. Cole sold his interests and moved to Manhattan where he has continued to produce theater and feature films. His work has had theatrical releases, distributed worldwide, commercial television, PBS, and select film festivals, including Cannes and Tribeca.
