[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for The Way Home Season 3 Episode 4 “I’ll Have to Say I Love You in a Song.”] Well, it’s really looking like Alice (Sadie Laflamme-Snow) might be right about Casey (Vaughan Murrae), Kat’s (Chyler Leigh) intern she thinks is from the future. (Her first clue: She saw them wearing Kat’s engagement ring on a necklace.) They said they’re a Goodwin, but Alice meets Max Goodwin in the latest Way Home episode, and he says he doesn’t have a sibling with that name. “Casey is an enigma wrapped in a mystery…” executive producer Alexandra Clarke jokes to TV Insider. “The ripple effect of their presence or lack thereof is going to be felt this season, for sure. And Alice and her theories is a really exciting road to go down.” Adds executive producer Heather Conkie, “Everything has been about the past and now all of a sudden...

This week’s episode of Hallmark’s “The Way Home,” called “The Way We Were,” mixes past and present very interestingly. While examining themes of love, family, and the mysteries of time travel, it introduces 1974 as a significant new period.
After the exciting season premiere, in which the Landry family found their long-lost son, Jacob, this episode details the problems Kat Landry (Chyler Leigh) and Elliot Augustine (Evan Williams) are having. Despite their significant move-in together, their relationship is tense, especially because of the mysterious pond that allows time travel.
When Alice (Sadie Laflamme-Snow) is pulled back to 1974, Kat follows her. This makes things more tense. During a stressful moment, Kat turns down Elliot’s offer to go with her, which leads to an interesting conversation. “No one said Kat was perfect,” says co-showrunner Heather Conkie. “She’s one of the most flawed characters we’ve ever written,”

Spoiler Alert: This post contains spoilers from “The Way We Were,” Season 3, Episode 2 of Hallmark’s “The Way Home,” which streams on Hallmark+.
Everything was coming up Elliot (Evan Williams) in the Jan. 3 Season 3 premiere of “The Way Home” on Hallmark Channel. His surrogate family was reunited with their long-lost son and brother, Jacob (Spencer MacPherson). He and Kat (Chyler Leigh) finally made time to commit to their relationship with each other without a time-traveling pond getting in the way. In terms of life goals, Elliot was knocking it out of the park. While he and Kat took the next step in their relationship – moving in together – in the season’s second episode, there are already some cracks starting to show in one of the show’s central relationships.
“We have these three women, and we always apply past, present and future thematically to them. This season is about Del questioning her past.

The Hallmark Channel’s The Way Home loves leaving its viewers in suspense, and they scored big in Season 3. The third season of “The Way Home,” a time-traveling drama on the Hallmark Channel, debuted on January 3 and featured a meeting that fans had been waiting for two years. Actor Spencer MacPherson played Jacob Landry, who returned to his family in present-day Port Haven after going missing 20 years ago. The opening marked his return.
One of the best parts was the touching moment when Jacob and his mother, Del (Andie MacDowell), met again. “Everyone on set was waiting for that moment as much as the fans are right now,” said Heather Conkie, who helped make the show. It felt so good and was so amazing.” Because the scene was so important, team members from all over the production came to watch it be filmed. This shows how emotionally powerful it was for both the cast and the crew.
However, Jacob’s return brings the Landry family new problems to solve.

“The Way Home” is back on Hallmark Channel, though it took a circuitous route to get here. Hallmark's unique time-travel drama series The Way Home has wandered back for its third season, but will the show score a season 4 renewal? Created for the small screen by Heather Conkie, Alexandra Clarke, and Marly Reed, the show concerns three generations of women from the Landry family as they try to rebuild their fractured relationship while living together in a small Canadian town. While that may sound like the usual Hallmark Channel fodder, the big twist is that the Landry women are also time travelers who can visit the past via a pond on their family property.
Though the time-travel romance genre was popularized by shows like Outlander, The Way Home puts a cozier spin on the idea without skimping on suspense. Each season of the series thus far has introduced new wrinkles into its supernatural elements, and this makes for a fascinating watch. On top of that, new...

The only thing that might be more complicated than the time-travel mysteries on Hallmark Channel’s The Way Home is the love triangle that developed in Season 2 between Kat, Elliot and Thomas.
While Kat and Elliot kissed and fought in the present day, Kat also fought with and kissed (in that order) rum smuggler Thomas in 1814 after growing closer to the man that helped her brother Jacob survive in the past. As the season closed, Kat returned to her time and said goodbye to a vision of Thomas, thinking that he had been shot dead, but then Jacob appeared and revealed that Thomas survived.

The Way Home fans have spoken — and Hallmark executives have listened. A couple of weeks after it was announced that the popular Hallmark Channel series starring Andie MacDowell will migrate from the linear cable network to Hallmark+ for its upcoming third season, the decision has been reversed.

The Way Home, which also stars Chyler Leigh, Evan Williams and Sadie Laflamme-Snow, is the No. 1 most-watched program overall on entertainment cable among homes, viewers and women and persons 18+, per Hallmark.

The first word that comes to mind when most people think of Hallmark Channel is Christmas. The network has made its name (and a lot of its money) on its annual holiday fare that guarantees light-hearted, family-friendly fun, whether you are watching ironically or not. The patented formula of its Christmas movies is a comfort for the droves that watch every year, but Hallmark frequently gets overlooked when it puts down the tinsel and Santa cookie cutters.
This should be the year that changes, because Hallmark has one of the best shows on TV. The multi-generational time-travel drama “The Way Home” is the brainchild of Marly Reed and mother-daughter showrunners Heather Conkie and Alexandra Clarke. It’s one of Hallmark’s biggest hits —and with good reason.

“The Way Home” Season 3: Executive Producer Talks What’s To Come
Speaking at the Atx Television Festival panel, via Variety, Alexandra Clarke, The Way Home’s showrunner revealed there will be a time leap forward following Season 2’s close. What’s the reason for this?
Clarke notes ties to “real-life” elements, stating, “We definitely can confirm that we do have to do a time jump, purely because of when we shoot … We left them, obviously, in November of 2024, and we’re going to be shooting in August. So yeah, we do have to, that’s just the nature of our show. We do have to jump.

For anyone who watches “The Way Home” knows that sometimes, it can get a little confusing with so many different time periods going on at once. That’s the case for the executive producers too. During an FYC panel for the hit Hallmark Channel series on May 8, the showrunners admitted that it takes a lot of work and research to keep everything straight.
“We start at the end and then kind of work backward. We had a wonderful plan right from the start when Marly Reed created the show and wrote a beautiful bible for it. Alex and I were just so lucky to be part of it and develop it,” said co-showrunner Heather Conkie, referring to her daughter and co-showrunner, Alexandra Clarke. “We really had a three, four, five-year plan? And we’re now working on the third year. We see what worked from the first two years and it’s a process.

So far across the two seasons of The Way Home (which has already been renewed for a third), the pond that allows the Landrys—Kat (Chyler Leigh), Alice (Sadie Laflamme-Snow), Jacob (Spencer MacPherson), and now Colton (Jefferson Brown) so far—to travel through time has only taken them to their pasts and presents. But could it ever take someone to their future? “I don’t think anything is ruled out ever with our show,” executive producer Heather Conkie tells TV Insider. “I think the minute you get in a writers’ room and have an amazing pitch, you can run with anything. But I do think at the end of the day, whatever rules we state about the pond, whether it’s through Elliot [Evan Williams] or through what Kat says or Alice, those are the rules and we will never stray from them because we want to keep the integrity of that...

Spoiler Alert: This post contains spoilers from “Bring Me to Life,” the Season 2 finale of Hallmark’s “The Way Home,” which streams on Peacock and Hallmark Movies Now.
“The Way Home” added another jaw-dropping twist in the Season 2 finale, “Bring Me to Life,” which aired Sunday night on Hallmark. Jacob (Spencer MacPherson) returned home to the present day, bringing Kat’s (Chyler Leigh) Season 2 quest to a close — but that wasn’t the most shocking moment of the finale. After Kat declared, “I wish Dad was here to see this,” to her little brother, the show moved to a flashback of a very young Colton in period clothing talking to an old woman about how it wasn’t his time to go in the pond. Another flashback revealed that it was actually adult Colton (Jefferson Brown) standing in the bushes watching himself with a young Jacob (Remy Smith) at the...

When mother-daughter showrunners Heather Conkie and Alexandra Clarke began working on “The Way Home” with creator Marly Reed, they didn’t intentionally set their sites on the world of “Alice in Wonderland.” Instead, it came completely natural.
“As we started looking at this show and the concept, it became so much clearer to us how oddly echoing it all was to the book, and we sort of thought well, if it’s there, let’s use it. It’s a story about a girl that literally falls down the rabbit hole into a whole other world and is trying to make sense of what she’s seeing and of her adventures there,” Alexandra tells Variety. With seamless comparisons, they began bringing physical similarities and themes from the 1865 novel into Season 1.
“Once we had gone down that rabbit hole ourselves, we were in a discount book store and the first books...

At first glance, The Way Home was an off-brand original series for Hallmark, thanks to time travel being utilized to tell a multi-generational story.
However, the series is synonymous with the heartwarming programming at the heart of Hallmark's schedule.
With The Way Home Season 2 in the works, TV Fanatic has rounded up everything there is to know about the hit series' upcoming season.
The Way Home Season 2 Renewal Status
Hallmark officially picked up The Way Home Season 2 in March 2023, revealing that the show had been a winner in the TV ratings in its Sunday night timeslot.
Even more impressive is that it beat out the likes of The Real Housewives of Potomac, 90 Day Fiance: The Other Way, and Home Town in key demographics.
The Way Home Season 1 was also the No. 1 most-watched program on Sundays among households, P2+, W18+, and P18+ on a L+Sd basis.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for The Way Home Season 1 finale “Not All Who Wander Are Lost.”] The first season of the time-traveling The Way Home answered some of our burning questions, namely, what happened to Jacob (Remy Smith) and Colton (Jefferson Brown). But in doing so, that left us with some other threads to unravel. For example, did Colton recognize his daughter as an adult when Kat (Chyler Leigh) was there when he died? What exactly does it mean for Jacob that he’s been time traveling? Executive producers Heather Conkie, Alexandra Clarke, and Marly Reed answer those burning questions (and more) about Season 1 and hint at what’s ahead. That moment of Colton seemingly recognizing Kat as he died — did he really, or was he just seeing his daughter, like someone thinks they see a loved one when they’re dying? Alexandra Clarke: We will never tell. Marly Reed: That one we’re taking...

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for The Way Home Season 1 finale “Not All Who Wander Are Lost.”] After that ending, let’s just say this: It’s a good thing The Way Home is coming back for a second season. The Season 1 finale saw Kat (Chyler Leigh) attend her dad’s funeral then, in the final moments in the present, realize her younger brother Jacob time-traveled via the pond! And just after her mom Del (Andie MacDowell) heard her say she knew what happened to him, the finale took us back to that 1814 scene that opened the series, and we learned it was Kat who’d been running through the woods in white. “I’ll be back, Jacob, I promise,” she said before jumping in the pond. Executive producers Heather Conkie, Alexandra Clarke, and Marly Reed break down the finale and tease what’s ahead. I’m assuming the plan was always to bookend the season with that 1814 scene.

The wholesome family saga “Heartland” almost galloped onto the small screen without Jessica Amlee back in Oct. 14, 2007. The Canadian actress and her teenage character, Mallory Wells, were not initially part of the pilot. “They added me in because they needed a younger face,” Amlee tells Et Canada. Flash forward to January 2023, when Heartland will be celebrating its 245th episode. Amlee, for one, can’t help but marvel at the show’s longevity.
“I remember in the first season, I think it was the third episode, we had discovered how many people were watching ‘Heartland’ at the time,” Amlee recalls. “We were shocked it got picked up for a second season. We were living off that high of, ‘Wow, people are actually watching.’ At the time, 500,000 people were watching. It was this huge deal. Then, I started looking up how many people were watching ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ and was like, ‘Ours isn’t that many people.

Hallmark announced Tuesday that Chyler Leigh has joined the cast of its new original primetime series.
The project is slated to begin production later this month for a 2023 premiere on Hallmark Channel.
Leigh plays Kat Landry, who moved away from her small, Canadian farm town of Port Haven many years ago following a family tragedy, and remains estranged from her mother Del (Andie MacDowell) to this day.
With her marriage coming to an end and having just been laid off from her job, Kat decides to return home after receiving an unexpected letter from Del urging her to come back.
Although her 15-year-old daughter Alice is none-too-thrilled, Kat and her daughter arrive at her family’s farm, though the reunion isn’t what Kat had envisioned.
