The final episode of The Sandman, "A Tale of Graceful Ends," deals with the fallout of Morpheus' death and the emergence of a new incarnation of Dream of the Endless, with Daniel Hall (Jacob Anderson) struggling to come to terms with his very existence and the rest of The Endless coming together to mourn their departed brother.
Tom Sturridge does appear in one final flashback scene towards the end of the finale, as we see Morpheus pay a visit to William Shakespeare upon the completion of his second commissioned play, The Tempest.
Dream invites the legendary playwright to The Dreaming to share a glass of wine, and we find out why the Prince of Stories made a deal with the then "naff actor" known as Will Shaxberg in the first place. Deep down, Morpheus knew that he could never abandon his responsibilities as Destruction had by leaving "his island," and...

Though the connections became more tenuous as the series went on, Neil Gaiman's The Sandman was very much set within the main DC Comics Universe, with appearances from the likes of Martian Manhunter, Mr. Miracle, and even Batman, who showed up at Morpheus' funeral in "The Wake."
A few vague references aside, the Netflix series mostly avoids any direct DC nods, but co-creator/showrunner Allan Heinberg has now revealed that a cameo from Batman was discussed.
“We talked about, ‘Does Robert Pattinson want to come to the funeral?’ Briefly, we did discuss that, but only briefly.”
Getting Pattinson on board would probably have been a mission and a half, but they could have shown the Dark Knight's unmistakable cowl from the back as the mourners are making their way inside the palace.

In an unusual move for a Netflix series, the final episode of The Sandman includes a post-credits scene, and it has now been officially released online.
Spoilers follow.
With his realm in danger of being obliterated by the Fates, aka the Furies, aka the Kindly Ones, Morpheus ultimately decides to give his life to save the Dreaming, with Death taking her brother's hand in a flash of light.
When Daniel Hall, the first child conceived in The Dreaming, grows to adulthood in order to fulfil his role as the new Dream Lord, we learn that the character is played by Jacob Anderson.
Are there more stories to tell featuring Daniel? Maybe, but the post-credits sequence is not so much a tease of what's to come as a meditation on Morpheus' arc over the course of the series.

The Sandman has come to an end, but there is still one more story to tell.
The second and final season of Netflix's adaptation of Neil Gaiman's acclaimed DC Comics series concludes with the death of Morpheus and the emergence of another aspect of Dream of the Endless to take his place. While we may yet see more of Daniel at some point (co-creator Allan Heinberg hasn't ruled out the possibility of a third season), the bonus episode that's set to hit the streamer on July 31 will be based on Death: The High Cost of Living.
This spin-off tale was hinted at in a deleted scene from the first season, when Death tells her little brother Morpheus that she used to take human form once every century in an attempt to remain grounded and in touch with humanity.

The final episodes of The Sandman are now streaming on Netflix, and the series concludes with a faithful adaptation of the longest (and many would say best) storyline from Neil Gaiman's seminal saga, "The Kindly Ones."
Spoilers ahead.
With his realm in danger of being destroyed by the Fates, aka the Furies, aka the Kindly Ones, Morpheus ultimately decides to give his life to save the Dreaming, with Death taking her brother's hand in a flash of light. The Sandman is dead, but another aspect of Dream must replace him: Daniel Hall, a child conceived in The Dreaming.
When the infant Daniel becomes an adult in order to fulfil his role as the new Dream Lord, we learn that the character is played by Jacob Anderson.
"Jacob’s being available was a miracle because I assumed he was busy with Interview with the Vampire," showrunner Allan Heinberg tells THR.

Netflix's The Sandman is back, and it's as good as ever. Despite being a largely condensed second season—wrapping up the entire saga in just 11 episodes—the team has managed to tell some of the comic's most popular stories.
There are many new characters introduced this time around, from Norse Gods to those of Faerie to the remaining entities that make up the Endless family. For the latter, we've been introduced to Destiny (Adrian Lester), Delirium (Esme Creed-Miles) and Destruction (Barry Sloane).
In the second half of Volume 1, Delirum seeks out Dream (Tom Sturridge) and convinces him to join her on a quest to find Destruction. Delirium is eccentric, surreal, and inherently chaotic. She's the youngest of the Endless siblings, and one of the most mysterious. Many years ago, she used to be Delight, but a change made her into Delirium. This change is one of the comic's biggest mysteries.

Monty Python star Eric Idle has bashed Donald Trump and his administration, saying he would be “proud to be thrown out” of the U.S..
In an interview with The Guardian, which featured questions from multiple celebrities – including Eddie Izzard, Tracey Ullman, Steve Coogan and David Mamet – Idle delivered a vicious takedown of the president.
Asked “what’s genuinely funny about Donald Trump?” Idle responded, “There’s nothing funny about Donald Trump. What will be funny is when he leaves office and we have a big party and dance in the streets.”
Idle went on to declare that the president had “no end of capacity for stupidity,” calling him a “treasonous monster who works for Putin.”

The results for the most-watched movie on Netflix in 2025 are in, and the result may surprise you. While there have been plenty of great original movies, underappreciated hidden gems, and mainstream megahits that have captured viewers' attention this year, the film that stands supreme for Netflix viewers is actually part of a $5.6 billion franchise.
There have been lots of great Netflix movies to stream this year, as January started strong with the stop-motion triumph that was Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl, and soon comedy fans will enjoy an exciting sequel as Adam Sandler returns for Happy Gilmore 2. However, the most-watched movie on Netflix wasn’t an original and was actually the fourth in its franchise.

Fans of The Penguin Lessons in the U.S. are in for a treat later this month as the critically acclaimed movie will find its way to Netflix. You may recall that the drama was first released as a gala presentation at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival before landing in the States earlier this year on March 28, courtesy of Sony Pictures Classics. The following month, it was released in the U.K. and Ireland by Lionsgate UK, where it was met with rave reviews.

The movie that tricked a generation of children into believing that learning is fun, A Night at the Museum, spawned two sequels and an animated spin-off — only one of which included a subplot about Ben Stiller getting the hots for deceased aviation legend Amelia Earhart.
Now the franchise is reportedly being rebooted. Yes, there’s going to be a brand new Night at the Museum movie featuring a fresh crop of characters who presumably won’t be played by people who are busy directing prestige streaming shows.
While one might assume that real-life museum employees would be happy about this news, at least one famous museum wasn’t exactly thrilled with the last movie.
Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb found Stiller’s character Larry packing up his magically living exhibits and taking them to London to visit The British Museum, all because of a magical glowing tablet or some such nonsense.

20th Century Studios is resurrecting another one of its dormant franchises. New life will be breathed into Night at the Museum, the beloved fantasy series starring Ben Stiller and Robin Williams.
According to Deadline, 21 Laps has begun development on a reimagining of Night at the Museum for 20th Century Studios, with Tripper Clancy tapped to write the script. The screenwriter is best known for writing the 2019 buddy action flick Stuber, starring Dave Bautista and Kumail Nanjiani, and the Kevin Hart-led Roku series Die Hart. Unfortunately, the upcoming Night at the Museum reimagining comes with a catch that will likely disappoint longtime fans of the original film trilogy. The new installment is not expected to bring back any cast members and will instead be a "new story set at the museum with all-new characters."

The exhibits are waking up once more — and this time, it's a whole new generation of chaos. Deadline is reporting that 21 Laps is developing a brand-new Night at the Museum reboot for 20th Century Studios, with Die Hartwriter Tripper Clancy set to pen the script. The new spin on the midnight madness in the exhibits won't continue the saga of Ben Stiller’s Larry Daley, but instead introduces all-new characters and a reimagined story set at the museum. Franchise mainstay Shawn Levy, who directed the original trilogy, returns to produce alongside Dan Levine, with Emily Morris overseeing for 21 Laps.
As for why we're returning to this story? Easy to explain. The Night at the Museum trilogy proved to be a major box office success, with all three films combining for approximately $1.35 billion worldwide, with the original 2006 film earning around $574 million globally, establishing the franchise as a hit. Its 2009 sequel,...

20th Century Studios wants to welcome audiences back to the enchanted Night at the Museum franchise with a reimagining from Die Hart and Stuber writer Tripper Clancy. 21 Laps tapped Clancy for the gig, keeping plot details under wraps. Shawn Levy and Dan Levine will produce via 21 Laps, with Emily Morris overseeing the project. While plot elements are scarce, Deadline says the Night at the Museum reimagining will feature a new story and all-new characters.
Shawn Levy directed 2006’s Night at the Museum, based on Milan Trenc’s 1993 children’s book. The original film stars Ben Stiller as Larry Daley, the new security guard at the Museum of Natural History. To Larry’s surprise, he discovers that an ancient curse causes the animals and exhibits on display to come alive and wreak havoc.

The first ten episodes (plus a bonus) of The Sandman did a wonderful job of adapting the first few stories of the original ’90s comic-book series. They brought the ultragothy Dream (Tom Sturridge) and a few of his ‘Endless’ siblings to vivid and convincing life, in a season which literally took us to Hell and back, but was rooted firmly in the ‘Waking World’ of Planet Earth. However, this second – and notably “final” – season has far trickier source narratives to negotiate. It pulls us further away from the reassurance of the everyday and deeper into the realms of gods, demons and anthropomorphic manifestations of human experience, as the rest of Dream’s family join the party.

The Sandman Season 2, Volume 2 arrives on Netflix on July 24, and the streamer has now released a teaser for what will be the final 6 episodes of the series.
Spoilers follow.
In the Vol. 1 finale, Morpheus spilled "Family Blood" when he finally granted his son Orpheus peace centuries after his body was torn to pieces by the Maenads. This act incurs the wrath of The Kindly Ones, who are now within their rights to exact vengeance again the Dream Lord and lay waste to the Dreaming in the process.
During a recent interview with Tudum, Tom Sturridge weighed-in on Morpheus' decision to end his son's life and the fact that he was fully aware of the ramifications.
“Dream knows what is going to happen, and he knows the price that will be paid. [He’s] ultimately doing something beautiful and giving his son the most important thing. But the consequences are so enormous that it is a great burden.

After spending decades in development hell, a live-action adaptation of the Neil Gaiman comic book series The Sandman actually made it into production and was released as a Netflix series in August of 2022. (Read our review Here.) Now, season 2, which also happens to be the final season, is making its way out into the world, separated into two “volumes,” plus a bonus episode. One of the most immersive and brilliantly written fantasy shows of recent times has to be Netflix’s The Sandman and while it is coming to an end with its second season because of some behind-the-scenes controversies, fans are still looking forward to the upcoming batch of episodes. Based on the DC comic book of the same name by Neil Gaiman, Sam Kieth, and Mike Dringenberg, the Netflix series was developed by Gaiman, David S. Goyer, and Allan Heinberg.
The Sandman 2 continues the story of Lord Morpheus, aka Dream, as his whole kingdom is threatened because of his past actions, forcing him to face and reevaluate his previous decisions and seek absolution for the wrong ones.

The Sandman season 2, Vol. 1 is now streaming on Netflix, and critics have been sharing their verdicts on the first six episodes of what will be our final visit to The Dreaming since the embargo lifted earlier today.
After initially generating a perfect 100% Rotten Tomatoes score when the first few reviews hit, Vol. 1 has now dropped to 75% based on 16 write-ups. That score is likely to fluctuate, but the consensus seems to be that this adaptation of the later storylines from Neil Gaiman's seminal saga doesn't quite match up to the first season.
Mileage is almost certain to vary depending on whether you're a fan of the source material, which some of the more negative reviews pretty much use as the basis of their criticism.

Spoiler Alert !!!The following contains spoilers for The Sandman Season 2, Volume I!
Despite tirelessly waiting for nearly three years for the 2nd season of The Sandman, fans’ excitement was dashed away by Neil Gaiman with the cliffhanger ending. However, that did not stop fans from binge-watching the fantasy thriller featuring Dream, his Endless Siblings, and his son, Orpheus.
Volume I of Season 2 was tumultuous, where Morpheus had to make some profoundly emotionally charged choices that left him in tears by the end. However, this has not made things easy for our protagonist because the ending has already sown the seeds for what’s to come, and it is going to be epic and on a grand scale.

Free ad-supported streamer The Network has acquired the timely documentary “War Game,” which will premiere July 4 as its next original. Deal comes as The Network pickes up the film from distributor Boat Rocker; the project will now be branded a Network original in association with Boat Rocker Studios and Anonymous Content.
Jesse Moss and Tony Gerber directed “War Game,” which follows “a bipartisan group of U.S. defense, intelligence, and elected policymakers spanning five presidential administrations who participate in an unscripted role-play exercise in which they confront a political coup backed by rogue members of the U.S. military, in the wake of a contested presidential election.”
Described as a look at what could have happened during the tragic Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol, “War Game” was organized by Vet Voice Foundation and takes place in a simulated Situation Room.

A lot has been said about how true comedy movies have become a dying breed in Hollywood these days, so it's always enjoyable to revisit a cult classic from back when the genre was more prevalent.
