Cortés Alexander

Cortés Alexander graduated from the Professional Children's School in NYC where he also studied piano. After high school, it was either Berklee College of Music, or CalArts. He chose CalArts after which, he got a pilot with Nicolas Cage & then his first Broadway show, the ill-fated "Marilyn- An American Fable". He was playing piano for a friend's audition, & when asked if he could sing, he said 'yes" & was cast 2 days later. Many commercials & music videos later, he was singing in a club in NY with his group, The Tonics, where he met legendary theatre director Harold Prince, who introduced them to Stephen Sondheim at a Christmas party. Steve asked if they would sing at a benefit in his honor & naturally they all said "yes". Their arrangement of "Good Thing Going" at Carnegie Hall, was televised on PBS as part of their Great Performances series & was Grammy nominated. Then he met Liza Minnelli, & Cortés went on 2 world tours with her, each lasting about 4 years. The latter culminating in the Tony Award winning "Liza's At The Palace". There's more... Cortés recently co-starred in the TUBI original Film UNBORN. He also has done quite a bit of commercial print modeling, has 17 tennis trophies, 3 dogs, & released a critically acclaimed CD of original music called SWELL (available on itunes etc...). He does live concerts in the LA area which continue to sell out, & is currently working on conquering his insomnia & eater fewer pancakes.
