Earlier this year, Trey Songz took R. Kelly to task for using Auto-Tune on his Demo Tape mixtape. Kells responded earlier this month on DJ Skee's radio show.
"If you're gonna step out on that limb, which is very thin, you should make a personal call," Kells told Skee. "Now if you're trying to sell an album and start a beef, then you make it public. ... But you have to be very careful with that. Because why would I tell Stevie Wonder, even though he doesn't have an album, 'You need to do this and that' ... or talk about Stevie Wonder. I would not do that. Because Stevie Wonder has fans too. ... Just...

JoJo confirmed that a joint deal between her label Blackground Records and Interscope has been finalized. The singer wrote on her Twitter, "The deal is done! Blackground/Interscope :) Longtime comin'..."
JoJo has been waiting for Blackground Records to reach a distribution deal for her new album "All I Want Is Everything" since two years ago. "I don't know what my other options are, I don't wanna keep my fans waiting, I don't wanna keep my family, my friends and myself waiting," she complained earlier this year when there was no deal yet.
JoJo even filed a legal document against Da Family Entertainment, demanding to be released from her contract with the company and seeking at least $500,000 as a compensation for putting her into a musical "limbo".
JoJo released her second album "The High Road" in 2006. Throughout her career since 2004 debut album "JoJo", she has worked with the likes of Sean Garrett,...

Rihanna at the Bmi awards on Thursday

New York — You know it's a going to be a good night when a big, thuggish-looking man with a scar going down half his face comes into the party singing Rihanna's chorus to "Run This Town."
Now imagine being at that same party and the DJ announces that Rihanna is actually in the building. Too crazy. Thursday night in New York City, if you weren't rehearsing for the MTV Video Music Awards at Radio City Music Hall, or part of Raekwon's CD-release show at S.O.B.'s, then you had to be at the M2 Ultra Lounge.

New York — George Clinton was the night's honoree, and Lil Wayne and Kanye West were among the big winners, but Bootsy Collins undoubtedly stole the show at the 2009 Bmi Urban Music Awards on Thursday night.
The famous bass player took part in the tribute to Clinton, which also included Outkast's Big Boi and Gnarls Barkley's Cee-Lo, among others. Collins, still the showman in his late 50s, led a party chant dedicated to his former Parliament-Funkadelic bandmate over "Atomic Dog." Decked out in his trademark rhinestone-studded attire, Collins then ventured out into the crowd and, despite wearing platform shoes thicker than most phone books, began climbing over seats.

DAY26's single "So Good" has got an accompanying music video. Filmed in black-and-white scenes, the video shows the five members of the boyband as they make out with their girlfriends and caress the ladies' bodies.
Coming off the group's second studio album "Forever in a Day", "So Good" is worked on by a bunch of producers, including acclaimed musicmaker Bryan-Michael Cox. This is the fifth single being released off the effort after "Imma Put It On Her", "Stadium Music", "Girlfriend" and "Truth Is a Lie".
"So Good" music video aside, DAY26 and their founder P. Diddy were recently sued by singer Kirby Shields over copyright infringement. Kirby claimed, "[My song] 'I'm Just Getting Started' is identical to a song similarly titled and recorded by DAY26, called 'Just Getting Started'." Up to date, both DAY26 and Diddy haven't commented on the lawsuit issue.

Canadian rapper Drake's "Best I Ever Had" single is not only a smash for him, but it's becoming one of the best remixed tracks of the summer. The latest entry comes from self-professed "King of Remixes" Trey Songz, who dropped his track via his Twitter account.
"In the studio tryna paint a musical Picasso," he wrote of the track.
It's not the first time Drake and Trey Songz have collaborated on a song — they previously released "Successful" and "Replacement Girl" together. In the remix of "Best I Ever Had," he tweaks the lyrics slightly, so instead of "Baby you my everything/ You're all I ever wanted," it's now "She said I'm her everything/ I'm all she ever wanted." The track retains the same charm and smoothness as the original with an extra dash of theatricality and swagger care of Songz.

Jermaine Dupri assembles Usher, Nelly and others for Ocean's 7 mixtape and possible film, in Mixtape Daily.

The fellas know we're repping for them, and the ladies love us like a Tory Burch sample sale — Mixtape Daily is still here, still strong. Today is bugged out, because the focus is on a few people who aren't exactly synonymous with the mixtape game. First, R. Kelly's been adding his legendary vocal ability to unofficial remixes of records such as Drake's "Best I Ever Had" and Jeremih's "Birthday Sex." Well, he has a whole tape of those kinds of records and some original joints as well.
Then, the homie Jd obviously has been putting out his own mixtapes for years, but he's coming at a new angle this time. Jermaine Dupri wrangled his guys Tyrone Davis (Jd's personal assistant), Usher,...
