Alessio Cremonini was born in Rome on 1973. He is an Italian film and television director. He started working as an assistant director in the TV series Amico Mio by Paolo Poeti and then in the cinema as an assistant to Ettore Scola in the film La Cena and with Ricky Tognazzi. In 1997 he wrote and directed a four-hand short film with Camilla Costanzo in 35 mm titled Marta inserted in an episodic film The Italian shorts presented at the Venice Film Festival. Among the directors who direct the episodes are Gillo Pontecorvo, Ettore Scola, Mario Monicelli, Ricky Tognazzi. In 2000 he wrote the film Voices based on the homonymous novel by Dacia Maraini directed by Franco Giraldi. The screenplay wins the Federico Fellini award for best screenplay. In the same year he also wrote the episodes for the soap opera Vivere produced by Endemol and broadcast by Canale 5. In 2003 he wrote and directed the TV movie A family by chance for Rai 1 with Lando Buzzanca and Giovanna Ralli. In 2004 with Camilla Costanzo and Saverio Costanzo he wrote the screenplay for Private, directed by Saverio Costanzo, produced by Off Side production. Between 2004 and 2006 he was a lecturer at the MedFilm Festival. In 2006 he wrote and directed the tv movie La notte breve broadcast by Rai 2 with Giuliana De Sio. He continued his teaching career in 2009 and in 2011 he was a teacher of translators and adapters at the University of Bologna. Between 2010 and 2012 he is a teacher of creative writing at the School of Multimedia. In 2013 he writes, directs and co-produces together with Francesco Melzi d'Eril Border, a film shot in Arabic on the Syrian war. Will be presented at the Toronto, Rome, Tokyo, Cleveland, Belfast, etc. In 2016, with Lisa Nur Sultan he wrote the screenplay for On my skin, which in 2017 will direct the film, taken from the subject Via Crucis himself autonomously elaborated, entitled On my skin, based on documents and facts actually happened concerning the story of Stefano Cucchi and produced by Cinemaundici and Lucky Red. The film premiered on August 29, 2018 in the Horizons section of the 75th Venice Film Festival, where it was the opening film.
