Taking its title from the 61 names found in a notebook when he was arrested, 61: Scorecard Killer is based rather loosely on the crimes of Randy Kraft. Kraft was convicted of the rape and murder of sixteen young men and is suspected of fifty-one other killings. Kraft was arrested in 1983 after police pulled him over for a suspected DUI and found a dead body in his car’s passenger seat.

The biggest difference between fact and fiction is that directors Poison Rouge and Domiziano Cristopharo have updated the film to the present day. We see this right away in the prelude, as Randy, uses his smartphone to print out photos of murder victims to post on his wall and dance naked in front of.

And this is as good a time as any to mention...

Available now are the restored edition of the thriller films Marilyn Alive and Behind Bars and Dead Girls don’t Tango by John Carr come in a Limited Mediabook edition (DVD + Booklet + Slipcover). Both films are available on TetroVideo and Goredrome official websites along with the new edition of TetroManiac: eROTik, the extreme horror film directed by Domiziano Cristopharo in 2019.

Marilyn Alive And Behind Bars

According to John Carr himself, at first this movie was not finished. Some portions of the filmed materials were incorporated in the Night Train to Terror anthology film. After that, the producers made a “complete” version of his movie, using almost all the materials filmed. This version was released on VHS only as Scream Your Head Off.

This is for the fans of extreme horror. Two new labels, DarkStar Films and BlackMafia Films, were announced this week. The two distribution companies already have a lineup of titles available on Goredrome.    There is not much else to say, other than we see that our friend Domiziano Cristopharo has a number of title from his filmography in the mix. Tetrovideo have announced the release of the German disturbing extreme films Melancholie der Engel (2009) and Carcinoma (2014) directed by controversial filmmaker Marian Dora. Both of which are coming in a limited/numbered Dvdpack edition (Slipcase + DVD + Card) and in a ultralimited/numered Mediabook Gold edition (Slipcase + DVD + 20 pag booklet) with French, Italian and English subtitles.

You may have seen that recently here on Nerdly we’ve been reviewing a few more “underground” horror titles thanks to distributors Tetrovideo, films such as Vore Gore, Nightmare Symphony and Thanatomorphose. Now whilst we haven’t covered many underground/extreme horror on the site in the past – though we have reviewed films like Lung, American Guinea Pig: Bucket of Guts and Gore, Mecanix and Your Flesh Your Curse – that doesn’t mean we don’t watch a Lot of them. According to Wikipedia. Vorarephilia (often shortened to vore) is a paraphilia characterized by the erotic desire to be consumed by, or sometimes to personally consume, another person or creature, or an erotic attraction to the process of eating in general practice. Vore Gore is an anthology of nine extreme horror shorts revolving around this desire.

Vore Gore opens up with “Mouth” by Mikel Balerdi, which features some cringe inducing footage of diseased mouths, teeth removal and other bloody trauma. It’s shocking if entirely plotless.

This July, TetroVideo will be releasing the splatter erotic Japanese film Mai-chan’s Daily Life: The Movie (2014) by Sado Satō, the anthology extreme film Vore Gore (2021) and the punk horror film Rot, directed by Marcus Koch in 1999, which is the first title of Tetro Underground, a line dedicated to all the underground films produced until 1999, with tons of titles never officially released before. The film comes on DVD + Amaray + vintage looking slipcase.

Made famous by directors such as Dario Argento, Mario Bava, and Lucio Fulci, Giallo (an Italian term) movies are murder mystery/horror thriller affairs that have always had a cult following. Unfortunately, there are very few modern Giallo movies made so I was pleased to see Nightmare Symphony get a release… and be able to review it!

Nightmare Symphony, a tribute to Lucio Fulci’s Nightmare Concert/A Cat in the Brain, in which Fulci himself played a tortured horror filmmaker haunted by his own bloody horror film visions; follows a director attempting to finish making his film while someone or something is killing off the people trying to finance and help him make it.

Perhaps what Nightmare Symphony does best is...

TetroVideo have announced the release of giallo horror Nightmare Symphony, the psychological horror The Bad Man and the shocking experimental dramatic art film Debris Documentar. Nightmare Symphony is coming to Blu-ray while The Bad Man and Debris Documentar are coming in a limited Digipack edition including a DVD and a Collector’s card: only 150 copies for The Bad Man and 300 copies for Marian Dora’s film are planned.

First Details on Utero: “Writer/Director Bryan Coyne’s (Harvard Park and Incarnate) new film Utero started production this week in Los Angeles.

Independently financed by Coinopflix, the movie stars Jessica Cameron who is also producing along with her Truth or Dare partner, Jonathan Higgins. Former Platinum Studios Exec (Cowboys and Aliens, Dylan Dog: Dead Of Night) Richard Marincic also serves as a producer on the film.

Sometimes a movie just needs to have a slick title to grab some attention, and The House of Flesh Mannequins certainly has a nice ring to it. The film delves into the world of "snuff" films and touts surrealism aspects to the filming process and releases onto DVD in late February of 2012. The Italian exploitation thriller, The House of Flesh Mannequins, will receive a worldwide DVD release February 21, 2012. This psychological drama by controversial director/writer Domiziano Cristopharo will be sure to be deeply disturbing because of the subject matter being explored.

This film features Sebastian Rhys (Domiziano Arcangeli, “Showtime’s Zalman King’s Chromium Blue”), a loner, whose life is about to change. As an artist and photographer, he habitually explores the seedy side of life and human depravity. When a fellow apartment tenant, Sarah Roeg (Irena A. Hoffman, Moonlight Sonata) takes an interest in his work, where this film goes is a look into a very torturous, surrealistic, and erotic world that also includes snuff films. Up and comer actors Dave Vescio (Lost Soul) and Jerred Berg also star.

I’m not sure what to make of the trailer for Italian director Domiziano Cristopharo third full length feature Bloody Sin.

The trailer for the film which stars Francesco Venditti, Roberta Gemma and Nancy de Lucia among others, starts off in the middle ages, complete with dark chambers and a big dollop of torture and then partway through changes gears completely and turns into a 70s disco inspired picture which doesn’t even look like a horror film (though there isn’t much to suggest that it’s not as the second part of the trailer is mostly title cards).

The film’s official synopsis gives a sort of explanation on the stylistic and tonal change though I’d love to see a trailer that gives us a little more of the 70s portion:

Italian director Domiziano Cristopharo from House of Flesh Mannequins and The Museum of Wonders has completed shooting on Bloody Sins and the film was released in Italy January 1st, 2010. There is no word on when the film will be shown in North America, however, a new trailer for the feature can be seen inside that pays bloody respect to the Spanish Inquisition and the "Nazis in World War II" (Horror).
