- He directed Eugène Ionesco's play 'La Leçon' at 'Théâtre de la Huchette' Paris where it is still playing since 1951. He also played with his wife Thérèse Quentin in 'La Cantatrice chauve' by the same author at the same theater. He won in 2000 the Molière prize for best supporting actor in the play 'Mon père avait raison' by Sacha Guitry. He and his wife are the parents of Marie Cuvelier.
