Hellboy star Ron Perlman has had a long and varied career, but there’s one franchise he’s never cracked but dearly wants to: Star Wars.
ComicBook.com recently interviewed Perlman and asked him whether he’d be interested in a role in a future project set in that galaxy far, far away, to which he gave an unreservedly positive response, saying:
“Write your Congressman, because I’d love to be seen in one of those. Whatever you got to do. Say, ‘Hey George [Lucas], there’s this newcomer, this kid named Perlman, you should really check him out.'”
First off, it’s no surprise Perlman hasn’t popped up in Tatooine if he thinks cozying up to George Lucas is the best way to get into Star Wars. While the approval of Lucas might work in your favor, it’s really Lucasfilm’s Kathleen Kennedy and her Disney overlords...

John Cygan, who played Lt. Paulie Pentangeli on the 1990s ABC series The Commish and then provided his voice for dozens of films and video games, has died. He was 63.
Cygan died Saturday at his home in Woodland Hills after a long battle with cancer, Jonn Wasser of the Atlas Talent Agency told The Hollywood Reporter.
Cygan also starred opposite Bob Newhart — both played comic book artists at a Chicago-based company — on the short-lived sitcom Bob, which ran from 1992-93 on CBS.

Bob Newhart had a number of different shows in his career as one of television’s most popular comedians, and perhaps the oddest concept of them all was the one that cast him as a comic book writer doing his best to compete in a cutthroat publishing industry amidst a collection of executives, social outcasts, and his family. The show, simply titled Bob, scores a high number of laughs per episode by capitalizing on the abilities of its great cast which includes Bob, Cynthia Stevenson (Dead Like Me), Andrew Bilgore, and John Cygan. The show still relies on basic sitcom fare with very simple plots, but the comedy takes clever approaches to most of its jokes that reveal many current sitcoms, by comparison, as the overly broad trainwrecks that they are.

Years before we knew Michael Chiklis as tough-as-nails Vic Mackey on The Shield, he starred in a very different cop series for ABC.
The Commish revolves around a no-nonsense police commissioner named Tony Scali (Chiklis). A former Brooklyn cop, he's respected by his officers and the small-town community of Eastbridge for his unorthodox methods. Even more important than his job though is his family at home. The series also features Theresa Saldana, Kaj-Erik Eriksen, John Cygan, Melinda McGraw, Geoffrey Nauffts, Nicholas Lea, Gina Belafonte, and David Paymer.
The ABC drama ran for five seasons and 94 episodes, from 1991 until 1996. Interestingly, the show spent its run between Thursday and Saturday nights -- the most-watched and least-watched nights of television today.
The Commish: The Complete First Season has just been released on DVD and the set includes all 21 episodes as...
