    • Trivia
Created a lot of controversy in 1992 with the song "Rodney K"; in the song, Rodney King is killed, after the song ends. Willie D stated that the song was directed at African Americans that would 'sell-out' and assimiliate with the dominant majority. Willie D recorded and released another controversial rap song "Coon" in March 2016 where he has stated in interviews that a 'Coon' is usually an African American who sell out their own race for acceptance with another race (he has defined a 'Coon' as (1) if ones criticism of a community outweighs your contribution to a community, (2) reinforcement of negative stereotypes, especially as a means to regurgitate White Supremacy rhetoric, (3) blaming one's oppression in their own community and giving the oppressor a pass, and (4) a person of color who is selling out for financial gain and gaining acceptance outside their race and/or ethnicity) - in the song he attacked former NBA basketball player Charles Barkley where he sided with the grand jury decision not to indict Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson for the shooting of Michael Brown, Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke (who is African American and made a statement on CNN where he stated that 'there is no police brutality in America which was ended in the 1960s' and called President Barack Obama a nightmare in the White House), and actress Stacey Dash (who has made rancid comments against the BET (Black Entertainment Television) network claiming that BET has kept racism and segregation alive - she went on FOX News back in February 2016 in the wake of the Oscars boycott where several prominent African Americans consider her a race traitor). Willie D released a sequel 'Coon 2' which he named Michael Jordan, presidential candidate Ben Carson, Steve Harvey, and U.S. Senator Ted Cruz (who is Cuban American) - both music videos for 'Coon' and 'Coon 2' were later blocked by social media giant Facebook where Willie D did have his Facebook account suspended where both rap songs incited violence and/or promoted hate speech (the suspension of Facebook accounts of African Americans for posting about racial injustice and/or African American issues e.g. the Black Lives Matter movement, systemic racism is a double standard where one post for foul language stays up but Black-centric issues are subjected to censorship).
