Radical-Socialist Premier of France from 31 January - 26 October 1933,
30 January - 9 February 1934, and 10 April 1938 - 20 March 1940. He was
arrested by the Vichy Government and imprisoned from 1940-1945. Became
a member of the French National Assembly. Signed the Munich Pact with
Neville Chamberlain,
Benito Mussolini and
Adolf Hitler, yielding to Hitler's demand for German
occupation of the Sudetenland.
