- Roy de Silva was born on August 30, 1937 in Yatawatta, British Ceylon. He was an actor and writer, known for Sihina Lowak Soya, Cheerio Darling (1996) and It's a Matter of Time (1991). He was married to Sumana Amarasinghe. He died on June 30, 2018 in Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte, Basnahira palata, Sri Lanka.

- On 1 September 2018, de Silva's autobiography was launched at Tharangani Hall. The book is titled Ada Siyawasaka Sadadara Roy.
