The series has generally received positive reviews, being one of the genre-defining projects of the zombie apocalypse genre.

With Justice League finally in cinemas, DC fans are now wondering what’s up next for the franchise. One of the most intriguing projects in the works is Flashpoint, the alt-universe movie starring Ezra Miller, and though we know very little about it at the moment, a new rumour has laid out an alleged update for us, claiming that the knowledge comes from “an incredibly reliable source” at Warner Bros.
Given that this hails from Reddit, we’d advise taking it with a pinch of salt – as always – but seeing as the social media site has yielded accurate intel in the past, we wouldn’t totally write this off just yet. After all, it does sound plausible, as you’ll see below.
“Jeffery Dean Morgan will co-star with Ezra Miller. Reverse Flash will be the main villain. The studio is still deciding if they want to use the film to...

The Walking Dead returns, and it’s decidedly more to-the-point in a momentum shifting opening episode.
Season 7 ended on the dissatisfying cliffhanger of Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and the gang’s failure to usurp Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), testing many a fan’s patience in the process. The season was compiled of plenty of slow-burning episodes that teased a payoff that fizzled out to not much more than a minor twist and a quick shot of a tiger mauling a dude.
So it is fair to say, after a series of mediocre seasons, that it is about time one of the biggest shows on television got its act together.
The opening episode to the show’s eighth season certainly demonstrates the show-runner’s intent to get to the point a bit quicker. We open the episode with the Hilltop, Alexandria and Kingdom crews coming together in preparation for all out war.

The Walking Dead is one of the most extreme and hardcore series on TV. The creative team is always pushing the boundaries on what they can get away with and we've seen some brutal stuff over the years.
Well, AMC is going to allow it to take things even further. After years of hearing Rick say "screw you" and Negan using alternate words in place of "Fuck", It's been confirmed that will no longer be the case and the series is now going to let the F-bomb fly.
During The Walking Dead press conference at New York Comic Con 2017 this past weekend, the cast and producers confirmed that this will be the case. Negan actor Jeffery Dean Morgan told the press:
"Fuck yes! Fuckin’ fuck! It’s a year fuckin’ late! That’s was all I got on that. I’m real excited. I think we should’ve had that rule.

When it comes to Hollywood stars and their presence online, few are as vocal, candid and, frankly, entertaining as Dwayne Johnson.
For film fans, and indeed studio executives, he’s Christmas – a driven, hard-working A-lister that often keeps his legions of followers in the loop whilst filming his latest Hollywood blockbuster. It’s no wonder Johnson earned the title ‘franchise viagra’ soon after his induction into Universal’s The Fast and the Furious series.
His latest gig? Rampage, a big-budget rendition of the classic Midway video game about three animals – one wolf, one lizard, and one albino gorilla – that become grossly mutated abominations when a science experiment goes awry. As is so often the case, a shady conglomerate (The Griffin Technologies Group) is to blame for the atrocity, and it’s up to primatologist Davis Okoye (Johnson) to clean up the mess alongside his team of associates – a team that...

Proving that cool guys don’t look at explosions, or twisted wrecks of metal that appear to be the aftermath of a colossal monster attack, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has taken to social media to share the latest photo from the set of New Line’s Rampage movie.
Coming to us by way of Screen Rant, the pic arrived bearing the caption: “We have a problem. The beasts survived.” Note that that’s ‘beasts’ plural, and we know from previous story-related reveals that Brad Peyton’s monster movie will feature three primary creatures: a wolf, an alligator, and an albino gorilla called George that have all been mutated beyond recognition by the nefarious suits at the Griffin Technologies Group.
Leave it to primatologist Davis Okoye (Johnson), then, to save the world from plunging into chaos. Over the years, he’s developed a close bond with George in particular – industry veteran...

The quest to make a good video game movie continues, as the newest film based on an old arcade game continues production. A couple new images have surfaced via Dwayne "the Rock" Johnson's Instagram showing the main characters looking classy af.
The first image is of Johnson, Naomi Harris, and Jeffery Dean Morgan. The three the film will be following as they hunt down the giant monsters responsible for much destruction. My favorite part of this whole thing is Johnson's definition of the three characters. If there’s one complaint that’s often leveled at Hollywood creature features, it’s that the subgenre tends to pay so much attention to jaw-dropping visual effects that the human characters – shallow, thinly-drawn human characters at that – are subsequently swept aside in the name of spectacle.
From Godzilla to Pacific Rim, you don’t have to look too far to locate an example of a western monster movie told through the lens of a forgettable lead, and though Paramount’s Baywatch flop stands as living proof that Dwayne Johnson is not, in fact, critically bulletproof, many are already looking to New Line’s Rampage adaptation in the hope of an entertaining, yet compelling creature feature.

Did you forget Negan was in charge?
Probably not, but the leader of the Saviors made sure Rick and his crew didn’t forget by making a personal visit to Alexandria on The Walking Dead Season 7 Episode 4.
And this was a tense 90-minute episode that flew by in gripping fashion.
It’s usually pretty fun to get a little extra time added to an episode, meaning more of the series’ particular world and more time with the characters.
But The Walking Dead has used the 90-minute episode before, and its last two times (The Walking Dead Season 6 Episode 4 and The Walking Dead Season 6 Episode 16) didn’t need the extra minutes. They probably would have worked just fine with the regular run time.
I can’t say that this particular episode required more time either, but it never really dragged, leaving the audience in suspense as to what was going to...

Lionsgate Premiere has released a new trailer for Solace, a serial killer thriller that stars Colin Farrell as a murderer with a particular set of skills. The trouble for him is that Anthony Hopkins plays a man with a similar set of skills, and Hopkins' character is recruited by the police to help stop Farrell's killer. Frankly, this looks like one of the wave of cheesy cat and mouse movies that came out in the wake of David Fincher's Seven (remember Mindhunters?), but Farrell and Hopkins are interesting enough actors that they might be able to salvage this into something worth watching.
Jeffery Dean Morgan and Abbie Cornish round out the core cast, and Solace arrives in theaters and On Demand on December 16, 2016.
When FBI Special Agent Joe Merriwether (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) is unable to solve a series of homicides, he decides to enlist the help of his former colleague Dr.

The season seven premiere of The Walking Dead was an emotional one, since fans finally discovered who Negan kills after months and months of waiting. Although the whole episode was pretty brutal, there was one silver lining: the cast couldn't get enough of each other at the red carpet premiere in Hollywood on Sunday. Before watching the new episode together, Norman Reedus and Andrew Lincoln - who play Daryl and Rick - continued their adorable bromance while holding hands and smiling for photographers. Jeffery Dean Morgan (aka new villain Negan) also got in on the love, wrapping costar Danai Gurira up in a big hug. As always, this is one cast that never fails to show how much they genuinely adore each other, bloody skull crushing or no bloody skull crushing. Jeffery Dean Morgan also confirmed a previous report that Negan will kill multiple people in the Season 7 premiere of The Walking Dead. Fans of the series were all left wondering who Negan brutally killed in the Season 6 finale using his baseball bat, Lucille. Well there will at least be one other person who meets their demise. After his only English language film, 2011's The Resident starring Hilary Swank and Jeffery Dean Morgan, failed to launch, Jokinen went back to Europe where he made a number of highly regarded films including The Midwife and Purge (Finland's official Oscar selection in 2012). His latest is Flowers of Evil, a simmering and angry street film inspired by the 2012 Stockholm riots. The story follows two brothers who each take very different paths to deal with the challenges of living in a housing estate in Helsinki. Based on the...

Nipping at the heels of the nail-biting teaser trailer from earlier today, AMC executed its one-two punch during Sdcc’s ongoing The Walking Dead panel, not only confirming that season 7 will premiere on October 23, but also rolling out the first full-length trailer that finds our heroes at the mercy of Jeffery Dean Morgan’s sneering baddie, Negan.
Running through each character one emotionally touching vignette at a time, the full trailer is a sombre reminder of the road so far, and effectively ups the ante ahead of the long-awaited reveal on October 23.
In related news, The Hollywood Reporter confirmed earlier today that Khary Payton (Teen Titans, General Hospital) has boarded AMC’s flagship as a series regular. The exact identity of that character is considered a fairly big spoiler, so we’ve included it after the jump.

It was the cliffhanger to end all cliffhangers. Upon lining up our ragtag crew, Jeffery Dean Morgan’s sneering baddie Negan prepared to strike a killing blow to either Rick or one of his hapless survivors. Then, the screen cut to black, and viewers of The Walking Dead were left pouring over the sixth season in the hope of answers.
Thankfully, there is light at the end of the tunnel; season 7 will shuffle onto AMC in early October and make no mistake, the show’s director Greg Nicotero teased that the new batch of episodes won’t waste any time in dolling out the answers.

"Designed to inspire, and it works!" These were the first words out of my friend Ian's mouth as we exited "The Idol," Hany Abu-Assad's newest film. Three days later I was still feeling its effect and recommending it to people here at the Toronto Film Festival whenever we discussed the films we had been seeing.
This Palestine/ UK/ Qatar/ Netherlands production was inspired by the true story of Mohammed Assaf, a Palestinian who grew up in Gaza and whose voice became the voice of the nation when he won the Arab Idol contest in 2013.
International sales by Seville (eOne’s arthouse branch) were made before Tiff to some 20 territories including Benelux (September Films is the former Wild Bunch Benelux), France (TF1), Germany (Koch), Japan (New Select), Hong Kong (Edko), Hungary (Mtva), Australia (Umbrella), Latin America (California Filmes), Portugal (Outsider Films), South Africa (Times Media) Switzerland (Praesens), China (Beijing Xiangjiang YiHua Films), India (PVR), Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore (Red Pictures), Taiwan (Spring International), Former Yugoslavia (Discovery Films), Romania (Independenta), South Korea (Kaon Contents & Media) and Airlines (Captive). eOne will directly release the film in Spain. Mbc will distribute throughout the Middle East, including in Palestine and North Africa. Adopt Films just picked up U.S. rights.
This is a feel-good movie which gives a human voice to the Palestinian dilemma without being political or religious. It’s pure heart.
“The Idol” was coproduced by Image Nation of Abu Dhabi, Enjaaz -- a Dubai Film Market initiative -- Doha Film institute with support from the Netherlands Film Fund. Mbc also coproduced and is handling the film’s release in the Middle East and North Africa. September was the Dutch coproducer and is handling it in Benelux.
Speaking in Toronto with Hany Abu-Assad, he agreed, this film was designed carefully. And at its world premiere here in Toronto, he was so nervous. When the laughter from the audience happened at exactly the right moment, he knew the film worked the way he had envisaged. “They laughed and cried at the same time,” he said. He did not know even though the editing if the emotion will carry it. “You don’t know until you show it. When I knew that people laughed with the kids then I knew I had succeeded. The little laugh when the kids were chased told me it worked.”
“From the small laugh to another point here, and another here, a domino effect starts.”
The original script was written by Sameh Zoabi whose earlier film, "Man Without a Cell Phone" won the Montpellier Mediterranean Film Festival Award for Sameh as Best Director. Hany gave the finished script to his (and my own) friend, colleague and script consultant, Annemarie Jacir, whose own film, "When I Saw You" premiered in Toronto in 2012 and won many awards including the Audience Prize at L.A. Film Festival in 2013 and at Amiens and the Netpac Award at the Berlin Film Festival in 2013. “She gave me some notes and worked on some of the dialogue."
I remarked how much I liked the joke about the distance between Gaza and Egypt being the same as the distance between Cuba and Florida and told him about a parallel joke made in the Cuban film “Barrio Cuba” when the Havana people call those coming from the east (Santiago de Cuba) “Palestinians”.
Aside from having a top-notch script, the entire film design was also successful because he worked with the same Dp Ehab Assal, Editor Eyas Salmon who was also editor of Tiff’s “Dégradé”, Production Designer and Art Director Nael Kanj and the Location Manager who all worked on his last film, the Academy Award nominated “Omar”. They have grown with him are now top quality artists and technicians who can work on both local and international productions.
“During ‘Omar’ we talked a lot about how the film would work, the concept, the core, the score, but on this film we spoke less. We knew each other better and it was much easier to shoot knowing each other’s strengths and weaknesses. And it was joyful and almost telepathic. We hoped this approach behind the camera would also inform the on-screen experience,” said Hany who also insisted on shooting on location in both Beirut and Cairo for the exterior scenes set in those cities so that the film would look and feel real.
The key to this film has always been authenticity both in front of and behind the camera. That is why “The Idol” is one of the first, if not the first, international production to shoot on location in Gaza, despite the logistical difficulties to get a film crew in and out safely. Set in the devastated landscapes of a Gaza still reeling from the month-long bombardment in 2014, Abu-Assad and his crew were still able to find great moments of beauty and surprise. The Gaza Parkour Team, for example, supply their amazing acrobatic display in the most surprising way in one moment, proving that art can thrive in even the most challenging of situations.
For more on "The Idol" read the pre Toronto reportage.
That desire for authenticity is also why Hany insisted on finding and employing real kids from Gaza to act in the film. The crew did a Gaza-wide search, holding casting sessions and rehearsals in schools across the area. Ultimately, the production was blessed to find four amazing Gazan children to star in the film, all first time actors, and all incredible natural performers.
The first half of the film takes place in a war-torn Gaza city which for
Mohammed Assaf, his sister Nour and their best friends Ahmad and Omar is a playground where they freely ride their bikes, play music, football and dare to dream big. Their band might play on second hand, beaten up instruments but their ambitions are sky-high. Their ambition is to play at the world famous Cairo Opera Hall.
The world around Mohammed shatters. Through it all, however, he retains the hope that his voice will somehow deliver him from the pain that surrounds him and bring joy to others. He sings at weddings, he drives a taxi to pay for his university studies. Even as the siege around Gaza intensifies, the prison around them ever more forbidding, Mohammed knows he has a rare gift, the ability to make people smile and forget their anxieties about day to day living.
On TV one evening he watches as the auditions for Arab Idol, the most popular show in the Arab world, take place in Cairo. The borders are closed. There is no way out. Somehow, he finds a way and makes it in front of the judges in Egypt. From there, destiny awaits, a chance to change his life and give a voiceless people the greatest feeling of all: the freedom to love, live and feel free.
However success in the weekly competitions bring on anxieties of a new kind, to be the one responsible for being the voice of his people, Palestine takes on more importance than his personal reasons for surviving and succeeding.
This film plays well to children and adults equally. The boy becomes a man, played by Tawfeek Barhom who played in last year's "Dancing Arabs" and switches gears to his escape to Egypt and his competing in the Arab Idol talent contest. At the very end, Tawfeek’s character becomes the real star, Mohammed Assaf. His voice was always used, even when Tawfeek was supposedly singing.
“I always ask myself why I want to make a movie and spend almost two years of my life working very hard to complete that movie. In the case of ‘The Idol’, the answer was clear and simple. The story of this young man, Muhammad Assaf, is such an incredible story that even somebody like me who, just three weeks earlier had won the Jury Prize of Certain Regard at the Cannes Film Festival, was more excited for Assaf to win Arab Idol than for myself. I was caught on camera between thousands of people gathered in the square in Nazareth to hear the final results for Arab Idol; I was jumping in excitement like a little kid, and I have not had this kind of excitement for a very long time. When Ali Jaafar offered for me to direct Muhammad Assaf’s story, my arms were covered in goosebumps. I knew immediately that I would do everything to make this story a movie.”
“I see ‘The Idol’ as the story of fighting and the will to survive under extreme circumstances. It’s a story of hope and success, where a brother and a sister were able to make from their disadvantages an advantage, and from the impossible possible, who come from nowhere to overcome all odds, beating poverty, oppression, and occupation. They have the ability to convert ugliness to beauty, which, in the end, is the power behind all art and the fuel to nurture hope.”
“The film was designed as a movie with no cultural barriers. You could be Chinese, American or Palestinian and you can appreciate the film. The very old and the very young can all understand the journey. It crosses religious lines. I meant to take a very specific story into a broader context.”
“The story of Mohammed Assaf is a once in a lifetime event, an opportunity to put a human face on a people who have all too often been marginalized and misrepresented. “
“At a time of unprecedented upheaval in the Arab world, with revolutions, civil wars, strife and extremism, Mohammed’s journey from humble wedding singer in Gaza, to the region’s hottest young star played out before our eyes weekly. Every Friday and Saturday night, for a few minutes, viewers could release themselves from the daily struggles and remember how to smile again.”
“Mohammed Assaf represents the spirit and symbol of what might be; of dreams coming true; of the impossible becoming, for a precious moment at least, entirely possible.”
“The children in the first audience loved it.”
“The girl is now with her family as refugees. They escaped and are seeking asylum in Europe. The three boys were in Toronto and one wanted to stay.
I’m happy I gave four Gazan kids the chance to see beyond the ghetto. They have special talent and their exposure now allows the world to come to them. Audiences love these children so much that they have offered to pay for their education. There was even an offer to adopt one. With paid-for education their futures are now more hopeful,” Hany said.
“The girl is so talented. She never acted before but she understood and loved the logic of shooting, of decoupage. ‘Is this a wide shot?’ she would ask. She spent three days asking about the lenses. On the second day an actor off camera forgot his lines. She continued to talk as if he were talking, as if he were acting. She came out of war. Two of her uncles were killed in the war. When you loose your fear of death you are enormously naked, exposed and you become more sensitized. She could become a great actress.”
“I’m glad I could do something for these four children”.

Hany Abu-Assad is one of the world’s most distinctive filmmakers. The two-time Academy Award-nominated director – “Paradise Now” (2006) and “Omar” (2013)- has won countless other awards including the Berlin International Film Festival’s prestigious Blue Angel award, Best Foreign Language Film at the Golden Globes and the Special Jury Prize in Cannes’ Un Certain Regard.
He was born in Nazareth, Palestine in 1961. After having studied and worked as an airplane engineer in The Netherlands for several years, Abu-Assad entered the world of cinema as a producer and produced the feature film “Curfew”, directed by Rashid Masharawi, in 1994.
In 1998 he directed his first film, “The Fourteenth Chick”, from a script by writer Arnon Grunberg, followed by his documentary “Nazareth 2000”, his second feature film “Rana’s Wedding” and his second documentary “Ford Transit”.
In 2006 his film “Paradise Now” about two Palestinian men preparing for a suicide attack in Tel Aviv, was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. The film won the Golden Globe for Best Foreign language film in 2006.
In 2011 Abu-Assad finished working on “The Courier”, a Hollywood movie starring Jeffery Dean Morgan, Til Schweiger and Mickey Rourke.
Most recently, Abu-Assad’s “Omar”, which featured star-making performances from Adam Bakri and Leem Lubany, garnered the director his second Academy Award nomination for the edge-of-your seat thriller. The film won several worldwide prizes including the Jury Prize of Certain Regard at the Cannes Film Festival.
AMC has released an international TV spot for the season six finale of The Walking Dead, and we get our first glimpse at the most ruthless villain that Rick and his group come across... Negan. We've been waiting to see this character introduced all season, and it's gonna happen soon. Jeffery Dean Morgan was perfectly cast in the role, and there's no doubt he's going to kick ass in it and deliver a terrifying performance.
The promo doesn't show Negan's face, but it does introduce him in a perfectly teasing way by showing show him carrying his barbwire covered bat, Lucille, and he says "Hi, I'm Negan." Rick and his group are about to enter a shitstorm of chaos and pain.
The season six finale of The Walking Dead, titled "Last Day on Earth," was directed by Greg Nicotero, and it airs on AMC Sunday, April 3rd, 2016.

AMC has released a new featurette for The Walking Dead that offers fans a look at the final episodes of Season 6. It includes footage from the series along with interviews with the cast and crew, giving us their perspective on what is to come.
We've heard time and time again that what happens in the second half of this season is going to change everything. It's all due to the introduction of the villain Negan, who is played by Jeffery Dean Morgan. Norman Reedus says:
"There's some large things that happen to us in the back half. We don't all survive and we don't all take it very well."
Andrew Lincoln adds that "we do face the most formidable and terrifying threat" — and that threat is Negan, who Lincoln talked about in a previous interview that we posted earlier today, which you can read here.

For those of you who are reading The Walking Dead comic, then you know how terrifying and insane things get when Negan comes into the story. His actions really shook up the comic book series, and the same thing is going to happen with AMC's TV adaptation.
Jeffery Dean Morgan is playing the villain, and according to comic creator Robert Kirkman, the introduction of Negan is going to change the show forever. In an interview with EW, he says:
"Negan is kind of an atomic bomb that's going to be dropped on the show, and the show will never be the same after that. So buckle up, I guess?"
Negan’s group has already been teased in the series. They call themselves “The Saviors,” but we all know that’s a load of horse shit. These people aren't saviors. This group basically acts like a crime mob and they’ve set up a "protection" racket.

AMC has all hands at the pump in anticipation of the midseason premiere of The Walking Dead season 6, which will expand the network’s flagship flesh-munching series into a brand new world.
At least, that’s according to the stirring banner image revealed today, showcasing a battle-scarred Rick (Andrew Lincoln), Morgan (Lennie James) out on patrol, and your typical waves of undead. Alongside the unveiling, Executive Producer, Showrunner and series stalwart Scott M. Gimple teased the ways in which “this image gives a look at tiny pieces of a larger world our group is about to discover. In the new world, they’ll find hope, possibility, tragedy and the terrifying cost of change.”

Beatle is a quirky loner who refuses to live by society’s rules. Her only human contact is with her psychiatrist and the stripper/hooker she employs once a week. Everything changes the night she meets Athena, a suicidal blonde with a secret.
Guns for Hire is one of those films where you are absolutely sure what is going on, right up until the big reveal at the end, where you suddenly realise you did not have a clue at all what was going on. The twist within a twist within a twist is done so well, I actually did not have a clue that it was coming and was too busy enjoying Guns for Hire for what it was.

Just following last night's mid-season finale of "The Walking Dead," AMC aired a two-minute scene promoting the second half of the season. Though the scene doesn't reveal too much, consider this a spoiler alert for those who aren't caught up with the season. The scene opens with Daryl, Abraham and Sasha quietly driving down an empty road when suddenly they run into a nefarious looking gang of armed bikers blocking the road. Things get heated when one of the bikers demand Daryl and his crew to step out their vehicle and join them on the side of the road -- and that's when Negan's name is introduced. Though it's the first time the character's name has been mentioned on screen, the character has been teased for a couple of weeks now in ongoing reports. "Supernatural" actor Jeffery Dean Morgan has reportedly signed a deal with AMC to play the villain,...

After a lot of speculation on when the comic book villain would make his appearance on The Walking Dead series, and an copious amount of rumors regarding Who would portray him, AMC has picked their actor for Negan.
A few months ago there were rumors of Jon Hamm (Mad Men) supposedly set to play Walking Dead villain, Negan. Hamm had mentioned that he had spoken with show execs numerous times and mentioned in an MTV interview that “It would be fun to play the series’ most famous villain.”
I, for one, was pretty excited to hear that Hamm would be a part of the series and that he’d be playing that character. Unfortunately Hamm did not get the part. Insert sad face here. The role of Negan has been given to, Jeffery Dean Morgan. Insert wildly ecstatic smiley face here.
Morgan has starred in Supernatural, Watchmen, & The Losers to name a few.

There was a time when the release of a heist film with Robert De Niro would have made for one of the most interesting things of the year, and would be a surefire draw to theaters. If you mixed in a lot of other actors that could draw their own crowd (here – Dave Bautista, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Gina Carano, Morris Chestnut, and more), you’d have something of a lock.
Heist, which foregoes delusions with a genre title, has released a trailer which seems to contain undercurrents of self-doubt. It isn’t sure people are going to be interested, but thinks it has a new spin that makes the whole thing worth the trouble.
It certainly has something new to bring. Though not completely unique, the story isn’t really about the heist, but what happens after things go wrong. Jeffrey Dean Morgan plays Vaughn, who tries to rob a casino,...

Given the title of the film, you could be fooled into thinking that Scott Mann’s upcoming actioner Heist was a full remake of David Mamet’s 2001 film of the same name – alas, the reality is somewhat more disappointing.
Yahoo Movies has debuted the maiden trailer for Mann’s thriller. Starring Robert De Niro, Jeffery Dean Morgan and Guardians of the Galaxy alum Dave Bautista, Heist orbits around the attempts of two men desperate to rob De Niro’s crime boss, The Pope. Channeling the fast-editing and style of Ocean’s Eleven in the beginning, the trailer then switches abruptly to high-speed pursuit, with Mann’s actioner – originally titled Bus 657 – switching gears into all-out hostage thriller.
It’s a tense situation that plays out similarly to Keanu Reeves’ Speed only with less flair and even less Keanu Reeves, and the general feeling of been there, done that doesn’t have us too optimistic.

Do you think Jeffery Dean Morgan will be portaying Thomas Wayne restricted to canvas and ink or in the flesh? Perhaps he'll be playing a different character altogether? Either way, it's a pretty cool Easter Egg which will hopefully be fleshed out in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. Let us know your thoughts in the comments. In Warner Bros.' superhero followup to Man of Steel, Henry Cavill returns as Clark Kent aka Kal-El and must deal with the fallout from the World Engine attack from General Zod's Kryptonian army. Enter Ben Affleck’s “tired, weary and seasoned” Bruce Wayne. Scheming behind the scenes is Jessie Eisenberg's Lex Luthor, who's machinations could spell doom for Metropolis and Gotham's caped guardians. Wild cards at work include Diana of Themyscira aka Wonder Woman, played by Gal Gadot. And Victor Stone aka Cyborg, played by Ray Fisher. Zack Snyder directs from a...

Quite often in genre cinema, a movie will come along that will spark a wave of imitators and that first movie is so good and so powerful that whatever comes afterwards and deals with the same subject matter can’t hope to not be compared to what came first. It’s why there has never been a killer shark movie to match Jaws, why British cinema only gets good every ten years or so and it’s why there has never been a possession/exorcism film to match William Friedkin’s 1973 film The Exorcist. The film is and will remain the definitive Exorcism film and is still a powerful piece of cinema forty years later. People have tried to make up for their lack of skill and subtlety with the subject matter with CGI and experimental ways of holding the camera catching the story so over the last few years...

It is apparently acceptable these days for movies to be made from just about any basic concept. Toys, comic books, preteen novels – twenty years ago this would be called lazy writing. Today, it’s big business. Here is my list of the top ten things that may be worthwhile to see transformed into movies. Feel free to add your own - or roll your eyes.
With the release of Battleship, we are reaching the zenith of a new era in movie making that began 10 years ago with the first film adaptations of Harry Potter and Lord Of the Rings. This is the era when the big studios have all but abandoned developing new, original ideas. This is an era of endless sequels, prequels, book-to-franchise adaptations, comic book superheroes, video game adaptations, remakes…the list goes on. No staple of popular culture is safe.
Personally, I’ll take something original over...

Justin Timberlake is making a long-awaited comeback to music, but not in the way you might expect. The Wrap reports that Jt has been asked by fiancé Jessica Biel to be the composer and music supervisor for her new film, The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea. The former *Nsync member hasn’t released an album since 2006's FutureSex/LoveSounds, putting his music career on hold to star in films such as The Social Network.
Biel is both starring in and producing the film, which is scheduled to start shooting this fall. Featuring Jeffery Dean Morgan and Chloë Grace Moretz, the film follows a widower who tries to overcome his grief by befriending an imaginative young girl.
The couple has been dating for five years and got engaged in December 2011. Between this new project and planning a summer wedding, it looks like Timberlake is going to be kept pretty busy.

Benedict Cumberbatch is not a fan of season two of Downtown Abbey. He recounts Rebecca Eaton flashing him her Golden Globe for the series, and replying "Begone, woman. Bring it back when it says Sherlock or [Sherlock creator] Steven Moffat or myself — someone else who’s more deserving than the second [season] of Downton Abbey."

Starz has faith in "Magic City." The cable network has renewed the new drama before Season 1 has even hit the airwaves, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Season 2 of "Magic City" -- a period drama set in a luxury hotel hot spot for mobsters and entertainers starring Jeffery Dean Morgan -- will consist of 10 episodes.
Starz's decision to renew "Magic City " before its series premiere follows its recent model: Kelsey Grammer's "Boss" scored an early pickup before it even premiered. Despite iffy ratings, the show went on to earn two Golden Globe nominations with Grammer taking home the Best Actor award for his work on the series. "Spartacus: Vengeance" was also renewed early.
"'Magic City' is a beautifully written, superbly acted, and visually stunning series, and we feel the quality of the work accomplished deserves a second season," Chris Albrecht, CEO of Starz, said. "It has already been sold in more than 70 territories worldwide,...

The days of being "the Olsen twins' little sister" are long gone; Elizabeth Olsen is carving out quite a resume for herself.
The "Martha Marcy May Marlene" star has reportedly signed on to John Krokidas' "Kill Your Darlings" alongside Daniel Radcliffe, Jack Huston, and Dane Dehaan. The film, based on the 1944 murder at Columbia University, brought writers Allen Ginsberg and Jack Kerouac together and helped inspire the beat generation.
Radcliffe will be playing Ginsberg, while Huston will play "On The Road" writer Jack Kerouac. Olsen is set to play wealthy art student Edie Parker and Kerouac's girlfriend; Dehaan has nabbed the role Lucien Carr, Allen Ginsberg's lover. Another film featuring the famous Beat crew, the upcoming big screen adaptation of Kerouac's "On The Road," stars Sam Riley as Kerouac.

Formerly known as 'The Fields', Texas Killing Fields is the new film by Ami Canaan Mann, Michael Mann's daughter. Michael Mann is acting as producer of the crime thriller, which has been selected in competition at the 68th Venice International Film Festival. Texas Killing Fields is based on the novel of the same name and tells the story of murders in oil refineries in southeast Texas. Danny Boyle was originally attached to the project, but later left stating that the script was 'a fantastic script, really special script, but so dark it would never get made'. The cast includes Sam Worthington (Avatar), Chloe Moretz (Kick Ass, Let Me In), Jessica Chastain (The Tree Of Life) and Jeffery Dean Morgan (Watchmen). You can check out...

I first saw Dream Home at Frightfest and I pretty much fell in love with it. You can read my review of the film here. Released on DVD today by Network Releasing, Dream Home definitely comes with a strong recommendation from me.
The lead performance by Josie Ho as Cheng Li-sheung is one of many high points in the film and a couple of months ago I was lucky enough to be given the chance to email off a few questions to Josie and you can find her responses below. Dream Home was financed and produced by 852 films, a company co-founded by Josie Ho, and their next film is the Ching-Po Wong directed Revenge: A Love Story.
Cheng Li-sheung in Dream Home is a complex and fascinating character. Was there anything you specifically did to prepare to play the character and what was the experience like on set?...

Director/writer: Antti Jokinen.
United Kingdom distribution company Hammer Films is set to release its second film in thirty years, The Resident. Other films are to follow, including Wakewood and The Resident is to be released on DVD and Blu-Ray formats March 29th. The latest from Hammer Films stars Academy Award winner Hilary Swank (Insomnia) as Juliet Devereau, Christopher Lee (Season of the Witch) and Jeffery Dean Morgan (Watchmen), in a tightly wound thriller. The Resident is a study in voyeurism, as one landlord takes his privileges much too far. The result is one part mystery, a second part action thriller, and a third part horror. Once extensively working for Hammer, Christopher Lee reunites with his dear old friend after a 34 year separation and the production company's 2008 relaunch. The film that's lured Lee back to the fold firmly fits with Hammer's trademark genre – horror. The Resident is a curious project, combining Hilary Swank as lead and executive producer with Finnish TV director Antti Jokinen, who notably directed the opening segment of 2007's Eurovision Song Contest.
A very preppy-looking Swank plays surgeon Juliet, whose boyfriend cheats on her after she moves especially to New York to be near him. Still hung up on the love of her life and scarred by him betraying her in the bed they shared, Juliet seeks her own apartment in an attempt to rebuild her life. After being shown around some seriously unappealing box-rooms, she stumbles across her dream apartment and too-good-to-be-true landlord, Max (Jeffery Dean Morgan). Reasonably priced and huge, the...
