Urvashi Rautela can breathe easy. Recent reports of her scenes being removed from her new Telugu film Daaku Maharaaj for its Ott release on February 21 are completely false.

The fake news began doing the rounds after Netflix announced the Ott premier of Daaku Maharaaj. When Rautela’s face was missing from the poster, reports suggested her scenes were deleted for the Ott release.

“All cooked up! She is very much there. Not a single shot of hers has been removed from Daaku Maharaaj. We don’t know where these stories are coming from. They are baseless and concocted, planted to create some pre-release curiosity for vested interests,” a source from Netflix tells me.

The Mumbai-based event, which drew heavyweight industry figures like Martin Sorrell and Benedict Evans, turned heads with its star-studded lineup featuring Bobby Deol (“Aashram 3”), veteran action stars Suniel Shetty and Jackie Shroff (“Hunter 2”), and reality TV personalities Remo D’Souza and Malaika Arora (“Hip Hop India 2”).

The streamer, which claims a massive reach of over 250 million monthly users, is doubling down on its free, ad-supported model. “There is no other streaming service in India that offers such a massive selection of content for free,” said Karan Bedi, who heads Amazon Mx Player. Amogh Dusad, Head of Content at the platform, unveiled a lineup which included 40 new Hindi originals, as well as returning seasons of popular local shows like Aashram, Hunter, Jamnapaar, Half CA, Hip Hop India, Sixer, Who’s your Gynac and Playground.

The platform will launch reality show Rise and Fall from Banijay Asia, featuring Ashneer Grover and produced by Deepak Dhar. Billed as an “international show format”, Rise and Fall will follow a group of contestants representing diverse sections of society, who all gather in an iconic skyscraper. They are split into two groups: Rulers and Workers, with a cash prize that starts at zero and only builds if work shift tasks, overseen by the Rulers, are successfully completed by the Workers.
