“I wrote a film called Disturbia, which was Hitchcock by way of John Hughes. This felt like the evolution of that kind of a film,” Landon explains. “It straddles Hitchcock, but it’s also very much like a ’90s thriller, but it’s using very modern technology.”

Blake Crouch is a renowned sci-fi author, and while only two shows have been created from his literary works so far, there is far more potential to come from his impressive back catalog. Although changes were made to 2016's Dark Matter book for season 1, the overall story remained the same in Apple TV+'s version. However, Dark Matter season 2's confirmation calls for a very different production process.

Joel Edgerton led the cast of Dark Matter season 1 as Jason Dessen. Although the inaugural run of episodes ends with the possibility of Edgerton's return in season 2, the story's continuation would also largely make sense without his presence. Dark Matter season 1's ending implies the focus will shift to other characters.

Sad news for fans of the Orphan Black spinoff series Orphan Black: Echoes.

The Krysten Ritter-starring sequel series has been canceled after only one season, which debuted over the summer, THR reveals.

Echoes took “a deep dive into the exploration of the scientific manipulation of human existence. It follows a group of women as they weave their way into each other’s lives and embark on a thrilling journey, unravelling the mystery of their identity and uncovering a wrenching story of love and betrayal.”

The show premiere in June and aired it’s finale on August 25th, receiving a 60% critic score and a 47% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Also starring in the series were Amanda Fix, Avan Jogia, James Hiroyuki Liao, Keeley Hawes, Reed Diamond and Rya Kihlstedt.

As the series progresses, more is revealed about a cloning conspiracy that carries strong connections with the original series. The iconic Homicide: Life on the Street is finally coming to streaming. Crossing over several times with the Law & Order universe, and based on David Simon's book Homicide: A Year on the Killing Streets, the police drama is a favorite among general audiences and television historians. But because of complicated rights issues, Homicide has never been able to stream.

That will soon change, as The Hollywood Reporter confirms that Homicide: Life on the Street will be available on Peacock, starting August 19. That includes all seven seasons and 122 episodes, in addition to the series-concluding Homicide: The Movie. It will be remastered for HD and 4K viewing.

Starting Aug. 19, Peacock will feature Homicide: Life on the Street. All seven seasons and 122 episodes of the former NBC show, as well as the series-wrapping Homicide: The Movie from 2000, will be available, remastered for HD and 4K viewing.

Homicide was based on David Simon’s book Homicide: A Year on the Killing Streets and created by Paul Attanasio; Tom Fontana was the showrunner and executive produced with Barry Levinson, Henry Bromell and Jim Finnerty. The series followed detectives in Baltimore’s homicide unit and was praised for its acting and a more realistic depiction of detective work — including some cases that don’t get solved — than on many other network crime dramas.

David Simon — who wrote the book on which the series is based — teased in June that the police drama was going to end up on a streamer. “Word is that NBC has managed to finally secure the music rights necessary to sell Homicide: Life On The Streets to a streaming platform,” he wrote on X.

All seven seasons of the series and Homicide: The Movie, which has been remastered to HD and 4K, will drop August 19 on Peacock.

Andre Braugher’s cause of death has been revealed to be lung cancer, his rep has confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter.

Braugher died Monday at 61 after what his rep then said was a “brief illness.”

He starred as master interrogator Det. Frank Pembleton on NBC’s Homicide: Life on the Street for the first six seasons of the show’s acclaimed run, then played another cop, Capt. Raymond Holt — this time against type and for laughs — on the 2013-21 Fox-nbc sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine.

He won his first Emmy in 1998 for outstanding lead actor in a drama series for Homicide after a season that featured one of its most memorable episodes, “Subway.” That was a two-hander in which Pembleton tries to unearth whether a man (Vincent D’Onofrio) pinned between a Baltimore subway train and the platform was pushed onto the track — while also trying to comfort him in his dying moments.

Hollywood notables were among those taking to social media to remember Andre Braugher, who died Monday at 61.

Braugher was most known for his roles as Det. Frank Pembleton on NBC’s Homicide: Life on the Street from 1993-98, as well as Capt. Raymond Holt on Brooklyn Nine-Nine from 2013-21. He died following a brief illness, his longtime rep Jennifer Allen told The Hollywood Reporter.

Several former co-stars and industry creatives who Braugher worked with throughout his career, including Terry Crews, David Simon, Chelsea Peretti, Joel McKinnon Miller, Dirk Blocker, Reed Diamond, Mike Royce and Josh Lucas, wrote heartfelt tributes to remember the beloved actor.

“Can’t believe you’re gone so soon,” Crews, who also starred in Brooklyn Nine-Nine, wrote on Instagram Tuesday. “I’m honored to have known you, laughed with you, worked with you and shared 8 glorious years watching your irreplaceable talent. This hurts. You left us too soon.

Orphan Black: Echoes is coming to AMC, AMC+, and BBC America in 2024. Ten episodes have been produced for the Orphan Black spin-off series which will star Krysten Ritter.

“For All Mankind” Releases Season 4 Trailer

Apple TV+ has taken a giant leap toward Season 4 of its critically acclaimed space drama series “For All Mankind.” The streamer has released the official trailer for the upcoming season, which will premiere on Friday, Nov. 10 with one episode per week every Friday through Jan. 12.

The 10-episode fourth season will take place in 2003, eight years after Season 3, with Happy Valley having rapidly expanded its footprint on Mars. Krysten Ritter has fallen down an all new rabbit hole in the first look at the AMC Networks’ anticipated spinoff, Orphan Black: Echoes.

The network released the minute-and-a-half trailer on Thursday during its panel for The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, and sees a disoriented Lucy (portrayed by Ritter) waking up to an unrecognizable near future. The original series is set in the same clone-filled universe as its critically acclaimed and fan-loved BBC America predecessor, Orphan Black, which starred Tatiana Maslany.

“What’s wrong with me?” Ritter’s Lucy can be seen asking. ”Why don’t I know who I am?”

It's hard to believe that the Orphan Black franchise is staging a comeback almost seven years after its series finale.

Thankfully, it looks like Orphan Black: Echoes will fit into the franchise very well.
