This directorial debut of the Crazy Stupid Love writer is the cliched yet irresistible tale of a washed-up singer trying to win back his long-abandoned family – and cop off with Annette Bening
“How do you think the movie playing out in your head is going to end?” asks Tom Donnelly, an abandoned son, to his ageing, rock-star father. It’s a gutsy moment for a film like Danny Collins, a film that, let’s face it, is wall-to-wall cliché. But there’s the old expression: it’s the singer, not the song. And Danny Collins the film, as well as Danny Collins the character, proves it to be true. There’s nothing resembling a surprise in this movie, but its simple tune works due to the quality of the performances.

Acting as something of a spiritual predecessor of 2012’s bike thriller Premium Rush, starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Michael Shannon, Thomas Michael Donnelly’s 1986 film Quicksilver has a few similarities but ultimately suffers in comparison. Kevin Bacon gives the lead role his all as a Wall Street investor turned bike messenger after losing every cent in a single bad day on the trading floor, and the rest of the cast holds up their end too. Quicksilver’s problem isn’t the actors playing the parts, it’s the fact that the parts seem jammed into a story that stops and starts and veers all over the board as it struggles to choose what to do with itself as it lurches towards the final showdown between a crazed criminal in a car and Kevin Bacon pedaling like a madman through the back alleys of New York/San Francisco/La (or whatever city...

It looks like Andy Richter will be stepping from behind the podium on Conan to another podium (I am guessing) for a new game show on TBS entitled Pyramid. The show is reportedly a modern-day take on the iconic game show that began asThe $10,000 Pyramid.
I really enjoye watching Men of A Certain Age, and highly recommend it. The new shows don't really catch my interest yet, aside from Pyramid. Check out the full lineup below and share your thoughts on what shows you are most interested in seeing.

Danson on case for 'Fathers'
Emmy and Golden Globe winner Ted Danson has been tapped as the lead in Our Fathers, Showtime's adaptation of David France's book about the sexual abuse scandal in the U.S. Roman Catholic Church. Danson will play Mitchell Garabedian, the Boston lawyer who took on the local Archdiocese as the attorney for some of the first victims of molestation who spoke out. Danson joins previously cast Christopher Plummer, who will portray Boston's controversial Cardinal Bernard Law, and Brian Dennehy, who will play Father Domenic "Spags" Spagnolia (HR 5/7). "Who could ask for more in a movie than a triumvirate of the most acclaimed and revered actors of stage, screen and television brought together to bring life to these characters of extraordinary depth and resonance," Showtime Networks entertainment president Robert Greenblatt said. Production on Our Fathers is slated to begin June 21 in Toronto and Boston. Dan Curtis is directing from a script by Thomas Michael Donnelly.

'Fathers' day for Dennehy at Showtime
Brian Dennehy has been tapped to star opposite Christopher Plummer in Our Fathers, Showtime's adaptation of David France's book about the sexual abuse scandal within the U.S. Roman Catholic Church. Dennehy will play Father Domenic "Spags" Spagnolia, a popular, straight-talking, salty-tongued Boston priest who speaks out against the archdiocese when the scandal breaks. However, he soon finds himself on the defensive when he is outed by a former gay lover and a story emerges that he sexually assaulted a young boy. Dan Curtis is set to direct the film from a screenplay by Thomas Michael Donnelly. Filming is slated to begin next month. Dennehy, who recently co-starred in Showtime's The Roman Spring of Mrs. Stone, will next be seen in Spike Lee's She Hate Me. He is repped by ICM and Susan Smith and Associates.
