Will There Ever Be a ‘Kill Bill Vol. 3’?
Image
Quentin Tarantino is one of the most revered filmmakers of his generation. From Reservoir Dogs to Django Unchained, Tarantino has never failed to amaze fans and critics with his incredible genius and filmmaking talent. However, when many of us hear the name ‘Quentin Tarantino,’ his bloody Kill Bill saga is sure to come first to our minds.

Essentially a revenge saga for the ages, the franchise has today assumed the status of cult classic, drawing in viewers even today.

At the heart was Beatrix Kiddo, aka the Bride, portrayed by Uma Thurman. A former assassin on a relentless quest for vengeance, both films not only turned out to be box office successes but also cemented their place in pop culture,...

4K Review: The Epic Continues in Kill Bill Vol. 2
Image
After annihilating a bevy of assassins including Vernita Green (Vivica A. Fox), O-Ren Ishii (Lucy Liu), her Crazy 88s and her advisor Sofie Fatale (Julie Dreyfus) in a veritable tsunami of blood in Kill Bill: Vol. 1, The Bride (Uma Thurman) goes on to the other names on her list. Bud (Michael Madsen), Elle Driver (Daryl Hannah), and the most evil of them all, their leader Bill (David Carradine). Kill Bill: Vol. 2 has more character development and backstory than Vol. 1, though Tarantino did spend a good amount of time on O-Ren Ishii’s past via an animated segment, which no doubt saved the production a few million dollars. For example, both Bud and Bill are brothers and murdering bastards but they have a gentler...

Jackie Brown, Kill Bill to Receive 4K Ultra HD SteelBook Releases
Image
The vibes on your media shelves are about to get very cool, as Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill Vol. 1, Kill Bill Vol. 2, and Jackie Brown will all receive 4K Ultra HD SteelBook releases on January 21st, 2025.

The third and “fourth” films made by Tarantino represent the director truly coming into his stride as an auteur. Jackie Brown, adapted from the Elmore Leonard novel Rum Punch, featured Pam Grier as a flight attendant drawn into a criminal enterprise. It was a career-revitalizing role for Grier, alongside an ensemble cast including Samuel L. Jackson, Robert Forster, Bridget Fonda, Michael Keaton, and Robert De Niro.

The Kill Bill saga featured Tarantino paying homage to some of his favorite genres, including martial arts movies, blaxploitation, spaghetti westerns, and more. Uma Thurman stars as The Bride (aka Beatrix Kiddo), a woman out for revenge after losing everything on her wedding day. The two-volume epic also starred Lucy Liu,...

The Crow: Stairway to Heaven (1998 – 1999) – Horror TV Shows We Miss
Image
Let’s dream the crow black dream. I’m Niki Minter and this week on the Eric Draven files, we have The Crow: Stairway to Heaven. This is the first time we have a series that I feel lukewarm about. However, this is one that does have its fans and there’s a reason, aside from the upcoming reimagining, that we’re discussing it. This should be a fun time.

Okay, so, I caught Stairway on the Sci-Fi channel a few times here and there during its initial run. It caught my interest but never enough to start it from the beginning. What’s interesting about this is that it’s based on the 1994 movie adaptation which was pulled from James O’Barr’s original comic. Mark Dacascos would be the one and only person ever to fill the role once held by Brandon Lee. This is an interesting take, right?...

The Many Quentin Tarantino Movies That Never Got Made
Image
Quentin Tarantino loves film. Few filmmakers can boast such a wide knowledge of movies, especially the B-films and grindhouse works that have inspired his greatest cinematic accomplishments. Tarantino also loves to talk about future projects. Put those two passions together and you get a guy who often teases movies he never actually ends up making.

Of course, it’s not always talk. Many of his best movies, including Kill Bill and Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood started as ideas that he blabbed about to anyone who would listen. But while that approach builds excitement, it also sets up fans for disappointment, such as when it was revealed that he had abandoned The Movie Critic, which for months was teased as the director’s 10th and final film.

Now including The Movie Critic, here are the most intriguing Tarantino projects that never got made.

Double V Vega

Perhaps the longest rumored unmade Tarantino,...

Kill Bill Vol. 3: Tarantino's Comments, The Kill Bill Trilogy Story & Everything We Know
Image
Quentin Tarantino has a long list of unmade movies, but the one that initially seemed somewhat possible was Kill Bill 3, — here’s everything Quentin Tarantino has shared about the third Kill Bill movie since Kill Bill: Volume 2 came out, but be warned, the latest Kill Bill 3 news isn't good. Tarantino’s career as a filmmaker began in 1992 with the crime movie Reservoir Dogs, but his big break arrived two years later with Pulp Fiction. Since then, Tarantino has explored different genres with his movies — from slasher with Death Proof to western with Django Unchained and The Hateful Eight, and even martial arts with Kill Bill.

Tarantino expanded his horizons in 2003 with Kill Bill, a martial arts movie that introduced audiences to Beatrix Kiddo/The Bride (Uma Thurman), who was on a revenge mission to end with a team of assassins she used to work with and their leader, Bill...

All The Movies Tarantino Can Make Without It Being His 10th & Final Film
Image
Quentin Tarantino has famously said he will only make 10 movies and then he will retire, and as both Kill Bill movies count as one, he only has one spot left, but there are some projects he can make that won’t necessarily count as part of those 10 movies. Quentin Tarantino’s career as a filmmaker began in 1992 with the crime movie Reservoir Dogs, which introduced viewers to Tarantino’s peculiar sense of humor and visual and narrative style.

Tarantino's big break arrived two years later with Pulp Fiction, another crime movie but with the particularity of being told in a non-linear way. Since then, Tarantino has explored a variety of genres in his movies – from slasher with Death Proof to martial arts with Kill Bill, and he has even explored alternate versions of history with Inglourious Basterds and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. With Kill Bill and Kill Bill: Volume 2 counting as one,...

Uma Thurman Says ‘Kill Bill Vol. 3’ Is ‘Not Immediately on the Horizon’ Despite Fan Wishes
Image
Bad news for “Kill Bill” fans. Despite Quentin Tarantino stirring up buzz for “Kill Bill Vol. 3” in interviews over the last few years, franchise star Uma Thurman confirmed on SiriusXM’s “The Jess Cagle Show” that a third entry in the series is “not immediately on the horizon.” Thurman starred as Beatrix “The Bride” Kiddo in Tarantino’s martial arts revenge drama, which shot as one film but was released in two separate parts. Fans have long clamored for “Vol. 3,” which Tarantino has maintained is a possibility.

“I can’t really tell you anything about it,” Thurman said. “I mean it has been discussed over the years. There was real thought about it happening, but very long ago. I don’t see it as immediately on the horizon.”

Thurman added, “I hate to disappoint people. Everybody wishes it would be the case, but I think it’s not immediately on the horizon.

‘Kill Bill Vol. 3’ Would Star Maya Hawke as The Bride’s Daughter and Maybe Bring Back Elle Driver
Image
Quentin Tarantino only has one movie left to make before his planned retirement from feature filmmaking. While the director flirted in several 2019 interviews with the idea of making his long-discussed “Kill Bill Vol. 3,” it now seems unlikely he’ll follow through, as he wants his tenth and final movie to be “an epilogue” to his career. And yet, Tarantino remains excited by what a potential “Kill Bill Vol. 3” would have in store. While visiting “The Joe Rogan Experience” this week to promote his “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” novel, Tarantino confirmed a bit of casting he would do if “Kill Bill Vol. 3″ moved forward.

“I think it’s just revisiting the characters twenty years later and just imagining the Bride and her daughter, Bebe, having 20 years of peace, and then that peace is shattered,” Tarantino said. “And now The Bride and Bebe are on the run and...

Vivica A. Fox Wants Zendaya To Seek Revenge As Her Daughter in A ‘Kill Bill’ Sequel
Image
In a new interview with NME, Vivica A. Fox revealed her hopes for a third edition of the “Kill Bill” franchise and knows exactly who she wants to be its star: Zendaya.

Fox played Vernita Green, who was brutally murdered by Uma Thurman’s The Bride in the opening scene of “Kill Bill: Vol. 1.”

Director Quentin Tarantino has been hinting at the possibility of “Kill Bill: Vol. 3” for a while, outlining that the new installment would star Green’s daughter on a journey to avenge her mother’s death.

“The star will be Vernita Green’s [Fox’s] daughter, Nikki,” Tarantino told Entertainment Weekly in a 2004 interview. “I’ve already got the whole mythology: Sofie Fatale [Julie Dreyfus] will get all of Bill’s money. She’ll raise Nikki, who’ll take on the Bride. Nikki deserves her revenge every bit as much as the Bride deserved hers.

Kill Bill 3 Is in the Cards, But Tarantino Will Do a Play and TV Show First
Quentin Tarantino at an event for The Oscars (2013)
Quentin Tarantino is teasing the possibility of Kill Bill: Vol. 3, admitting he has an idea in mind should he ever pursue the project. Speaking with Andy Cohen for an interview on Andy Cohen Live, Tarantino revealed he recently spoke with Kill Bill star Uma Thurman and the potential of a third movie, suggesting there's a strong possibility of it happening sometime down the road. When asked directly if there would in fact be a Kill Bill 3, Tarantino had this to say.

"Well, I just so happened to have had dinner with Uma Thurman last night... I do have an idea of what I would do. That was the whole thing, was conquering that concept, exactly what's happened to the bride? And do I want to do? Because I wouldn't want to just come up with some cockamamie adventure. She doesn't deserve that, you know, the bride has fought long and hard.

Uma Thurman in Kill Bill: Vol. 1 (2003)
'Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair' Coming to Theaters in 2015?
Uma Thurman in Kill Bill: Vol. 1 (2003)
As many of you may know, director Quentin Tarantino's original version of Kill Bill was just one, extremely long film. The four-hour movie originally debuted at the Cannes Film Festival in 2003, before The Weinstein Company asked the filmmaker to cut it into Kill Bill Vol. 1 and Kill Bill Vol. 2.

Since its initial release over a decade ago, several fans have been wondering if the filmmaker's original version will ever see the light of day, which has since been dubbed Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair. Director Quentin Tarantino teased during his Comic-Con appearance yesterday that he has been in discussions with The Weinstein Company about a limited theatrical release sometime next year. Here's what Quentin Tarantino had to say, revealing that a new extended animated sequence will be included that runs over a half-hour, and was completed independently by Japanese anime studio I.G.

Quentin Tarantino No Longer Interested in Kill Bill Vol. 3, But He Wants to Do a Horror Movie
Uma Thurman in Kill Bill: Vol. 1 (2003)
For fans of Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill Vol. 1 and Kill Bill Vol. 2 who were hoping to see Kill Bill: Vol. 3 some day, the director reveals in a recent interview that he has no plans to make that sequel at this time.

Though, he does hint at taking on the horror genre.

"I've done what I wanted to do by the time I was this age. Today, I'm further down the road. There are no genres I absolutely want to do any more, like ticking boxes: 'This, done'. I don't think about Kill Bill 3 that much, as... we already visited them. If there was something I would like to work on again, it would be Honshu's movies, maybe. Or a horror movie, perhaps."

While he doesn't want to revisit the action/kung fu genre with Kill Bill 3, the filmmaker revealed last month that his next project will be another Western.

Vinyan Review | The Youth Are Getting Restless
Belgian director Fabrice Du Welz has a singularly unusual, and frequently disturbing, view of humanity that translates into some truly unsettling films. Anyone who has seen his 2004 film Calvaire and walked away unscathed can attest to this. Sort of a Belgian Lars Von Trier, he's an auteur with an astonishing eye for visual imagery, determined to use startling and frequently beautiful camerawork to show viewers a dark side of humanity that lies behind doors we would probably prefer remain closed.

2009's Vinyan is no exception. Not as outright crazy nor jaw-droppingly shocking as Calvaire, it is nonetheless a harrowing journey that examines themes of parenthood, tribalism, and Eastern/Western dichotomies. Vinyan stars Rufus Sewell and Emmanuelle Béart as Paul and Jeanne Bellmer, a married couple living in Thailand, trying to deal with the disappearance of their son months ago. Paul is slowly coming to a grim acceptance, while Jeanne is...

Tarantino's 'Baby Fever'
Quentin Tarantino at an event for The Oscars (2013)
Director Quentin Tarantino hasn't ruled out having kids at age 46 - because he's convinced he would be a "great dad".

The Inglourious Basterds filmmaker has been romantically linked to a string of actresses including Mira Sorvino, Julie Dreyfus and his self-described "muse" Uma Thurman.

And though Tarantino hasn't married he admits he's longed to start a family, and now he's just waiting for the right time.

He says, "There was a time a few years back that I kind of had baby fever. I kind of wanted to have a kid and I kind of got over it - not that I don't want to have kids but I just didn't have baby fever anymore. I just want to take it any way it comes... I'm really good with kids actually. You hear those stories like once you have kids your life is over but I actually like my life the way it is. That being said, I think I'd be a great dad. I'd like to come back and have me for a dad."...

The surprise, but crazy Best Supporting Actress nomination for Diane Kruger in Inglourious Basterds, no Up In The Air nom for Best Ensemble, even though it saw three acting nominations, and nothing for Julianne Moore of A Single Man or Alfred Molina of An Education.

The morning the Screen Actors Guild announced the nominees for the 16th annual SAG awards. The actual ceremony will be held Saturday, January 23rd. There are a lot of gay-faves on the list of nominees.

Freshmen series Glee and Modern Family are competing against each other for Beest TV Comedy Ensemble.

And surprisingly (at least for me) the cast of True Blood is up for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series.

Brad opened up about his work in the film, as well as his recent motorcycle troubles and his plans to expand his bike collection. Here's more: On his recent motorcycle accident: "I had a little mishap. No injuries, except my ego. I was trying to get away from some paparazzi and instead gave them a good story. It was my favorite bike, so that is really sad." On replacing his damaged bike: "I will definitely be looking at motorcycles [while in Japan]. You've got some of the best builders right here." On landing the role in Quentin's film: "We had heard about...

Diane Kruger "Fought" for Her Inglourious Basterds Role
German actress Diane Kruger has appeared in dozens of movies, but other than the National Treasure flicks, few have been seen by American audiences. Her appearance in Quentin Tarantino's new film should expose her talents to a much wider audience.

In Inglourious Basterds, Kruger plays Bridget von Hammersmark, a popular film star in Nazi Germany who is secretly spying for the Allies. She admits to The Insider that she was not Tarantino's original choice for the role.

I fought for the part. I knocked down doors. I wasn't meant to be in this movie at all — Quentin had someone else in mind, and for whatever reason that didn't work out, and then I finally got to audition and that was it.

He doesn't care who you are or what you have done before — he totally resurrected Bruce Willis's career and John Travolta's career. So just being hired...

Brad Pitt Takes Basterds Home With Him
Only days ago, it was reported that Brad Pitt would only bring his oldest child, Maddox, to the set of Inglourious Basterds because Pitt didn't "think it would be right" to bring the younger children. Despite this patriarchal dictum, Pitt apparently has no problem taking Inglourious Basterds home with him.

Pitt plays Lt. Aldo Rains, a hillbilly from the mountains of Tennessee and the orchestrater of the revenge plan against the Nazis that serves as the spine of the movie's plot. In a recent interview, Pitt said that he often practiced his character's accent at home.

I did! I'd tell those little "basterds" to get out there and start scalpin'! Inglorious Basterds also stars Mike Myers, Diane Kruger, B.J. Novak, Julie Dreyfus, and Eli Roth.

Hannah Montana Inspired Eli Roth's Inglourious Basterds Fury
Eli Roth is not as well known in front of the camera as he is behind it, but that will likely change once Quentin Tarantino's WWII revenge movie, Inglourious Basterds, opens next week. Roth wrote and directed the horror film Hostel, but steps into the spotlight in Basterds as Sgt. Donny Donowitz, a fierce Jewish Nazi hunter.

Roth's character, nicknamed "The Bear Jew" by the Nazis, specializes in bashing his enemies to a pulp with a baseball bat. To prepare to film such emotionally charged scenes, Roth said that he called on the memories of his deceased Jewish relatives and an unlikely source of inspiration: Miley Cyrus and the music of Hannah Montana.

I went back and forth thinking about my relatives being killed in concentration camps to listening to Hannah Montana.

You couldn't ever put me in a Hannah Montana concert with a baseball bat or I would wipe the place out.

Brad Pitt Declared Inglourious Basterds Set Inappropriate for Children
According to actor Samm Levine, a World War II movie set is no place for children, especially if those children belong to co-star Brad Pitt. Levine told E! that Pitt brought his oldest son, Maddox, but refused to bring his other children to the set of Quentin Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds.

He brought Maddox one or two times because he's the oldest. But everybody wanted him to bring the others, too. Everyone would always ask him, "Hey! When are you going to bring the kids?" And he said, "It's a World War II movie. What's a good day to bring my kids to this set? I don't think it would be right." So he had a point there. And we were all pretty bummed about that, but we respected his reasoning. He's a pretty responsible guy. Inglorious Basterds also stars Mike Myers, Diane Kruger, B.J. Novak, Julie Dreyfus and Eli Roth.

Tarantino Joins Weinstein in Stifling the Inglourious Basterds Rumors
Director Quentin Tarantino's latest film Inglourious Basterds, about a WWII "revenge squad" hell-bent on delivering some much-needed retribution to the Nazis for their many atrocities, has been long mired in rumor and speculation. Producer Harvey Weinstein and Tarantino have had enough. Following a showing of the film at Cannes that garnered mixed reviews, rumors started spreading that the 2:28 film was "too long for American audiences" and as much as 40 minutes might be cut for the theatrical release.

In response to the rumors, which only continued to germinate once the news hit the blogosphere, Weinstein told GQ a few weeks ago that the rumors were utterly fabricated. Now in an interview with Variety, Tarantino revealed the run-time for the final cut, stating:

I've heard these rumors that the studios told me to cut out 40 minutes. These are complete lies. The movie is actually a minute longer, in running time,...

"Inglourious Basterds" Approaching Theaters In August
Prepare for an ensemble epic war film by writer/director Quentin Tarantino. The spelling-challenged "Inglourious Basterds" is hitting theaters on August 21.

Premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in May, the WWII-themed film will bow down in the big screen this coming month. Brad Pitt leads the all-star cast of the project, which is expected to showcase violence aplenty just like any other Tarantino films.

The much-awaited film will follow a group of Jewish-American soldiers dubbed as "The Basterds" in their Nazi killing spree, while a young Jewish woman seeks revenge from a Nazi colonel known as "The Jew Hunter" for the death of her family.

Joining Pitt is a slew of stellar cast, including Eli Roth, B.J. Novak, Mike Myers, Cloris Leachman, Melanie Laurent, Christoph Waltz, Samuel L. Jackson, Diane Kruger, and Julie Dreyfus among others.

New Inglourious Basterds Poster
The Weinstein Co. has released yet another poster for Quentin Tarantino's upcoming World War II revenge movie, Inglourious Basterds. This one marks the 14th poster released for the movie, which some might call unnecessary but has, frankly, been a pretty cool campaign. If all your posters are this good, you earn the right to do that — otherwise please refrain (we're looking in your direction, G.I. Joe: Rise of the Cobra).

The image is similar to earlier posters and stills of Brad Pitt as Lt. Aldo Raine, but composed in a manner stolen from reminiscent of works by master fantasy artist Frank Frazetta.

Inglorious Basterds also stars Mike Myers, Diane Kruger, B.J. Novak, Julie Dreyfus, and Eli Roth.
