Star Wars Celebration Europe 2023 announced more guests attending the convention, which will be held April 7-10, 2023, at ExCeL London. Billy Dee Williams (Lando Calrissian), Rosario Dawson (Ahsoka Tano), Gwendoline Christie (Captain Phasma), Joonas Suotamo (Chewbacca), and Ming-Na Wen (Fennec Shand) will be in attendance. Joining them are Aidan Cook (Doctor Quadpaw), Silas Carson (Ki-Adi-Mundi and Nute Gunray), and Matthew Wood (General Grievous). 

Also, to celebrate the 40th anniversary of "Star Wars: Return of the Jedi," you can expect many cast members from the film to be in attendance, including Michael Carter (Bib Fortuna), Sean Crawford (Yak Face), Tim Dry (J'Quille), Femi Taylor (Oola), Mike Edmonds (Logray), Mike Quinn (Nien Nunb), Tim Rose (Admiral Ackbar), and Caroline Blakiston (Mon Mothma).

Directed by Harry Bromley-Davenport, who co-wrote the story with Michel Parry, and written for the screen by Iain Cassie and Robert Smith, is a cult film that, in my view, is long overdue a new release, and this Second Sight project is worth the wait. It tells the story of a man who is abducted by alien lifeforms and three years afterwards he returns to his home, not the man he once was. It’s a gem of b-movie gory horror, with an unnerving tone, nasty sequences and some dated yet effective special effects. The practical gore effects are especially fun to watch, even 36 years later. If you are unaware of the film, and so unaware...

Nope, this isn’t Et, The Extraterrestrial, not by a long shot. Guest reviewer Lee Broughton offers an assessment of Harry Bromley Davenport’s British cult sci-fi shocker of modest means, a show that would be pure exploitation if not for some creditable performances. It’s nasty but has a basic competence and is not just more cynical grist for the mill. ‘Phone Home,’ my Aunt Fannie: sometimes the difference between a thriller like this and a higher-profile classic is just pretension.

Room is a powerful and distressing film. Thanks to actors Brie Larson and Jacob Tremblay, perhaps even more so than the novel from which it was adapted. Thirty years ago, Marty McFly was riding high with the smash hit Back To The Future, while Sylvester Stallone enjoyed his most successful year yet with the one-two punch of Rambo: First Blood Part II and Rocky IV. It was an era of family sci-fi and teen comedies and bullet-spraying action, where The Breakfast Club and Teen Wolf rubbed shoulders with Death Wish 3 and Commando. Started in 2008, the Star Wars Fan Fun Day is an event for Star Wars fans by Star Wars fans. Held at Burnley Football Club, the event has grown from strength to strength, with last years fun day seeing attendance rise to 2000 people (which given the size of the facilities at Burnley Fc is a heck of a lot of people) and best of all, it’s an event enjoyed by both die hard fans and families alike – plus it has raised thousands of pounds for charity.

Marvel Comics has announced that they will be liquidating a huge selection of hardcover collections to retailers at a fraction of the cost in order to flush their stocks. This was a move that DC Comics also made recently, helping to improve their dollar-per-product-item-in-stock ratio.

There's a art show coming up in the Los Angeles area later this month called Night of Vanity: The Deliciously Debauched and it's showing off the dark vampire inspired art of Josh Steadman. It will be held on October 25th at 8pm at the Vampire Lounge & Tasting Room in Santa Monica. The piece you see above is one of a few that will be on display. All the frames for the event are one-of-a kind antique frames, that are themed based on the piece.

Organisers have announced the return of the Star Wars Fan Fun Day, a one day convention that takes place in the heart of the North West. And this year looks set to be bigger than the last, with David Prowse, aka Darth Vader himself, in attendance! Along with Vader, the convention promises the largest gatherin of Star Wars cast members ever inthe North West.
