Prince William’s Request To His Grandmother
As per a report by The Telegraph, Prince William made an interesting request to Queen Elizabeth after he and Kate said their “I do’s”.
William was hoping to use ‘Prince William’ as his name after he and Kate got married, with her official name becoming ‘Princess Catherine’. He did not want to use the Duke of Cambridge and Duchess of Cambridge titles. Sadly, for William, The Queen didn’t agree to what was asked, and the request was denied.
The Queen’s Reasoning For Decline

On September 16, two years ago today, King Charles led his siblings to carry out the Vigil of the Princes at Westminster Abbey.
Queen Elizabeth’s Vigil Of The Princes Was The Third Ceremony Of Its Kind
Charles, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew, and Prince Edward stood surrounding their late mother’s coffin for ten minutes as her body lay in state. Princess Anne made history as the first female to participate in the ceremony.
Slowly and in unison, they turned outwards. The Queen’s four children turned outwards. They were silent and motionless as they bowed their heads.
This was the four siblings’ final ceremonial tribute to the monarch, their mother, and the Queen. It was the third ceremony of its kind ever. The Vigil of the Princes is relatively new compared to other royal traditions. The royal tradition dates back to 1936, after King George V passed.

It is no secret that Prince Harry and his Royal family, which includes King Charles, Prince William, and Kate Middleton, have strained relations.
The animosity between them seems so great that, as Monsters and Critics have reported, King Charles may never see his grandchildren, Prince Louis and Princess Lilibet, again.
King Charles was at Balmoral during August and reportedly made plans for the monarchy’s future without Prince Harry or Meghan, which doesn’t bode well for their relationship.
While Kate and Prince William’s children visit Balmoral this summer, no one can mention Prince Harry and Meghan’s names around the children.
Prince Harry and Meghan have a lot of work to do to repair these relationships, but there hasn’t been much progress, even in the wake of King Charles’ cancer diagnosis.

King Charles has been officially crowned.
As important as who came to the coronation ceremony, however, is where they were seated.
People reports that while Charles and Queen Camilla were given the seats of honour in Westminster Abbey, his son Prince William and his family were seated in the front row.
5-year-old Prince Louis, his 8-year-old daughter Princess Charlotte, and then Kate Middleton were seated beside him. 9-year-old Prince George wasn’t with his family as he was attending the ceremony as a Page of Honour.

Queen Elizabeth II‘s body has left Buckingham Palace for the last time. Mourners came out in droves on Wednesday to see the historic procession of the late British monarch as her coffin travelled from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Hall.
Somberly walking behind Her Majesty’s casket was her son, King Charles III, and two grandsons, Prince William and Prince Harry.
Other royals included in the procession were Elizabeth’s other children, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew, and Prince Edward. Both Harry and Andrew were not wearing their military uniforms as both have stepped down as senior members of the royal family in recent years.
On Tuesday, a spokesperson for the Duke of Sussex released a statement to royal reporters about Harry’s reaction to not being allowed to wear his uniform despite his decade of service.

Judi Dench is set to play Cecily, Duchess of York opposite Benedict Cumberbatch in the title role of The BBC's upcoming TV adaptation of Shakespeare's "Richard III".
The telemovie will be part of the second series of "The Hollow Crown," following on from 2012's successful four telemovie adaptations of Shakespeare's historical plays. That series, starring the likes of Jeremy Irons, Tom Hiddleston and Ben Whishaw, adapted "Richard II," "Henry IV Part 1," "Henry IV Part 2" and "Henry V".
"The Hollow Crown: The Wars of the Roses" will adapt the other famed historical tetralogy of Shakespeare - the three parts of "Henry VI" and "Richard III". One difference this time out is that the telemovies will be trilogy with "Henry VI" being shrunk from a three-part play into a two-part telemovie.
Tom Sturridge ("On the Road," "The Boat That Rocked") has been cast as Henry VI in both parts of that production.

The White Queen star Aneurin Barnard has defended the show's historical inaccuracies.
The BBC show's supposed lack of authenticity has displeased some viewers and critics, who believe the series should portray the true events of the time.
However, Barnard has claimed that the show would be "pretty boring" if it told the truth all of the time.
He told the Radio Times: "This interpretation is based upon historical events but it has to reach certain standards of entertaining the audience.
"What kind of scene will entertain them more than if we just played the truth? Because the truth can be pretty boring. You have to up the stakes and make something up or twist it to make it a little bit more exciting."
Barnard plays Richard, Duke of Gloucester (later Richard III) in the adaptation of Philippa Gregory's 2009 novel.
The 26-year-old actor said he supports the series's more favourable portrayal of Richard III.

More than 500 years later, historians and archaeologists have unearthed, and then validated the skeleton remains of the two-year term King of England, and in the same token, the Criterion folks issue the crisp, restored Blu-ray edition of Laurence Olivier’s Richard III, his third feature as a director following 1944′s Henry V and 1948′s Hamlet. In 1957, the film earned him an Oscar nomination for Best Actor in a Leading Role. During the same year, the film won Golden Globe Award for Best English-Language Foreign Film.
The great Olivier is Richard the Duke of Gloucester, a man with an insatiable appetite for power. He often smiles but his heart is full of poison. Assisted by the corrupt Duke of Buckingham (Ralph Richardson, Doctor Zhivago), he plans to kill his brother George (John Gielgud, The Elephant Man) and two nephews, while winning the heart of the vulnerable The Lady Anne (Claire Bloom,...

"I can smile, and murder while I smile," confides that notorious noble, Richard, Duke of Gloucester, "and frame my face to all occasions." But they do not in fact appear in "Richard III" -- rather, Olivier's pilfered them from Gloucester's monologue in Act III of "Henry VI, Part 3." The lines flow seamlessly from the original text -- it was only in searching for an accurate quotation that I discovered the discrepancy -- and yet illuminate Richard's damaged dissembling. Olivier knew, almost preternaturally, that the interest lay in the interpretation, in twisting the page to fit the screen, though only to a point. This...

This week: Bill Murray as President Franklin D. Roosevelt is the highlight of "Hyde Park on Hudson," which should in no way be considered a historically accurate account of Fdr's meeting with the King and Queen of England in 1939.
Also new this week are two Criterion Collection Blu-ray debuts: Laurence Olivier's "Richard III" ("My kingdom for a horse!") and David Cronenberg's "Naked Lunch" ("Exterminate all rational thought").
'Hyde Park on Hudson'
Box Office: $6.4 million
Rotten Tomatoes: 38% Rotten
Storyline: Based on the private journals and diaries of Margaret 'Daisy' Suckley (Laura Linney) that were found after her death, this biographical comedy drama takes a look at the events surrounding a pivotal historical meeting in upstate New York between President Franklin D. Roosevelt (Bill Murray) and the King and Queen of England on the eve of World War II. The British royals walk into an awkward domestic situation as Fdr's wife,...
