Cable network Great American Family announced Wednesday that Cameron Bure and Mathison will make their debut as co-stars with Home Sweet Christmas, an original holiday movie set to air on the channel in 2024. The project is currently in production and will be part of the fourth annual Great American Christmas block of programming.

Hailing from Syrup Studios and Candy Rock Entertainment, Home Sweet Christmas centers on Sophie Marlow (Cameron Bure), a mergers and acquisitions attorney who returns to her hometown in the state of Washington after her late uncle leaves her 60 percent of his maple forest property. Sarah Michelle Gellar is glad that NBC passed on a TV series based on her 1999 film “Cruel Intentions.”

The actress discussed the reboot during a recent interview with The New York Times. The pilot was ordered in February 2016, but the network had passed on the series by October of the same year. Gellar would have reprised her iconic role as the manipulative Kathryn Merteuil.

But, ultimately, she agreed that the series wasn’t a fit for network television.

“Nothing against NBC, but ‘Cruel Intentions’ is straight streaming,” she said. “On the first day, I was like, ‘This isn’t working.’ It’s just not a network show. And if it is a network show, it’s not my ‘Cruel Intentions.’ So, I was actually grateful.”

Exclusive: Double Dutch International (Ddi) has closed several key territories at the Afm on A.R.C.H.I.E. starring Michael J Fox.

Arc Entertainment has acquired Us rights and California Filmes will distribute in Latin America, Jigsaw in Australia, Programme Store in France and Prima Cinema in Indonesia.

Robin Dunne makes his feature directorial debut on A.R.C.H.I.E., which stars Fox as a robotic canine developed by the military who befriends the niece of a small-town sheriff.

Katherine Isabelle also stars with Dunne. Shayne Putzlocher, Glenn Paradis and Sara Shaak of Trilight Entertainment produce and Clairwood Capital Management finance the feature.

Arc plans an April release after Scott Moesta negotiated the deal with Ddi president Jason Moring.

Jason Moring, Ddi president, announced that Billy Zane ("Zoolander 2," "Titanic") and Kim Coates ( "Sons of Anarchy," "Black Hawk Down") have joined Trilight Entertainment's feature film, "The Adventure Club."

The family feature film is written by Fred Ewanuick and Robin Dunne, directed by Geoff Anderson and Produced by Shayne Putzlocher, Glenn Paradis, Sara Shaak and Mark Montague.

Principal photography has now started in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. "The Adventure Club" will be distributed internationally through Ddi and introduced to buyers at the upcoming 2015 American Film Market, November 4-11.

Back To The Future star Michael J. Fox will voice a robotic canine whose existence is threatened by the planned closure of a military programme and flees to a small town where he befriends a young woman whose uncle is bidding to get re-elected as mayor.

Robin Dunne makes his feature directorial debut from his own screenplay.

Shayne Putzlocher, Glenn Paradis and Sara Shaak of Trilight Entertainment produce and Clairwood Capital Management finances the project.

Russ and Roger Go Beyond

Josh Gad has closed a deal to play legendary film critic Roger Ebert in the Michael Winterbottom-directed comedy "Russ & Roger Go Beyond" for Stx Entertainment. Gad will play opposite Will Ferrell as sexploitation maestro Russ Meyer.

The debauched comedy follows two no-holds-barred outsiders who defied the Hollywood establishment to make "Beyond the Valley of the Dolls," one of the first X-rated films ever released by a major movie studio. Filming begins later this year. [Source: Variety]

Fox is set to provide the voice of the lead character, a dog named Archie, in the animated movie “A.R.C.H.I.E.,” it was announced Tuesday by Jason Moring, president of Double Dutch International, which will begin shopping the project next week at Toronto. “A.R.C.H.I.E.” will be written and directed by Robin Dunne (“Just Friends”), who’s making his feature directorial debut. It was only a matter of time before Disney jumped into the horror game – Ok, kidding. No, that’s not a deformed Mickey Mouse standing in the fires of Hell, but instead one of the masked menaces found in Jordan Barker’s Torment. Blending elements of “torture porn” and slasher mainstays, this should-be nightmare does little to separate itself from the pack besides decapitating some larger-than-life stuffed animals so that the film’s villains can wear unique masks. All the major influences can be felt, from The Strangers to You’re Next, but writers Thomas Pound and Michael Foster fail to strike their own unique brand of Canadian terror. Maybe our neighbors to the North haven’t been overexposed to every genre trope in horror’s unwritten rulebook, but such normalcy doesn’t cut it around these parts without embellishments or aiding characteristics – especially when a script glosses over the most interesting dynamics available.

As far as modern day scream queens go, Ginger Snaps/Freddy vs. Jason star Katharine Isabelle is right up there at the top of the list, most recently making an impression on NBC's "Hannibal." Up next, she finds herself the victim of a horrifying home invasion in Torment, which has just been dated for Stateside release.

After playing at last October's Screamfest Horror Film Festival, Torment has been acquired by Phase 4 Films and will be given a VOD release on June 10th. Check out the creepy trailer below, which makes this one look like a home invasion flick worth being excited about!

The home invasion thriller Torment is making its way to VOD on June 10th from Phase 4 Films. This is the film, starring Kathrine Isabelle, that I discussed a bit about last November on Killer Pov right here. Directed by Jordan Barker (The Marsh, My Brother’s Keeper), and co-starring Robin Dunne and Stephen McHattie, the film concerns newlyweds Cory and Sarah Morgan take Cory’s 7-year old son Liam up to the country to their remote cabin for a quiet getaway and some much needed family time.

I’ll admit I have a soft spot for the scarecrow film. Ever since I was terrified by a TV screening of Dark Night of the Scarecrow back in the 80s, I’ve seen just about every scarecrow-related film going – even those that should probably have never seen the light of day! So of course I Had to see Scarecrow. Even moreso given that it’s (yet another) Canadian genre film and it stars Robin Dunne, an actor whose career I’ve followed ever since I saw him in Cruel Intentions 2 (yes, I liked that film – even more than the original).

There’s always one film at any Frightfest that feels as formulaic and cliched as your typical Hollywood horror. In the case of this years Glasgow Frightfest it was Torment. A home invasion horror that sees newlyweds Cory and Sarah Morgan head to the country for some much-needed family time where they hope Liam, Cory’s struggling 7-year-old son from his previous marriage, will learn to accept his stepmother. But arriving at their home they discover someone has been living there while they were away. After speaking with the Sheriff they assume the intruders have moved on, however when Liam disappears they discover just how wrong they were. As a huge fan of the home invasion sub-genre, I always welcome new additions with open arms. Especially when they feature killers with Mickey Mouse ears. Read on for details about Torment!

Variety reports that Vertical Entertainment has inked a deal for the U.S. rights to the holiday home invasion film, which screens this week at Berlin's Entertainment Film Market.

Directed by Jordan Baker, the flick stars Robin Dunne (“Sanctuary”), Katharine Isabelle (American Mary, Ginger Snaps) and Peter DaCunha (Haunter) as the members of an ill-fated family who fall prey to a cult of sadistic madmen at their isolated country house.

With a title like Torment, you're probably expecting some hyper-brutal, bad-ass combination of Saw, Hostel, and that one awesome French slasher flick you can't pronounce... but nope! Aside from a few cool moments of blood-soaked lunacy at the beginning and the end, director Jordan Barker is more interested in some psychological torment. Just a simple "home invasion" story with some pretty cool slasher flick DNA, Torment might be better off called Suspense.   But that's not a title that would entice many horror freaks. Torment it is.   Plot-wise, we've got several threads you probably now by now:   A) A prologue in which a family is hacked up by a lunatic.   B) A young family arrives at their old home to help get over a recent tragedy.   C) After a small amount of legitimately decent character development, point A meets point B in a very unpleasant fashion.   But what Torment lacks in...
