Jesse Eisenberg has quietly amassed one of the most impressive filmographies of any artist working today, as he has shown a great deal of interest in all aspects of storytelling. While Eisenberg’s career began with small roles in films by noted directors like M. Night Shyamalan and Michael Hoffman, he quickly created an awkward, paranoid personality that made him an unorthodox leading man. While Eisenberg perfected this persona over the course of his subsequent film roles, he would frequently show an ability to subvert it by taking on more subversive parts. Eisenberg has written short fiction, worked in theater, delivered an amazing performance on the FX miniseries “Fleishman Is Is Trouble,” and has become an exciting writer/director who is certain to have many more great films.

It’s going to be Payback. No, no, I’m kidding.” But on a serious note, he confirmed, “They’re still working on the script. They’re still working on the story. They’re wanting to get it right.”

Actress and rock 'n' roller Taylor Momsen made her screen debut at the age of three, appearing in a 1997 Shake 'n Bake commercial. In the ad, she noted that Shake 'n Bake dinners were an excellent sign of her mother's love, and she demonstrated the product with aplomb. It's Shake 'n Bake, and she helped. Momsen was also, at the time, working as a child model, something she recalls hating. In a 2011 interview with Bethesda, Momsen said that she recalls being busy a lot as a toddler and that she wasn't given a lot of time to spend with friends. Her whole life, she said, she was in and out of school.
That same year, while she was still in preschool, Momsen started appearing on a few TV shows, notably the 1997 "The Cosby Show" spinoff "Cosby," and in a 1998 episode of "Early Edition." Momsen's first feature film was director David Worth...

Writing TV is a collaborative process, which often means that seeing a writer's credit on top of a TV episode isn't as strong an indicator of their writing style as you'd think. They may have written most of the script, sure, but a lot of what happens is often decided by the showrunner and the other staff writers. Throw in the general chaos that comes with trying to make a career in Hollywood, and the result is you sometimes get writers who veer off in a surprisingly different direction after a major project is finished.
For example: Alec Berg, David Mandel, and Jeff Schaffer were all writers for the hit sitcom "Seinfeld," which went on for nine seasons and became one of the most critically acclaimed and popular shows of all time. When the series wrapped up in 1998, did these writers continue writing for Emmy-nominated, boundary-pushing sitcoms? Well, sort of,...

Known for her impeccable attention to detail both on and off the screen, Dakota Fanning once admitted, “I like everything perfect. Everything has to be neat… My shoes are all arranged. It’s sad. I’m a little like Ray, a little bit” (Los Angeles Times). This meticulous nature extends to her effortlessly polished style, whether she’s on the red carpet or running errands.
At 5’4″ (162.6 cm)—or 5’5″ (165.1 cm), depending on the interview—Dakota Fanning knows how to use heels to elongate her frame, favoring timeless designs from luxury brands like Christian Louboutin and Jimmy Choo.

Horror movies may not often get a whole lot of respect, critically speaking. For whatever reason, they are often treated as a lesser form of entertainment. It's only the rarest of rare genre offerings that can go on to become embraced both critically and commercially, with Jordan Peele's "Get Out" serving as a shining example from relatively recent times. That's an outlier though. One undeniable truth though is that these movies are a reliable backbone for Hollywood studios, delivering consistent profits against relatively low investments. Good movies, bad movies, it often doesn't matter.
Hardcore horror fans will tell you that the number of bad movies far outweighs the good in any given year. It's about searching for that diamond in the rough.

M. Night Shyamalan is already hard at work on his next film after the success of the Josh Hartnett-led Trap from last year, which grossed over $82 million at the box office last year. Next, Shyamalan will switch gears toward the romance genre with assistance from best-selling author Nicholas Sparks, yes that Nicholas Sparks, who wrote The Notebook and countless other romance tales.
According to a Deadline exclusive, Shyamalan and Sparks are co-writing a screenplay and a novel together about the same original story featuring the same characters and concept. It is being described as a "supernatural romantic thriller." Little else is known about the actual plot details but the outlet also shares that Jake Gyllenhaal will star in the film.
While Shyamalan is no stranger to supernatural thrillers, he hasn't dabbled much in the romance genre, and Sparks isn't known for writing thrillers, so it is an interesting collaboration,...

A UK stage version of Neil Gaiman’s Coraline has been canceled following allegations of sexual misconduct against the Good Omens author.
The musical production was preparing to embark on a UK tour that would take in the Leeds Playhouse, Royal Lyceum Theatre Edinburgh, Birmingham Rep, and Home in Manchester.
In a statement, organizers said they would not continue with the adaptation, citing the claims against Gaiman from a total of nine women. Gaiman has denied sexual misconduct.
“We have decided our production of Coraline – A Musical will not proceed. After careful consideration, we feel it would be impossible to continue in the context of the allegations against its original author. Ticket holders have been contacted directly via email,” the statement said.
The allegations against Gaiman include nonconsensual Bdsm. The claims were first published in a Tortoise podcast, titled Master: The Allegations Against Neil Gaiman. New York magazine carried further allegations earlier this month.

Twilight star Robert Pattinson has a response for anyone who still wants to tell him that the franchise “ruined the vampire genre.”
In an interview with GQ Spain, the soon-to-be Mickey-17 star shared how he deals with this opinion almost two decades after the first film arrived.
“I love that people keep telling me, ‘Man, ‘Twilight’ ruined the vampire genre,’” Pattinson said in the interview, translated by Variety. “Are you still stuck on that shit? How can you be sad about something that happened almost 20 years ago? It’s crazy.”
Pattinson’s career took off after he portrayed Edward Cullen in the five films based on Stephanie Meyer’s books, starring alongside Kristen Stewart’s love interest and main character Bella Swan. The first film of the franchise arrived in 2008.

Mothers come in many shapes and sizes. Some are fantastic cooks. Others are wonderful gardeners. Many may not keep a tidy house, but they’re great listeners and skilled at helping their children work through complex problems. But there’s one thing all mothers have in common. At some point, they will all do something to disappoint or upset their children. Because mothers are human beings too. They may be tasked with caring for the younger generation but they’re still fallible creatures figuring it out as they go. Henry Selick explores the concept of good and bad parents in his stunning stop motion masterpiece Coraline. This 2009 film follows two mothers battling for the love of a young girl who must decide whether she can live a life that’s less than perfect.

In 2024, Ishana Night Shyamalan released her directorial debut, The Watchers, which is now streaming on Netflix alongside some other incredible and similar horror entries. Notably, Shyamalan is the daughter of the famed director, M. Night Shyamalan, who helmed iconic films such as The Sixth Sense and Split. The Watchers is a supernatural horror film centered on Mina, a young artist who finds herself trapped in a strange bunker in the forest, constantly threatened by violent creatures known as Watchers.
Although The Watchers did not earn the greatest critical reviews, receiving a 32% on Rotten Tomatoes, it is a movie that still has plenty to offer. Also nominated for Best Film, A Complete Unknown is based on Elijah Wald’s 2015 book Dylan Goes Electric. For whatever reason, Hollywood doesn't produce movies like "Legally Blonde" anymore. Brightly colored, fun, and undeniably optimistic, this Reese Witherspoon comedy succinctly captures the zeitgeist of the early 2000s, and it now serves as a time capsule to a more innocent time when it felt possible for a fashion merchandising student to usurp the Harvard snobs and become a full-fledged lawyer. Truly, director Robert Luketic's upbeat tone, to say nothing of Karen McCullah Lutz and Kirsten Smith's snappy script, is a key reason for the film's enduring success -- it's the perfect underdog tale, featuring a likable character worth rooting for and an uplifting message about staying true to yourself and persevering in the face of adversity.
"Legally Blonde" earned solid reviews from critics, earned a pair of Golden Globe nominations, including one for Witherspoon, made a killing at the box office, led to two sequels (and counting), and even spawned a musical.

Netflix continues to dominate the streaming sphere, and frankly it's not hard to see why. The streamer pumps out so much so-called "content" that I'm starting to wonder whether half of this stuff isn't already being generated by some god awful AI. Still, amid the onslaught of media, Netflix put out some pretty good films in 2024, most notably the killer action thriller "Rebel Ridge," which surely went a long way to helping star Aaron Pierre land the role of John Stewart in DC and James Gunn's burgeoning shared universe.
Netflix started 2025 strong, too, proving that streaming audiences still know a good film when they see one by delivering Christopher Nolan's "Interstellar" to its servers and seeing it shoot to the top of the charts. No doubt the rest of the year will see more of the same quality filmmaking punctuating a sea of otherwise forgettable streaming slush. But...

Animation has always been a medium for pushing creative boundaries. Often, it brings vibrant worlds and imaginative stories to life in ways live-action simply cannot. Breathtaking landscapes and intricate character designs are just some of the ways these illustrative productions captivate audiences, with a timeless appeal cementing many titles as contenders among the best animated movies of all time. Showcasing the incredible potential of animation as a visual and narrative art form, these films have often transcended their format, leaving audiences awestruck and inspired.
This focus on visual artistry has sparked countless bountiful subgenres, for example, animated fantasy movies. Heartfelt adventures and awe-inspiring fantasies have proved time after time that the medium's storytelling power is a bottomless pit of impactful entertainment. Some indie examples even rival the best Disney animated shows ever made, with their draw shown specifically through vivid visuals. The ability of animation to transport viewers to entirely...

With last night's Golden Globe win for Best Actor in an anthology, limited series, or TV movie for his lead performance as Oz Cobb in The Penguin, Colin Farrell joins the very small circle of just three actors who have been honoured at the awards ceremony for playing comic book villains - and their characters all happen to be Batman foes.
Farrell was asked about joining the late Heath Ledger and Joaquin Phoenix, who both previously won Golden Globes for their respective portrayals of the Joker in Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight and Todd Phillips' Joker.
“You mentioned two actors who are, I think, for my money, two of the most extraordinarily talented and gifted and just brilliant artists in films that I’ve ever had the fortune to observe and be affected by," the Irish actor tells Variety. Inside the Beverly Hilton at Sunday’s Golden Globes provided a dramatically different viewing experience from anything you saw on television. Gold Derby’s reporters were stationed throughout the room, the backstage area, and, yes, the bar to record all the key moments that weren’t broadcast by CBS’ camera crews.
Here’s the best of what we saw.
Serious security
In the wake of the New Orleans terrorist attack, the level of security at the Globes was unprecedented. The streets surrounding the Beverly Hilton were cleared of vehicles and there was a more pronounced police presence from years past. The shuttle ferrying production crew, publicists, and media from the off-site lot to the Hilton had to navigate a circuitous route through and around secruity, making the normally 2-minute trip into a 20-minute odyssey.

Dakota Fanning's horror movie The Watchers, currently trending on Netflix, serves as the perfect reminder to watch an animated horror classic from 2009. Directed by Ishana Night Shyamalan in her directorial debut, The Watchers stars Dakota Fanning as a young woman named Mina, who is visiting Ireland only to become stranded in a forest inhabited by mysterious creatures that appear at night. Seeking shelter, Mina finds herself trapped in a bunker with three strangers who have been imprisoned for several years and must do whatever she can to survive.
The movie was produced by M. Night Shyamalan, who has gained notoriety and criticism in the movie industry for his trademark of using twist endings in many of his works. His daughter, Ishana, continues the trademark in her first movie as a director. While it received a mixed reception upon release, The Watchers has seen streaming success on Netflix, ranking in the top 10 most-watched films.

Netflix's The Perfect Couple cast is jam-packed with A-list actors who help shape the Nantucket-based murder mystery. The miniseries is an onscreen adaptation of the eponymous book by New York Times bestselling author Elin Hilderbrand. The Perfect Couple centers on the wedding of Amelia Sachs and Benji Winbury at the Winbury estate in Nantucket. The night before the event, a murder occurs, raising suspicions about the entire Winbury family.
Murder mystery shows often focus on rich and privileged characters with morally questionable personalities. It is all the more riveting when these shows include an all-star cast. That is certainly the case with The Perfect Couple. Even the actors who don't have name recognition have dozens of credits under their belt, except for a few younger actors. The impressive cast in The Perfect Couple helps create a story filled with morally dubious characters pursuing their own self-interests at any cost.

Dakota Fanning has a small, but memorable, role in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, and the actress has spoken about her time on set and her relationship with Quentin Tarantino. Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is Quentin Tarantino's ninth feature film and fits in the same category as Inglourious Basterds and Django Unchained as a historical film, but with a twist. In this case, Tarantino gives a retelling of the Manson Family murders but indulges in some warranted historical rewriting that ends with Sharon Tate's murderers on the wrong end of a can of dog food.
Stylistically, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is more similarly aligned with Pulp Fiction, however. It's told linearly, but it's separated into unrelated scenes and moments that serve to round out the colorful world and characters Tarantino has created rather than drive the story forward. Not only does the streamer bring you shows and films from other studios, but Netflix brings us some of the best originals as well. The good part is we can watch it all from home.
All of that great programming means the streaming giant gets nominated for a lot of awards as well. Maybe the Golden Globes are not the Oscars or Emmys, but a win is a win. For those who haven't seen Dakota Fanning’s The Watchers, the horror movie is currently trending on Netflix, proving it’s a worthwhile watch. Ishana Night Shyamalan’s directorial debut follows a mysterious woman who, after becoming stranded in the Irish forest, joins an isolated group that is stalked by dangerous creatures. Though The Watchers’ reviews are incredibly mixed, they admit the movie’s strange allure and excellent adaptation of Irish folklore.
Following his father’s footsteps, Night Shyamalan presents a story featuring many twists, suspense, and a larger conspiracy that ties everything together. Despite The Watchers’ ending having a bit of an infamous reputation, it does successfully set up a sequel, which could be based on A. M. Shine’s second book. Notably, The Watchers’ cast is the thriller’s strongest aspect, with Fanning’s character, Mina, benefiting from the actress’ commanding and multilayered on-screen presence and her extensive experience in the genre.

Elle Fanning has an impressive career that has lasted decades across movies and TV. The actress made her acting debut in 2001's I Am Sam alongside sister Dakota Fanning, with her early career seeing her star in Daddy Day Care, Charlotte's Web, The Curious Cae of Benjamin Button, and My Neighbour Totoro. Fanning would receive widespread recognition for her later roles in Super 8, Ginger & Rosa, and Maleficent.
After receiving critical praise for her roles, Fanning would see herself take on a wide selection of genres, from portraying the titular sci-fi pioneer in Mary Shelley, traumatized teen Violet in All the Bright Places, and most recently Sylvia Russo in James Mangold's Bob Dylan biopic A Complete Unknown. Fanning's current next projects will see her come face-to-face with a deadly hunter in the upcoming Predator: Badlands and provide her voice talents and likeness of Hideo Kojima's upcoming action-adventure...

Dakota Fanning (The Watchers) and The Strangers director Bryan Bertino are teaming up for a horror movie called Vicious, which is coming our way from Paramount Pictures… but we don’t know when Paramount is going to decide to show it to us. Originally set to receive a theatrical release from Paramount in August of 2025, Vicious was pushed up to February 28th – but now, Deadline reports that the film has been pulled off of Paramount’s release schedule completely. They say, “The studio is looking to find a better date for the film.”
Scripted by Bertino, Vicious sees Fanning taking on the role of a young woman who is left a strange present by a late-night visitor, and quickly realizes she is fighting for her life after slipping down a disturbing rabbit hole contained inside the gift.
Fanning is joined in the cast by Devyn Nekoda (Scream VI), Mary McCormack...

Was Jennifer Lawrence almost cast jn The Hateful Eight? (Photo Credit – Facebook)
Tarantino actually wanted Lawrence to play Daisy Domergue, the ruthless, sharp-tongued outlaw at the heart of his gritty western flick. But alas, scheduling demons struck hard.
Tarantino, a self-proclaimed huge Jennifer Lawrence fan, wasn’t just casually thinking about it. He told Entertainment Weekly, “I’m a huge Jennifer Lawrence fan. I think I’ve been on record of saying that her and David O. Russell’s relationship is very William Wyler-Bette Davis-like, and that’s a good thing to be like. And I can see her doing a good job with this role, so we went to talk about it and everything.” That’s some serious admiration right there. But reality? Reality laughed in Tarantino’s face.
Lawrence was swamped with Joy, The Hunger Games press marathon, and just about every blockbuster-related obligation under the sun.

Dakota Fanning (Watchers) is next teaming up with director Bryan Bertino for the horror movie Vicious, but Paramount has shifted its release date yet again, per Deadline.
Vicious was initially slated for August 8, 2025 before getting moved up to February 28, 2025. Now, Bertino’s film is currently undated as the studio is looking to find a better date for the film.
Not much is known about Vicious just yet, but the plot follows “a young woman who must spend the night fighting for her existence as she slips down a disturbing rabbit hold contained inside a mysterious gift from a late-night visitor.”
Kathryn Hunter, Mary McCormack, Rachel Blanchard, and Devyn Nekoda also star.
Bryan Bertino wrote the script and will be directing the film, an Atlas Independent production. Melinda Whitaker serves as executive producer, with Richard Suckle also producing.
Here’s to hoping Vicious finds a secure 2025 date soon, because Bertino’s most recent film,...

Paramount is moving up The Running Man out of the Nov. 21, 2025 corridor which is where it was up against Wicked: For Good, to Nov. 7, 2025.
Paramount will also have access to Imax screens which is a big plus.
This leaves a spot open for a male-skewing film.
They also set a release date for the Dave Franco and McKenna Grace movie Regretting You for Oct. 24, 2025. What’s the big deal here? It’s a Colleen Hoover feature adaptation, people.
In addition, Paramount has a hold on Jan. 15, 2027 for an untitled tentpole in Imax.
The studio is also pulling Vicious off the calendar, its previous date being Feb. 28, 2025. That’s the Bryan Bertino directed and written horror film starring Dakota Fanning. The studio is looking to find a better date for the film.
This weekend, Paramount has another No. 1 opening title in Sonic The Hedgehog 3 which is looking at a franchise...

When actors Ethan Herisse and Brandon Wilson were getting ready to film “Nickel Boys,” they had no hesitation getting onboard with director RaMell Ross’s vision of telling the story through their characters’ literal point of view, the only slight concern in the back of their minds was “I hope my friends and family don’t hear this and are like, ‘Oh, wait, so you’re not in the movie?’,” said Herisse over breakfast in the corner of a restaurant within a West Hollywood hotel.
Wilson’s mother’s reaction was more explicitly concerned, with the actor having done a found footage film not too long before “Nickel Boys” where “I was very much the cameraman for a lot of it,” he said. His response to his mom: “I’m not sure, but it’s probably going to be good, though.”
Needless to say, the Orion Pictures release, now in select theaters nationwide,...
