Born and raised in New York, Steven Feder began his career performing stand-up in numerous comedy clubs while studying acting under Bill Esper at the prestigious William Esper Studio. As a member of The Creative Actors Repertory Theater, he performed, directed, and produced Savage In Limbo, Sexual Perversity in Chicago, Danny And The Deep Blue Sea, and Speed The Plow. He transitioned from theater to film by producing and co-writing The Big Gig. The film won three International Grand Prize Awards, including the coveted Audience Award at The Hamptons International Film Festival. Next, Steven wrote, produced, directed, and starred in the Dramatic Feature Jury Prize-winning film The Cottonwood, starring Pruitt Taylor Vince, Gia Carides, Stacy Edwards, Cynthia Nixon, Michael Wright, Tony Sirico, and Missi Pyle, featured on Showtime's Best of Independent Film Directors Cut Series. Next, he wrote, directed, and produced the romantic comedy It Had To Be You, starring Natasha Henstridge, Michael Vartan, Michael Rispoli, and Olivia d'Abo.

Steven has collaborated with Academy Award winners Barry Levinson and Al Pacino on his scripted crime thriller Charlie Irish for Warner Bros, and Golden Globe winners James Gandolfini and Alec Baldwin on his scripted comedy/drama With A Bullet based on the music industry in 1977 for Fox. He recently adapted Jack London's The Game as a four-part series for producers Gunther Fishgold and Jamie Kellum. Steven just completed filming A Brooklyn Love Story, which he wrote and directed for producers Jeff Mazzola, John Scaccia, and Morris Levy. Filmed on location in Brooklyn, the film stars Katie McCarty, Michael Morano, Vincent Pastore, Michael Rispoli, Dan Grimaldi, Joseph D'Onofrio, and Christopher Ryan. Next up, he's looking to direct his scripted crime thriller Under The Influence.

For more than two decades Steven has worked as a director, screenwriter, script doctor, ghostwriter and author. He has written on dozens of films, directed music videos and produced documentaries including The Promoter, which he produced with Peter Berg for HBO on the life of legendary boxing promoter Bob Arum.

Steven's many interest includes a seventeen year association in the world of professional boxing. He has managed three world champions, and traveled the world with close friend Hall of Fame, seven time trainer of the year Freddie Roach. Steven appeared as himself in the Peter Berg directed HBO doc-series On Freddie Roach. Steven is the father of two beautiful daughters and lives in Los Angeles.

Often uses the name &quot;Charlie&quot; for his lead male character. It&#39;s his
real middle name. Says that it makes it easier to identify with the
character&#39;s experience as he writes him. Also uses the name &quot;Penn&quot; as
the last name of one of the characters. His uncle was an artist and use
to sign his paintings PENN, the German meaning of Feder. A feather
&quot;penn.&quot;

During the 2007 WGA strike he got involved with managing one boxer just to keep busy while waiting for the strike to settle. The hobby turned into a second career. He manages a number of World Champions at world famous Freddie Roach&#39;s Wild Card boxing in Hollywood. Has personally worked the corner in more then 150 fights including Madison Square Garden, Cowboy Stadium, MGM Grand, and The Mandalay Bay in Vegas. He considers Roach one of his closest friends and the Wild Card his second home. Though his focus is still as a writer/producer his projects often reflect the world of boxing. A TV series based on his life and experiences in the sport is in the works.

Steven was an &quot;all city&quot; high school basketball player. Steven won the NQPSAL MVP award. He played college basketball and a year of semi-pro. He is an &quot;everything New York&quot; sports fan. Born and raised in New York, Steven now resides in Southern California.
