- Often uses the name "Charlie" for his lead male character. It's his real middle name. Says that it makes it easier to identify with the character's experience as he writes him. Also uses the name "Penn" as the last name of one of the characters. His uncle was an artist and use to sign his paintings PENN, the German meaning of Feder. A feather "penn."
- During the 2007 WGA strike he got involved with managing one boxer just to keep busy while waiting for the strike to settle. The hobby turned into a second career. He manages a number of World Champions at world famous Freddie Roach's Wild Card boxing in Hollywood. Has personally worked the corner in more then 150 fights including Madison Square Garden, Cowboy Stadium, MGM Grand, and The Mandalay Bay in Vegas. He considers Roach one of his closest friends and the Wild Card his second home. Though his focus is still as a writer/producer his projects often reflect the world of boxing. A TV series based on his life and experiences in the sport is in the works.
- Steven was an "all city" high school basketball player. Steven won the NQPSAL MVP award. He played college basketball and a year of semi-pro. He is an "everything New York" sports fan. Born and raised in New York, Steven now resides in Southern California.
