According to Puck News (and confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter), a sequel to 2006's "The Devil Wears Prada" is currently in development. Aline Brosh McKenna, screenwriter of the original film, will reportedly pen this follow-up, which is being spearheaded by original "The Devil Wears Prada" producer Wendy Finerman. Deadline reports that the original film's director, David Frankel, is also in talks to return.

Reports at this time indicate that the original film's main cast have not locked deals to return yet. However, reported story details indicate the script is being written with the intent of at least Streep and Blunt returning (more on that soon). Streep is the reason the original film came together, so (pure speculation here), without her there's probably no movie this time around.

And Just Like That… fans have finally gotten the update they needed to breathe easier. After an extremely long hiatus, the cast has an official filming date. Entertainment Tonight caught up with several of the reboot’s stars at the Michael Kors Fall/Winter Fashion Show earlier this month and learned exactly when the cast will return to the set.

Every Sex and the City fan will instantly recognize two high-wattage looks up for sale in the latest event presented by Julien’s Auctions — one piece worn onscreen by series star and executive producer Sarah Jessica Parker — as they’ve transcended the function of costumes or fashion to become part of the show’s enduring iconography.

“Unstoppable: Signature Styles of Iconic Women in Fashion” is indeed an apt title for an upcoming auction that includes the three-tiered belted tutu skirt worn by Parker in Satc‘s opening credits (and again in the 2008 movie). The skirt was famously purchased by the show’s costume designer, Patricia Field, who discovered the piece in a $5 bargain bin and fashioned it into one of the most-recognized looks in the series.

For six seasons, "Sex and the City" let women in their 30s be messy, vulgar, and oh-so-very sexy. I was "the Miranda" in my own friend group, and "Sex and the City" was a sleepover staple...

“The Mary Tyler Moore Show” gave way to “Rhoda”; “Cheers” eventually brought us “Frasier.” Could the legacy of “And Just Like That” be the London-set dramedy “Samantha”?

Yes, it’s unlikely; a potential spinoff based on the ongoing adventures of Kim Cattrall’s character from “And Just Like That” and “Sex and the City” necessitates the participation of, well, Cattrall, who’s been very clear that her cameo on the “Ajlt” finale was a once-ever thing. But that cameo, too, once seemed unlikely-to-impossible, given the haze of bad feeling between Cattrall and her former castmates. And on “Samantha,” just like Frasier in Seattle, she’d get to make a whole new set of friends!

I’m being facetious, but only a little. I agree with my colleague Alison Herman that Samantha’s cameo was electric, and I’d go further: It provided a much-needed jolt for an episode of television that at times felt lugubrious.

Samantha’s return happens at the beginning of Season 2’s “The Last Supper Part Two: Entree.” As Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) prepares her apartment for her big dinner party, she gets a call from one of her oldest friends. That’s when the London-based Samantha reveals she planned to surprise Carrie at her dinner party but due to a three-hour flight delay, she won’t be able to make the event.

Though the scene only lasts a couple minutes, Samantha drops the word “fabulous” repeatedly and is shown in a stunning number from costume designer Patricia Field. “And Just Like That” viewers were quick to sing her parises.

And just like that, Samantha Jones (Kim Cattrall) has returned to our TV screens. After being notably absent from the first season of "Sex and the City" revival series "And Just Like That" on Max, Cattrall returned for a brief cameo in the season two finale. Variety broke the news of her cameo on May 31, and Cattrall herself confirmed it was happening the next day. "Happy Pride," she captioned a screenshot of the article on Instagram, adding rainbow and Pride flag emoji.

Max officially renewed And Just Like That… ahead of its much-anticipated season two finale which will feature the return of Kim Cattrall as Samantha. Season two episode 11 – part two of “The Last Supper” – finally delivers the cameo fans of the original foursome have eagerly anticipated.

Even though Samatha won’t be sharing scenes with her former Sex and the City co-stars, Cattrall will be seen in a cameo, styled by Patricia Field and shot in secret. In an interview on Today with Hoda and Jenna, Kim Cattrall confirmed that shopping in Bergdorf’s and picking out a great outfit for her cameo felt like dipping her toe back in time and having a wonderful afternoon.

However, fans shouldn’t expect Kim Cattrall back for the just-announced third season. It seems this short cameo is a one-off and not a precursor to an extended return as Samantha.

During an appearance on The View, where she was ostensibly promoting her new Netflix series Glamorous, Cattrall dished about the call that she received from HBO about appearing on And Just Like That and the things that she needed, including the involvement of famed costume designer Patricia Field, to get to “yes.”

As The Hollywood Reporter previously reported, Cattrall’s cameo as Samantha Jones in the second season finale came about after she was approached by HBO chairman and CEO Casey Bloys, who also approached showrunner Michael Patrick King about the prospect of having the character return.
