British writer and painter Hugh Fleetwood was born 1944 and won the John Llewellyn Rhys Prize for his second novel The Girl Who Passed for Normal in 1974. He helped to adapt his 1977 novel The Order of Death for the 1983 film Copkiller [Corrupt] [Order of Death], starring Harvey Keitel and John Lydon. He has published 22 books.
