A legal brawl has broken out between mogul Alexander Shustorovich and Img Talent, whose affiliate WME faces the prospect of losing a portion of its music roster as part of a forced sale of the premier classical music management firm Img Artists.

A company owned by the Russia-born U.S. citizen has filed a lawsuit looking to enforce an arbitration ruling that holds that Img Talent must sell its stake in Img Artists to Shustorovich. The deal includes a noncompete that would allegedly bar Endeavor-owned WME from business related to classical, jazz or world music and festivals for three years. Img Talent, also owned by Endeavor, has refused to sign the 2021 purchase agreement.

In arbitration decided last year, it was found that the noncompete is “unquestionably a term or condition” of the deal and “must be complied with” by Img Talent and its affiliates.

The Kennedy Center has found the honorees for the 47th installment of The Kennedy Center Honors.

Director Francis Ford Coppola; rock band The Grateful Dead; singer-songwriter Bonnie Raitt; and jazz composer, trumpeter and pianist Arturo Sandoval will be feted at this year’s event, with The Apollo Theater in Harlem set to receive special honors “as an iconic American institution.”

The President of the United States typically serves as the host of the event at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. — a tradition that President Biden has upheld while in office. Last year’s honorees for the 46th installment of the event included Billy Crystal, Queen Latifah, Dionne Warwick, Barry Gibb and Renée Fleming. Los Angeles, Jan 6 (Ians) Grammy winner Michael Bolton has revealed that he has been diagnosed with brain tumour and will be taking a temporary break from performing.

The 70-year-old singer took to Facebook to make the announcement about his health, reports deadline.com.

“Just before the holidays, it was discovered that I had a brain tumor, which required immediate surgery. Thanks to my incredible medical team, the surgery was a success,” Bolton wrote.

“I am now recuperating at home and surrounded by the tremendous love and support of my family.”

He told fans he will be taking the “next couple of months” to his recovery and taking a “temporary break” from touring.

The program, in its 46th year, followed the traditional format that showcases tributes to each honoree by artists and celebs whose identities are undisclosed in advance. It kicked off with a lively parade of dancers down the aisles, led by emcee and former honoree Gloria Estefan and accompanied by Sheila E on drums — a first for the event. Produced again by Done and Dusted Inc., it will air Dec. 27 on CBS.

Omitted this year was one familiar staple at the event – the inclusion of brief video biographies of each honoree that emphasized their childhoods and routes to success. Instead, minimal use of videos embellished career highlights.

We’ve had some bad weekends at the box office this year, but few worse than a weekend when the only new movie opens in fourth place and the #1 movie from a previous weekend loses so much business it drops all the way down to third. Read on for the weekend box office report.

That new movie was the R-Rated comedy “No Hard Feelings,” starring Jennifer Lawrence, and we’ll get to that in a bit, but first, we have to look at the movie that topped the box office. That was “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse,” which made $19.3 million this weekend, down just 29% from last weekend, returning it to first place after weeks in second and third place. After crossing the $300 million mark on Friday, the animated sequel has grossed $317 million domestically. Overseas, “Spider-Verse” added another $22 million this weekend, bringing its global total to $560.3 million.

The Price Is Right is saying goodbye to its longtime home in a special season finale, airing Monday, June 26 on CBS.

After 51 years of taping at Television City’s historic Bob Barker Studio 33 in Hollywood, the classic game show will make the move to Haven Studios in Glendale, Calif., for Season 52, premiering this September. (Get more info on the change of location here.)

Billy Crystal, Queen Latifah and Dionne Warwick are among the star set to be honored at this year’s Kennedy Center Honors.

Bee Gees legend Barry Gibb and opera star Renée Fleming will also be recognized at the 46th annual event, set for December at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C.

The annual gala, to be hosted by Gloria Estefan, honors recipients by recognizing their lifetime artistic achievements. The ceremony will be held Dec. 3 and will air on CBS and stream on Paramount+ as artists to be celebrated typically sit in the President’s Box, alongside the current commander-in-chief.

“I’m humbled to be included in this incredible list of artists honored by the Kennedy Center,” Latifah said in a statement. “When we started on this journey decades ago, we were often told, ‘No’. No, you won’t be able to leave New Jersey.

The 46th Kennedy Honors will celebrate an immensely varied and talented crew of artists. Among them are comedian/actor Billy Crystal, rapper/actor Queen Latifah, Bee Gees’ leader Barry Gibb, soprano Renée Fleming and singer Dionne Warwick.

With this honor, Crystal joins a small group of comedians who have been recognized with both a Kennedy Center honor and the Mark Twain Prize for lifetime achievement, which includes David Letterman, Steve Martin, Lorne Michaels, Lily Tomlin, Carol Burnett and Neil Simon.

Four of the five honorees hail from the world of music, although Queen Latifah has shifted her focus toward acting in recent years. The ratio is not an uncommon one for the Kennedy Center Honors: Last year’s ceremony honored U2, Amy Grant, Tania León and Gladys Knight, leaving George Clooney the odd acting man out.
