Film producer and talent manager Nathan Folks has worked in the
entertainment industry since 1997. He started at Paramount Pictures
marketing the very successful film Titanic starring Leonardo DiCaprio.
Folks marketed the east coast division for Paramount and later working
under the head of casting at Paramount Pictures, longtime casting
executive Gail Levin at the Paramount Studio lot in Hollywood. Folks
became friends with Sherry Lansing, they
first met at the Golden Globes in 1999. She became his mentor along
with longtime friend and mentor Richard Naegele. After leaving
Paramount, Folks continued his relationship with Lansing and began
working with Richard Naegele and his companies RJN Productions and
Usonia Pictures. Folks lived in the famous Dutch castle where famed
Stevie Nicks with Fleetwood Mac wrote and performed albums in the
formal Dining room. Famous musicians lived in the Dutch castle such as
Sean Puffy Combs and Jennifer Lopez. Nathan met a talented Canadian, at
that time a singer in Vegas named Michael Buble and asked him to live
in the house while he practiced songwriting and singing for his very
first album with music producer David Foster. At the time Folks was
working on making independent feature films for RJN Productions and at
the same time managing writers, musicians, and actors. He helped
several very big musicians in his early days in Hollywood including
Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter
John Mayer and his co-writer
musician band partner Clay Cook an old high school friend of Folks.
They started a band called Lo-Fi Masters a very successful band in the
local Atlanta music scene. Folks later promoting both
John Mayer and
Clay Cook with their first demo CD in Los
Angeles. Later John Mayer moved
on to produce music with Music, Sony. Clay
Cook continued touring in several other bands around the country.
Nathan then went on to work with famed drummer for "The Doors"
John Densmore.
Nathan Folks worked with him and
Leslie Neale on several documentary films
in 2002. Nathan produced his first feature film
Last Goodbye (2004) in Atlanta. As
the producer, he attached Oscar-winning stars such as
David Carradine and
Faye Dunaway for Warner Brothers. Nathan
worked with Amy Smart on an independent film
and later a "Green Means Go" campaign in 2008. Later, Nathan opens a
film production company _Usonian Entertainment [us]_ and executive
produced many independent films for the festival circuits working with
the Sundance Film Festival and
Vasco Nunes and
Robert Redford. Later
Nathan Folks went on to develop the biggest
charity event in the Cannes Film Festival. Producing one of the biggest
events in France in 2008, with his partners The Partouche Group, a
french casino raising millions of dollars for charity with Oscar
winning stars Edward Norton,
Salma Hayek,
Tim Robbins,
Dennis Hopper,
Woody Harrelson,
Adrien Brody and
Goldie Hawn It was the first annual Charity
Poker Festival that was televised in Europe and later released in the
United States. Nathan Folks continued the
festival for a second year with The Maybach Foundation and
Mercedes-Benz. Nathan Folks executive
produced the film Without Men (2011),
starring Eva Longoria and
Christian Slater. Nathan Folks
continues to manage young stars and helping them begin their Hollywood
careers such as Chris Zylka in The Amazing
Spiderman and Twist (2014) aka
Twisted (2013). Other actors include
Wyatt J. Scott,
Kansas Carradine,
Dominique Garcia,
Clementine Ford among other young talent
as well as produced major celebrity endorsement campaigns for specific
brands around the world with celebrity talent such as
Lindsay Lohan in the 2012 with
Philipp Plein and a fashion style mansion
with Britney Spears.
Nathan Folks partners with
Lee Caplin in 2014 to create film, television,
music projects and to continue using entertainment as a basis for raising money for charities. Philanthropy
and charitable donations are a large part of the new partnership and
collaboration among his partners and celebrity relationships. In 2015, Folks began a new start-up company called StoneMade, a research and development company that created a new sustainable plastic material made from Limestone and other natural elements making the future generation of low cost biodegradable, compostable, recyclable plastic, that is superior to traditional polycarbonate plastic. With his many long-standing celebrity relationships and marketing background at Paramount he will be launching his latest green technology with the new company StoneMade in the coming year. Folks believes this new form of limestone plastic will solve many problems in the world due to our dependence on foreign oil and replacing Plastic is a start. In 2016, Nathan Folks started his parent company FolksCorp which will house all of his corporations, his entertainment company Rapid Deployment Films/TV, StoneMade, LLC and his new electric car company FolksEV corporation.
