Family sent her to modeling school in Texas to overcome shyness. She later worked as a Maybelline model.

As of March 2011, she owned her own Pilates studio in West Hollywood, CA, which she started one year previously.

She works as a graphic artist and also sells her own hand-painted furniture.

She designs jewelry at her store in Big Bear Lake, CA.

Her maternal grandfather was of Finnish and Swedish ancestry.
