- On November, 2015, the diary was subject of controversy after The Anne Frank Foundation, owner of The Diary of Anne Frank's copyrights, claiming that it had been written by Anne and her father Otto Frank as co-author. The Foundation was accused for trying to retain the rights of the diary, which it would expired in 2016 in the 70th anniversary of Anna's death. Otto died in 1980, which it would suppose that the Foundation would retain the copyright until 2050.
