Hugh French was born on 30 January 1910 in London, England, UK. He was an actor and producer, known for A Woman's Vengeance (1948), Fancy Pants (1950) and Under Milk Wood (1971). He was married to France De Brignac and Eve Lister. He died on 2 November 1976 in Los Angeles, California, USA.

He gave up acting in the 1950s and instead became a top agent, numbering Richard Burton and other big stars amongst his clients.

Father of <a class="ipc-md-link ipc-md-link--entity" href="/name/nm0294192/?ref_=nmtrv_trv">Robin French</a> with <a class="ipc-md-link ipc-md-link--entity" href="/name/nm0514249/?ref_=nmtrv_trv">Eve Lister</a>.
