The Lowdown, from creator, executive producer, writer and director Sterlin Harjo (Reservation Dogs), will open the Toronto International Film Festival’s Primetime series showcase, the lineup for which was announced Thursday.

The show stars Ethan Hawke, who also executive produces, as a citizen journalist whose pursuit of the truth regularly gets him into trouble. The show launches on FX on September 23.

It is among six shows set to premiere in the sidebar alongside Netflix’s original Canadian series Wayward, created by Mae Martin, who is also co-showrunner with Ryan Scott and co-stars with Sarah Gadon and Toni Collette, as well as Zach Baylin and Kate Susman’s Black Rabbit starring Jude Law and Jason Bateman, who also directs some of the episodes.

As seen in the recently released teaser trailer for the upcoming Netflix miniseries, Wayward. Throughout the trailer, viewers can catch glimpses of unsettling events taking place within the seemingly idyllic town of Tall Pines, Vermont, as well as references to key locations such as the Tall Pines Academy, which is billed as a "Therapeutic Boarding School." The script for this mysterious project has been penned by Seth Reiss, the writer of 2022’s The Menu, itself a delicious 2022 satirical drama.

Michael, 47, and Keira, 39, along with her husband James Righton, were seen cheering and celebrating loudly as they watched the intense match.

Directed by Ty Roberts (12 Mighty Orphans) from a script by Lane Garrison, the sports drama follows the true story of a Little League team of misfits who dedicate their season to a teammate’s ailing father. Against all odds, they make it to the World Series finals in a game that became an ESPN classic.

The film was produced by Matt Harvey, Houston Hill, and Roberts’ Santa Rita Film Co, and released on 730 screens on August 30 by Well Go USA.

Based on Kings epic 2011 novel, the series centers around the recently divorced Jake Epping, who is presented with a portal to 1960 in an old diner and tasked with going back in time to stop the assassination of President Kennedy.
