- Nunzio Gallo was born on March 26, 1928 in Naples, Campania, Italy. - In September 2007, he suffered a brain hemorrhage from which he never fully recovered.
- He was an singer who represented Italy in the second Eurovision Song Contest held in 1957 in Frankfurt, West Germany. He sang the longest song ever performed in that competition, "Corde della mia chitarra" (Strings of My Guitar), over 5 minutes long. This led the contest organizers to set a 3-minute time limit for future performances. Gallo placed sixth in the competition.
