Hristo Garbov

Hristo Viktorov Garbov is Bulgarian theater and cinema actor. He was born on September 23, 1957 in Varna, Bulgaria. One year he has taught the specialty "Technology of metals and machine tools" at the Technical University - Varna. Then he studied and graduated in "acting" at the National Academy for Theatre and Film Art, Sofia, Bulgaria in the class of Professor Elka Mihaylova (1979-83). He has worked in Drama Theater "Ivan Dimov" (1983-1985) and Lovech Drama Theatre (1985-1987). After a competition he was assigned to the troupe of Satirical Theater "Aleko Konstantinov" in Sofia (1987). He moved to Sofia in 1987. He is married to film director Iglika Trifonova. He is a member of Union of Bulgarian Filmmakers since 1994. He has played in famous Bulgarian feature films as "Arrhythmia", "Rhapsody in White," "Blueberry Hill," "Journey to Jerusalem." He has participated in the show "Street", directed by Tedi Moskov; in fun programs "Greater Bulgaria" and "The Comedians". For the game in the play "Once again back" by Michael Frayn (directed by Jiri Menzel) he was awarded with Theater Award "Askeer'98". He won the Prize of Sofia for the movie "Silence" in 1991.
