As feature-film Producer and Head of Production Shannon has mounted several independently financed productions, acting in both creative and senior business managerial capacities. He has supervised the productions from fund-raising through delivery for worldwide distribution.
Shannon serves in Board advisory leadership roles at Grand Canyon University Honors College Global Studies Program and the College of Fine Arts & Production. He volunteers as an Industry Liaison for the Arizona Film Resource Coordinator program under the Film & Digital Media Arizona Commerce Authority.
In addition to feature film credits, Shannon has produced behind-the scenes documentaries, including a Telly award-winning documentary Brothers in Arms, on the topic of Small weapons proliferation in third world nations, as a special DVD supplement to Lions Gate feature, Lord of War starring Nicholas Cage. He earned a second Telly award for a 3D commercial spot produced for 3DHD televisions, mobile devices and tablets featuring athletic tricks performed on the Razor Ultra Pro.
A graduate of the University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts, Shannon has sought to balance his producing career with philanthropic ventures in education for young filmmakers within the United States and abroad. As adjunct faculty at USC's Summer Production Workshop in 1998, he taught "The Art and Technique of Special Effects: a Beginning filmmaking experience" as well serving as Program Administrator of Summer Programs.
His previous philanthropic accolades include founder and Executive Director of the The Young Filmmakers Academy, a 501(c)3 non-profit, youth oriented study abroad educational organization for filmmaking. Programs hosted more than 800 students taking place in Los Angeles, New York, Arizona, Germany and Italy.
