James Genn is a film and TV writer, producer and director originally from Vancouver, Canada. Over a
thirty-year career he has directed and produced hundreds of hours of TV series, pilots, and feature films.
His work includes multiple episodes of Wild Cards, The Good Doctor, Ginny and Georgia, Charmed, The
Hardy Boys, Ransom, Rookie Blue, Call Me Fitz; and Kim's Convenience, half a dozen TV pilots, Wild
Cards, House Party, Seed, as well as the beloved feature Old stock and the award-winning short film The
Dog Walker. Surrounded by art, photography, music and film as a kid, James built a repertoire of sweet,
quirky comedy films in his twenties that took him to festivals around the world. He's applied his unique
voice and exceptional quality of work to almost every genre, and he's been recognized by the Canadian
Screen Awards, Genie, Gemini, and DGC awards, as well as the first ever Philip Borsos Award, for work
ranging from comedies, to genre, to procedural and dramas.
