President Joe Biden was seen over the weekend enjoying a beach day at Rehoboth Beach in Delaware with First Lady Jill Biden. The couple lounged in some beach chairs under an umbrella while reading.
The Secret Service and Coast Guard stayed nearby the beach to ensure the safety and privacy of the couple.
The press and local people were able to snap a few photos and even a video of the two.
One included a reporter, who saw the Bidens as he was taking a family walk down the beach. He was able to snap a few photos of Joe standing on the beach shirtless wearing blue anchor-patterned swim trunks. The president also had a backward blue baseball cap on and his iconic aviator sunglasses.

Since President Trump took office, Republicans have accused social media platforms of bias against conservative users. But according to a new report from Motherboard, Twitter has avoided censoring white supremacists out of fear that it could impact the accounts of Republican politicians.
The report cites a March 22nd meeting at Twitter during which it was explained to attendees that accounts like those of Arabic language broadcasters may inadvertently be flagged in the course of the platform ridding itself of Isis propaganda. Twitter hasn’t made the same commitment to rid itself of white supremacist content,...

Did you know that Luke Skywalker eventually got married? Or that Leia had twins with Han and trained as a Jedi? No? That's because it happened in the Expanded Universe.
When the world found out what George Lucas, Lucasfilm, and Disney had planned for 2015, one of the first questions that hardcore "Star Wars" fans raised was "What about the Expanded Universe?" It's a term mostly used by only the more dedicated of fans, but almost everybody has encountered the immense collection of books, comics, and video games at some point without even knowing it.
In short, the Expanded Universe is any officially licensed "Star Wars" story outside of the three live-action films. If it's got the "Star Wars" logo and tells a story, it is considered part of the Expanded Universe. That means television shows like "The Clone Wars," video games like "The Force Unleashed," and books like "Shadows of...

This week, the buzzword in the Star Wars universe is not actually a word at all, but a number: 1313, to be exact. Everyone’s wondering why Lucasfilm purchased domain names relating to “Star Wars” and those mysterious digits.
Many theorists say it has something to do with a long-awaited Boba Fett movie, but Eric Geller of TheForce.net doesn’t buy it. “My best guess is that ‘1313’ refers to Thursday, January 3rd, 2013,” Geller says. “They may be planning to unveil the starwars1313.com website this fall and use it to tease an announcement that will be made on 1/3/13.” But why a Thursday? “I have no clue,” Geller admits. “It's an odd day of the week to make an announcement, but maybe they really wanted the double-13 repetition factor.”
Geller also has a notion about what exactly Lucasfilm will announce on 1/3/13. “I think it will be details about Seth Green's animated series.

A while back I had an insightful conversation with Eric Geller of TheForce.Net about the improbable popularity of Boba Fett; this became the subject of my very first Comlink column.
Recently Eric and I discussed the ascent of another "Star Wars" character: the Corellian known as Dengar. Like Boba Fett, Dengar embarked on a search for Han Solo in “The Empire Strikes Back,” but unlike Fett, the voice of Dengar is not heard at all. In fact, he’s sort of a blink-and-you-miss-him kind of guy.
But despite his lack of screen time (and his loss of the Solo bounty to Fett), Dengar has become quite the cult figure in the Expanded Universe. His fans include actors Patton Oswalt and Simon Pegg, who just voiced the animated bounty hunter on “Star Wars: The Clone Wars.”
To me, Dengar’s popularity is something of a head-scratcher (no pun intended). To Geller,...

According to Eric Geller from TheForce.net, there were three people who were largely responsible for the success of the original “Star Wars” trilogy: creator George Lucas, composer John Williams, and concept artist Ralph McQuarrie.
McQuarrie, who passed away on Saturday at age 82, might not have been as well-known as Lucas and Williams. But if it weren’t for him, “Star Wars” might never have made it to the big screen. It was his artwork that helped convince 20th Century Fox to green-light the first film back in 1975.
In a statement on StarWars.com, Lucas wrote:
"Ralph McQuarrie was the first person I hired to help me envision Star Wars. His genial contribution, in the form of unequaled production paintings, propelled and inspired all of the cast and crew of the original Star Wars trilogy. When words could not convey my ideas, I could always point to one of Ralph's fabulous illustrations and say,...

To commemorate the return of Star Wars to your local megaplex (you probably already know that "Episode I: The Phantom Menace" in 3D hits theaters next Friday) we at MTV Movies have decided to give you a very special gift—a weekly blog devoted to all things "Star Wars."
In this very space I will be reporting, ruminating and ranting about a variety of topics relating to the film franchise that has always been near and dear to my heart. I’ll call this column The Comlink until I come up with something cooler – suggestions are most definitely welcome.
Today’s topic is a character who—although not my personal favorite—has become so big in the Expanded Universe that if he decided to enter the upcoming presidential election he’d probably win. He’s the guy who survived the belly of the Sarlacc and who legions of fans are...

Synopsis:
Naboo, a peaceful planet governed by the young, elusive, but wise Queen Amidala (Portman), is being threatened by the corrupt Trade Federation, puppets of an evil Sith lord and his terrifying apprentice, Darth Maul (Park). The seemingly benevolent Senator Palpatine (McDiarmid) is chief advisor to the queen, though there are suspicions surrounding him. Jedi knights Qui-Gon Jinn (Neeson) and Obi-Wan Kenobi (McGregor) are called on to intervene in the trade disputes. Along the way,...

Are you ready for Jar-Jar Binks in 3D?
Okay, so that's just a bit glass half empty -- or all empty -- but Jar-Jar's giant ears flapping in your face is just one of the many splendors waiting for you when the new 3D version of "Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace" arrives in theaters next February. And we've got the brand new trailer for it right here.
Considering the fact that George Lucas has been on the forefront of developing cutting edge film technology for the past 30+ years, it's no surprise that he's embraced the 3D trend by retroactively rejiggering all of his movies; the only surprise is that it's taken him this long. And considering how much of the action is rendered with CGI, particularly in Episodes I-iii, the conversion is likely going to be seamless, especially compared to some of the clumsier 3D efforts moviegoers...

If there is one thing fans will appreciate about the first Star Wars Episode I; The Phantom Menace 3D trailer, that has just hit online, it’s that it lacks Jar Jar Binks. And even though we will still have to endure the half-wit gungan (well aren’t all of them half wits) in the first episode, we shouldn’t ignore the fact that there are still two more blasphemes Star Wars movies that follow after it. In spite of that, I am sure that this is the best way to approach this, as we won’t have to hear of these prequels for quite some time when the original episodes hit the big screen.
While 3D may be all the rage, I lack the technology (because Apple doesn’t have a 3D macbook) to view this trailer in the proper format. Still you have to like how Lucasfilms is marketing this movie,...
